Arriving at the train station, I found out the shuttle bus for the hotel wouldn't arrive for another 45 minutes, so we opted to walk there. It takes about half an hour but going uphill in the blazing sun was a bit torturous. The driveway is also very steep, so beware if you have a lot of baggage. Hotel has a wealth of history. It hosted a lot of famous guests in the early 20th century. Modern hotels are sterile in comparison. It's an old building, so is draughty and full of ancient furniture. This may be a turnoff for some but I found it completely charming.

Overall, I was very satisfied. There's a children's play area, the large communal bath has an open-air hot spring, and it's generally spacious and nice. That said, it can't be helped that it gets crowded. There are also times when you can enjoy free drinks, which is great. If I had to say something, I would say it would be great if the buffet menu didn't change and if there were two types of baby food instead of just one.

The facilities and hospitality of the hotel mentioned above are close to full marks. On the other hand, unfortunately the cleaning of the hot spring bath is not so good, and there is nothing that can be done about the quality of the hot spring water. And the quality of the dinner. The number of dishes is more than enough, but I would like them to take the taste more seriously. I would like food that tastes good, not just the price.

We are a group of 4 pax travelling , we love this hotel , short walk from train station We opt for the room with breakfast and dinner , really good and sumptuous food prepared and we were given a private room to enjoy our meal Onsen just conveniently at lower ground , public indoor and outdoor . This Japanese hotel offered spacious rooms, beautiful gardens, and an uncrowded onsen. However, there was no private shower in the room, meaning we had to use the communal bath for washing. The toilet area was very small, and the facilities felt quite dated. Breakfast was more about presentation than substance, and frankly, not very tasty. While they offer a shuttle service to the JR station, it only runs at limited times, making it quite inconvenient.

We had a wonderful stay at Kamenoi Hotel! The hotel is conveniently located right in front of the lake (＜1 min walk from the 湖畔前 bus stop). The rooms were very clean and comfortable, amenities were great as well (indoor and outdoor onsen, free ramen during supper time). Do note that there is no shower in the room.

Splendid lobby on 13/F with best view in the town, convenient parking facility connecting to the hotel at a reasonable price ¥1,100 overnight, close to shops and train station, buffet breakfast with quality. Just need to ask for coffee set at reception, not provided in room and only have chopsticks in restaurant.

I stayed here for my birthday. The best thing about it was that there was a bath in the room. I also went to the large public bath, but it was empty, probably because everyone else was using the baths in their rooms. Being able to use the ReFa hair dryer was also a nice touch. I had asked for a celebratory plate to be served with the meal, but they forgot to bring it out, so if you're planning a surprise, it's a good idea to double-check in advance.

I always stay here on business trips. Perhaps because it was the busy season around the end of the year, the hot water only came out occasionally this time... I was in trouble because I was taking a shower. My colleague said the same thing. Maybe I should have gone to the large public bath... but it was disappointing.

A family trip, parents and children. Kinugawa is a declining hot spring town. It became popular after Tobu opened the train. I chose this place at night when I was traveling to Nikko. The hotel is a little far from Tobu Kinugawa Station, and it takes more than 20 minutes to walk. It is recommended to take the bus next to the station if you are traveling with children, the elderly or large suitcases. The hotel dinner is buffet style, and drinks are charged separately. The men's and women's baths are switched in the morning and evening. The open-air baths also do not offer views of the outside. The room size is OK, enough for children. A standard hot spring hotel.
