Standard exterior and interior design of Fairfield Hotels in all around Japan, that is guest friendly and more sustainable, no gym, restaurant and bar but you can cook frozen food by microwave. Room is not big but good enough for sleeping and rest. Their idea is offering rest place for people likes hiking and natural trails.

Stayed here for a few nights while exploring the Nasushiobara / Nasu area. The hotel is relatively new, so everything feels fresh, clean, and well kept. Rooms are compact as expected, but efficient and comfortable. No unnecessary frills, just straightforward and functional. Location is very convenient, right by the station, which makes arrival and departure easy. Also works well as a base if you’re renting a car and moving around the region. Staff were polite and efficient. Overall, a reliable, no-fuss stay. If you’re looking for something clean, simple, and well-located, this does the job very well.

Beautiful old hotel. The dinner was fabulous- so elegant and wonderfully delicious. The grounds are picturesque Best thing is the location. It is up a steep hill so walking up and down is a challenge for older knees. That being said once down the hill, it is a short walk to the famous Shinkyo Bridge and across the street from the bridge is the Toshogu Shrine complex.

Location: Fantastic! Both train stations and the bus terminal are within sight, making transportation incredibly convenient. There's a large supermarket about 600-700 meters away, which is great for groceries. Room: The triple room isn't small, and the beds are comfortably firm. The heating in the room was a bit strong, and a humidifier would have been nice. Amenities: You can pick up various toiletries at the front desk. On the first floor, there's a self-service coffee and tea bar, which is lovely for relaxing with a drink and enjoying the view after a day out. The hot spring has both indoor and outdoor pools, but there are only five showers. If you go during off-peak hours, it's not crowded. The large public bath only has a hairdryer, no lotions or anything else. Breakfast: The menu changes daily. While not super extensive, the overall quality is excellent. The Japanese curry rice is delicious, and the bread is also good.

The kids were thrilled with the all-inclusive buffet! The adults also enjoyed the all-inclusive dining in the lounge, and we didn't even go to our room for a while! This is a hotel we'd definitely like to stay at again!

The hotel is very new and comfortable. The hotel is about a 25 min drive from Nikko and has free parking. It's located within a little amusement village with an onsen, a farmers market and a brewery. Good value for a Nikko area hotel

The location right in front of the station is incredibly convenient. The breakfast area is small and the buffet selection is limited, but for this price, it's perfectly acceptable. I was also able to work at the counter after check-out and they stored my luggage, so I'm very satisfied with the service.

The facilities and hospitality of the hotel mentioned above are close to full marks. On the other hand, unfortunately the cleaning of the hot spring bath is not so good, and there is nothing that can be done about the quality of the hot spring water. And the quality of the dinner. The number of dishes is more than enough, but I would like them to take the taste more seriously. I would like food that tastes good, not just the price.

My stay at Hotel Hatago Nagomi was a lovely experience. While the property is a bit on the older side, it more than makes up for it with a cozy atmosphere and excellent service. Waking up to a direct view of the lake from my room was a highlight, as was winding down in the relaxing on-site hot spring. The three-course Japanese dinner was absolutely awesome and offered incredible quality for a very standard price. It’s a perfect, comfortable home base for anyone looking for an authentic stay in Nikko.

GGuest UserGreat value for money (what more could you ask for? LOL), unbeatable views, and a large public bath. Breakfast and dinner are mainly Western-style, perfect for introverts looking to relax. It's a bit of a walk from Chuzenji Onsen Station, about 10-15 minutes if you're pulling luggage. Chuzenji Post Office is a bit closer. Perhaps because it's winter, all the shops nearby were closed, so it's best to stock up on food before heading up the mountain.

GGuest UserI don’t understand why someone would leave a negative review due to their own negligence. Trip.com clearly mentioned the additional 300-yen tax (I assume this is the onsen tax) per person, yet they still claimed they were “scammed.” My overall experience at Hotel Euro City was wonderful. The staff were extremely nice and helpful, and the shuttle bus service was amazing. If you want to get to the hotel easily, check the shuttle schedule on the hotel’s homepage so you don’t have to walk from the station. They run it every day at 9:00, 9:30, 10:00, 15:15, 16:15, 17:15, and 18:15 from “Nikko Station Hotel Classic,” right next to JR Nikko Station. The room was spacious and comfortable, and the onsen in the backyard was great. It’s true that the room had a mild smell, but I assume it was due to recent pest control (it smelled like pesticide). Just open the windows for a while and it goes away. Breakfast was okay—not as fancy as in the advertisements, maybe because it wasn’t peak season. Overall, I think this is a very good choice, especially if you’re traveling with family.

GGuest UserWe were absolutely thrilled with our stay at Kaniyu Onsen. The journey there was a Jochen Schweitzer experience in itself! By train from Kita Senju to Kinugawaonsen (1.5 hours), then by bus to Meotobuchi (1.5 hours) and then by Onsen Shuttle (20 minutes). Booking on site without knowing Japanese was an adventure! But everything worked out perfectly, thanks in part to the very helpful women at the tourist information office and what a beautiful landscape during the journey! When we arrived at the Onsen, English was spoken quite well and everything was explained in detail. One thing that was very important to us was that tattoos are tolerated, but you should be considerate of the other visitors. This means that you can swim when there is no one else in the pool or cover it with a towel. We didn't go into the large communal pool until very late. Before that we had only been in the small pools, where you are not seen very much. The dinner is also very unusual. As a European you have to get involved in it and for me, who doesn't eat fish, it was a bit of a challenge. But you only experience something like that once, so they do it!! We thought it was great and would come back anytime! Thank you for the great time!

TThe5thStudioNestled along the shores of Lake Chuzenji, some rooms offer breathtaking views of the lake and the majestic Mount Nantai. The Japanese-style rooms are spacious, featuring tatami flooring, scenic areas, and comfortable beds, perfect for enjoying the beautiful autumn leaves! A special thanks to the two staff members, Lisz and Yuka, for their excellent service and fluent English in introducing each dish. They were truly professional!

JjamsusA very old style structure with a nice and kind staff. In the price it was included an abundant and traditional dinner and breakfast, also the onsen entrance which was exceptional. Outside the leaves were orange and red, the air was cold and the water was warm.

小八哥Hotel location except for driving passengers, it is not convenient to take the bus. The type of room booked is only a smoking room, and the room has a strong smell of smoke and is uncomfortable. The food supply is very good and there are surprises. The hot spring baths are good. This hotel really wants to improve the quality of hygiene, the carpets are dark, and the room should be changed to not smoke. But the price is very high, especially the discount of Trip.com

GGuest UserI want to thank hosts of Akari no yado personally. The hosts were nice and worked really hard to feel ourselves at home. The place was clean and the common room was big and comfortable. Bathroom was old fashioned but if you want modern bathrooms you were able to use the bath house for showers and toilets in the common area. Breakfast is made of pastries and all I had was pretty delicious. You can also have marmalade and margarine with breakfast pastries and there are drinks (tea/coffee/milk/juice) to choose from. We checked out early and hosts prepared our breakfast to go even if it wasn’t breakfast time yet. They even drove us to the station when we asked if they would be able to call us a taxi! Bath house was spacious with two different baths. System is easy and we were able to use it whenever we wanted (between 16.00-23.00 of course). They are giving free rental yukatas and they were so comfy. They also have guides everywhere to help you (our room even had a guide on how to prepare a futon bed!) the place felt like we were part of a  family and that was the most amazing part for me. I even got teary eyed when it was time to go. Thank you Akari no yado! Hope to see you soon again!
