YYS111Good for a party crowd but the room was a little noisy for us, overhearing loud music playing in the lobby until ~10pm-ish. Good amenities in the small room. Comfortable shower with consistent warm water and water pressure, fit for a global brand. Great made to order breakfast. But one big problem with the room design. The main ventilation faces our bed. This means we wake up with a headache in the morning because cold wind consistently blow on our heads while we sleep. Either that or not having enough air ventilation in the room.

Stayed at voco Madrid Retiro and overall, it was a solid experience.
The location is one of its biggest strengths. It’s close to Retiro Park and in a quieter part of Madrid, which makes it ideal if you want to avoid the chaos of the city centre while still being a short ride away from everything. Getting around was easy with taxis and public transport nearby.
The room was modern, clean, and comfortable. The bed in particular was excellent, which matters more than most people admit after a long day walking around Madrid. Housekeeping was consistent and the space felt well-maintained.
Service was generally good. Staff were polite, helpful, and efficient, though not overly warm or memorable. Everything worked, no friction, but also nothing that really stood out.
Breakfast was decent with a good variety, though it can get busy during peak hours. If you’re particular about a calm breakfast experience, go early.
A couple of minor downsides. The hotel lacks a bit of character and personality, and depending on your room, soundproofing could be better. Not a dealbreaker, but noticeable.
Overall, voco Madrid Retiro is a reliable, comfortable option that does the basics very well. If you value convenience, cleanliness, and a quieter location over boutique charm, it’s a strong choice.

HhufreeThe room was very spacious. While its location is a bit of a walk from the metro station, it's still easily accessible on foot. As a classic five-star hotel, the bed was incredibly comfortable. However, a notable omission was the lack of a coffee machine, coffee pods, or even creamer. For a five-star property, especially in Spain where coffee is renowned for its quality, this felt quite basic and a bit of an oversight.

OoenanayVery close to bus 203 for the train staion and the airport. Walking is not a problem for us so the location is pretty good. It took about 45 min to walk through El Retiro Park to Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía. Palacio de Cristal is closed but the water feature in front of it is very cute. The way back along P.º del Prado at night is pleasant too.

DDazhazhadesuThe hotel is located right next to Retiro Park, on the edge of Madrid's central business district. It takes over half an hour by subway to get to the Royal Palace or the Prado Museum area, or about 15 minutes by taxi. The nearest metro station is a very close 3-minute walk away.
The hotel's cleanliness was decent, but it's clear the facilities are quite old.
I booked a room without breakfast, but for some reason, breakfast was complimentary, which was a nice surprise. The variety wasn't extensive, but the taste was acceptable. You could also order from a menu.

SShra124I really like the location of the hotel.It's very friendly very near to the main attractions of the city. I like the food which is available there in the drinks that are freshly made and served. The hotel rooms are very clean and it is all well maintained. There's always someone available at the reception. It is like 24 hours availability. For any person, so in case of anything, you can just go in, check with them

OOskitarIt was great because it was very close to the Chamartín line and away from the noise and dust of the construction work at Chamartín Station. The breakfast was very good, and there was always something for everyone, so you didn't want for anything. The buffet was very good, and one of the receptionists was especially friendly. The pool was great, and the rooms were very comfortable. Plus, the windows closed very well. We both think we'll definitely stay here again. We didn't know the default reservation was for just one person... so we had to pay an extra fee once we arrived.

AAnonymous UserWe came to the apartment at 3pm (check in time) and found out that a cleaner was still in the mid-way of cleaning. We talked to reception who immediately sent one more cleaner to help and said the apartment would he ready in 10 mins. We got into the apartment like 20 mins later and felt like that the floor might not have been mopped. I stayed there for 5 nights and found that the sole of my slippers were blackened, which always left dirty slipper print in washroom after shower.
We had stayed in a 2 bedrooms 2 washrooms apartment. The furnishing however was very strange. While the master bedroom was equipped with 2 single beds placed together, the other small bedroom with only sliding door was with a double bed! My friend stayed in a 2 bedrooms 1 washroom apartment got a much better configuration which is a normal double bedroom and a twin room (as advised in website).
Besides, the living room was a bit dark.
On the whole, the stay was still fairly satisfactory. Reception staff was polite, helpful and efficient. Provision of basic cooking essentials including oil was good. Stuff in cleaning kit and toilet paper however was inadequate for a long stay. We needed to go to reception (opens only 0900-1700) to get additional supplies. Wish the cleaner would stock the place according to stay duration of the guests.
The apartment is situated in a very convenient location. 5 mins to Metro Palos de la Frontera, 10 mins to Atocha train station, 2 mins to Carrefour Express, 7 mins to Lidl supermarket. There is also another big supermarket Dia nearby.
Above all, the building provides free luggage storage facilities in 3,4 & 5 floors. You need €1 to operate the locker but you can it back when returning the key. That’s real convenient.

• The air conditioning did not have heating, but the blanket was thick enough to keep warm; the temperature that night was around 13°C.
• The room was very spacious—enough to fully open two large suitcases on the floor with plenty of space left to walk around.
• The bathroom included a hairdryer.
• The shower drain seemed slightly clogged, causing slow drainage; we had to keep the water pressure low while showering.
• No drinking water was provided in the room, but the front desk informed us that the tap water from the bathroom sink is safe to drink.
• There was no kettle in the room, but you can request hot water from the front desk—they kindly provided it from the cafeteria free of charge.
• Although the hotel is not located right in the tourist center and isn’t within short walking distance to major attractions, it has excellent transport links: there are both a bus stop and a metro station right outside and around the corner.
• It’s very convenient whether you’re arriving from Atocha Station or heading to key destinations like Madrid Royal Palace, Moncloa Bus Terminal (for Segovia express), Plaza Eliptica (for Toledo express), or Estacion de Autobuses Madrid Sur (for Porto overnight bus).
• The front desk staff were extremely friendly and helpful. On the day of check-out, we left our luggage there for free while we visited Toledo. When we returned around 6:00 PM, they even provided hot water for our instant noodles. We rested in the cafeteria for a few hours before heading to catch our overnight bus to Porto.
• Their assistance made our trip much smoother and more comfortable.

GGuest UserThe room was spotless, and the facilities were brand new. It was also quite quiet. However, a housekeeper unexpectedly walked into the room, saw it was occupied, and immediately left without offering any explanation or apology. It felt very intrusive for a staff member to casually enter a guest's room unannounced.
