I'm not sure why this hotel gets so many recommendations. In terms of room size and cleanliness, it was the most disappointing hotel of our trip!
First, I wouldn't recommend the balcony room. It's tiny, and all you get is a balcony that overlooks a dirty, messy, enclosed alleyway, offering no view whatsoever.
Second, the room truly is small. If you're traveling with two 28-inch suitcases, opening them up is a challenge. You might be able to fit one 28-inch suitcase by the window, but the other 24-inch one would have to stay by the door. And you'd have to close them up every time you wanted to open the door to enter or exit.
Third, the bathroom drain had a really strong unpleasant smell, especially after being closed up all night. Even running the fan didn't help; it would just switch off after a short while.
The hotel is quite new, and the overall service attitude was impeccable. However, breakfast was very basic, offering just coffee and tea with very limited choices – hardly any fruit or bread! It definitely doesn't compare to another hotel we stayed at for the same price.
Also, the elevator doesn't go directly to your floor. It stops halfway between floors, so you have to climb a half-flight of stairs with your luggage.
Very nice hotel located by the airport. Very quiet from both aircraft and road noise. Extensive grounds, lovely to stroll around and places to rest. Good sized, well equipped rooms. Efficient lifts and plenty of eateries to choose from. Friendly efficient staff. Nice size swimming pool and separate children's area. Highly recommend.
Hello,
Without any exception, all staff went the extra mile to serve.
Outstanding:
room with a great view,
the breakfast buffet,
the lobby vibe,
and the responsiveness of the concierge staff.
Many thanks
Huda
Connected to Terminal 3 by a sky bridge, you can walk directly from the terminal across the parking lot to the hotel without ever going outside. The room was spacious and soundproof (could barely hear any planes taking off or landing), the bedding was clean, and breakfast was plentiful and delicious. My only regret is that my stay was too short; my flight was delayed the night before and I didn't arrive until almost midnight, then I left right after breakfast the next morning.
The owner was really, really kind. He even went out to buy water and snacks for me. The place was very clean. It was close to the bus stop, so I didn't stay for one night, just washed up and rested. It didn't seem like a good place to sleep. The horn outside was too loud. However, it was clean and I really liked the owner, so I gave it five stars.
Fabulous! After a busy few days staying elsewhere in Cairo it was wonderful to reach the sanctuary of the Ramses Hilton. We were upgraded to an Executive room and spent a great afternoon just admiring the view and the Nile from our high balcony, and relaxing by / swimming in the (almost-hot!) pool. The room had everything we could ask for and the bed was super comfortable. Service was impeccable, and our dinner and a few beers were good value. Highly recommended 👌
We stayed in this hotel for the night since we arrived one day before our tour group . Our requirement was to have a comfortable sleep for the night . I have seen many reviews complaining about difficulty in finding the novotel shuttle bus from airport to hotel . However , we had a receiving person from our tour group , who helped to call the driver and coordinated our boarding of shuttle bus. so we did not face that problem . We were picked up at the airport.
Hotel staff were kind and helpful . We had both dinner and breakfast in the hotel . Since it was Feb 14th there was a young lady who gave a rose to me in the restaurant to give to my wife. Nice gesture . we loved it.
It was comfortable stay , room was just right . Food was good . Our return back to airport was easy using the shuttle bus. Thanks for the good stay.
Traveling with family and children, the owner was incredibly thoughtful, upgrading us to a deluxe family suite free of charge – a truly exceptional experience!
The hotel's attention to detail was remarkable. They thoughtfully provided Chinese-style power outlets and USB charging ports, and even included emergency supplies like razors and masks – they really understand the needs of Chinese travelers.
The room was meticulously decorated, with soft and comfortable bedding, offering an experience comparable to hotels in Egypt. The toiletries were also provided to Chinese standards, making it very comfortable. The breakfast was plentiful and delicious.
We were especially lucky to coincide with the owner's friend's dinner party, where they warmly invited us to join them. A table laden with authentic home-style dishes: steamed sea bass, spicy crab, braised beef, and seasonal vegetables – all familiar flavors from home, instantly soothing our homesickness. Sitting and chatting with everyone created a warm and lively atmosphere, instantly relieving the fatigue of our journey.
Overall, the service, facilities, and thoughtful details far exceeded the standards of hotels in Egypt, reaching the service standards of high-quality hotels in China. A top choice for families with children, highly recommended!
I spend wonderful 4 days, Everything was amazing, and the staff were welcoming and very helpful specifically Mohammed and maddona in room service and all the guys in reception, and it was a great experience for me as a honeymoon..
The only thing that made me upset was the sounds of renovations work..other than that it was perfect
Wow, this place is really great and offers excellent value for money. The facilities are top-notch, and the other guests are very polite and respectful of personal space. The staff here are some of the best English speakers I've encountered in Egypt. They were incredibly caring and thoughtful when I asked them to help me communicate with locals. One lady even helped me loosely plan my itinerary for the next few days. I'd definitely love to come back and stay in one of their private rooms if I get the chance.

Very Good
3320255****This hotel is very close to Cairo International Airport and has a great atmosphere, even with peacocks roaming the grounds. I chose a ground-floor room with a courtyard, which was right across from the pool. There are also various restaurants offering different cuisines nearby.

RRamyFirst room smelled like cigarettes despite picking no smoking. Second room was an upgrade but it was actually the upgrade I originally paid for. My first room was a downgrade.
AAnonymous UserIn general, it is not bad for me to stay in a single room with a common bathroom for 10 nights.
Above all, I would like to express my gratitude to the staff's efforts to manage the City Hostel clean which is too old and out fashioned building.
* Location & Transportation
Without noise, it is the best location to stay. It is located at 2 2-minute walk distance from Attaba subway station that connects to the Ramsis Railway Station and the Egypt Museum, only 1~3 stops away, charging 6 EGP per way. Of course, you can go to both by walk in 20 minutes. It means you can also enjoy the Nile riverside which is close to the museum.
And it is a 2-minute walk distance from the Attaba market which is the biggest public market in Cairo and so many locals visit to buy their livelihoods stuff at a cheap price.
In addition, you can also walk to the Al Azhar Mosque and Khan El-Khalili traditional market in 30 minutes, and St. Marc Coptic Orthodox Cathedral in AL Azbakeya in 10 minutes
Two problems I experienced are firstly the noi⁹sy from 8 am to 3 am outside the building due to market area and cars' horns. It took 3 days for me to adapt it. Any room in the hostel cannot escape it without changing the windows to soundproof ones. If you are sensitive to sound, it is better to find other lodges in a residential area or modernized ones.
Secondly, its location on the Uber taxi map and other maps is not accurate, so drivers have some problems in finding the city hostel. I have to meet them in front of the KFC next to the Attaba subway station. The signboard of the hotel is too small to recognize it.
* Building and room conditions
Like many other buildings in Cairo, the hostel building is old and shabby. The interior design and facilities are also outdated. However, the staff manages it so clean, particularly a common toilet and shower room.
It is quite convenient a washstand in each room.
However, it is bad there is no electronic kettle to boil water in a room or a common space. I could not enjoy my tea or coffee time at any time. I have to ask for hot drink water every morning when receiving breakfast, and store it in my tumbler.
It will be better to provide a tea or coffee service area in the hostel.
* Cleanness & Safety
Cleanness and safety are very good. I have no issue with this.
* Services
There is no basic service that most guesthouses provide in general: toilet paper and drink water.
Wifi is too weak to use the internet.
Other services like laundry are satisfied.
* Others
During my stay, I couldn't enjoy having an exchange time with other travelers. I think it is because there is no reason to stay in a common space where only sofas and a table are. Largely guesthouse provides a commonplace where guests enjoy better the internet or drinks including tea or coffee and foods, which makes guests meet each other naturally and structurally.
In conclusion, if the hostel provides basic services like toilet paper and commonplace with drink water and electronic kettles, it will be much better.
And it is necessary to change its signboard so that is more recognizable.
Except issues I mentioned above, it is a very good budget lodge.
RricksterI needed to stay here for a business trip. The good points are the consistently high quality of the St. Regis rooms, the abundant breakfast, and I loved the swimming pool.
The downside is the location. The new capital city is so new; the nearest shopping mall is a 30-minute drive away, and because it's so new, even ride-hailing services are hard to find. The hotel only has two restaurants.
GGuest UserThe staff of this hotel was not good, At about 8 PM in the evening, the hotel front desk staff called the room and said that the hotel we booked only allows one person to stay. If two people stay, they need to add an additional fee of 70 US dollars. Very unlogic, so I leave my friend and I booked another hotel.but the facilities and environment is good .only their service is bad

GGuest UserWe stayed here for two nights on two separate bookings, We had requested on the first day of check-in to join the beds, but they had not done it on the first day, and neither on the second day. They came and handled it at 8:30pm on the second night. The TV was not working on the first night and they told me they would let the IT department fix it on the second day, but that did not happen either. When we were leaving for our day out on the second day, we told the reception to handle everything while we are away, I guess they completely forgot.

An Exceptional and Memorable Stay at Tolip Olympic City!
”First and foremost, I want to highlight the outstanding level of security and the pristine, cozy atmosphere of the rooms. The staff truly went above and beyond to ensure a fantastic experience for me and my family.
A heartfelt thank you goes out to the incredible team who made our stay so special:
* Ahmed (Bellboy) for his warm and welcoming assistance.
* The Reception Team (Moaman, Gehad, and Amina) for a highly professional and seamless check-in experience, as well as their attentive responsiveness throughout the day. A special thanks to their wonderful Team Manager, Mr. Karim.
* The Room Service Team for their dedication and impeccable attention to detail.
* A very special appreciation to the Restaurant Team—every single waiter was attentive and polite. The culinary experience was extraordinary, thanks to the two highly professional chefs, brilliantly led by Chef Hosny Amin.
Naturally, such sustained excellence reflects a highly professional, aware, and dynamic management, perfectly represented by the esteemed General Manager, Mr. Mohamed Abdel Aal.
You have undoubtedly left the absolute best impression on my family and me regarding Tolip Hotels, and specifically this magnificent Tolip Olympic City branch. Highly recommended!”

VVon30Stayed for 4 nights. Upon check-in I asked the man at the reception if anything else was needed as normally a deposit would be taken. Was told that everything was fine. On the 2nd night we decided to have dinner at the restaurant at the lobby. Food was not prepared as I requested as I ordered steak. The waiter insisted that I sliced through the middle to check it as I ordered medium rare. He agreed that it was overcooked. Took it back and said that they would prepare another order. However, 5minutes later he sent the same steak back to me and mentioned that they checked under proper lighting and it was cooked properly. It was very obvious that it was definitely overcooked and dry. I just accepted it and couldn’t be bothered. Mind you the fries that came with the steak was over fried and hard as rock. I didn’t even eat another piece after trying it. Halfway through chewing on the hard and dry steak. The waiter decided to come back again and ask if everything was fine and if I didn’t like it they could cook me another piece. This was just frustrating and I didn’t want to wait anymore as it was late and I was tired from a full day tour. Finally finished my dinner and asked for the bill. I signed it to the room. The waiter comes back and tells me that I didn’t put a deposit in the room so I had to pay. Mind you I brought no cards or cash since I expected that I could bill to the room. One of us ended up going back to the room to take money to pay for the meal which was embarrassing and unacceptable for our standards. We were staying for 4 nights. On our last night of stay, we came back to the hotel and we were locked out of the room. Had to go back to reception and found out that the person who checked us in didn’t put the correct number of nights. This was truly a disgrace on Waldorf and the receptionist. Obviously your staff at the check in need more training. I have stayed in many international hotels around the world and never face such lowly trained staff at reception that make such mistakes which spoils the image of the hotel.
However, I have to give a huge shoutout to a few people that made my days great. Menna and Apeeo from breakfast were wonderful. Impeccable service from them. However, male staffs showed poor knowledge and were quite lazy as they were more interested in chatting that serving customers. Bellman Sherif was wonderful helping us check out with our luggages and even waited with us for our transport.
