My stay here with my family was a pleasant one. We arrived by bus, and the bus stop was conveniently located just about a 5-minute sheltered walk from the hotel. We reached the hotel around noon and were fortunate that our room was already available for check-in.
The room was clean, spacious, and well-maintained. It even had two TVs, which was a nice touch. The view from the room was excellent, overlooking many of Melaka's popular attractions.
The hotel staff were welcoming, friendly, and helpful throughout our stay. Breakfast was decent, with the menu changing daily. The sambal tumis and teh tarik were particularly enjoyable and became our favorites.
One of the hotel's biggest strengths is its location. It is situated close to shopping malls and major tourist attractions, making it easy to get around. We were even able to take a trishaw from the riverside cruise area back to the hotel at a very reasonable price.
The only downside during our stay was the air conditioning. In the room initially assigned to us, the air conditioner was not cooling effectively. After reporting the issue to the front desk, a technician arrived promptly to address it. However, the cooling was still not as strong as expected. When I reported the issue again, the hotel quickly arranged for us to move to another room, where the air conditioning was noticeably better.
I also noticed that the air conditioning in certain areas of the breakfast venue was not very strong, and fans were used to help cool the space. Some of my relatives who have stayed at the hotel shared similar experiences regarding the air conditioning. Given how hot the weather in Melaka can be, I believe it may be time for the hotel management to review and upgrade the air conditioning system.
Overall, we had an enjoyable stay, and it was a great short getaway for the kids. I would definitely consider staying here again and hope that the air conditioning issues will be resolved by our next visit.

We truly enjoyed our stay but not the lift. The family room is spacious, complete with bath tub and microwave, also complimentary drinks. Three bedrooms that can fit my family of seven and have space for the kids and baby ran around. Netflix and YouTube Channel, perfect for our little Stay at hotel vibes. But I think the in- room service is really important. We don't plan on going out to have dinner so we thought we could just order from the in room dining but apparently the hotel doesn't offer it. But we just ordered from Grab and it is not disappointing. Basic amenities like toothbrush, shower cream were also prepared. The pool and kids pool is huge but there are too many people staying at the hotel as well as The Shore (cause they share amenities) and the towel is not enough. We have to wait but the frustrating part is my room accommodated 5 adults but only 2 pool towels were allowed to be taken. Maybe the hotel could revise this rule. The picture shows only the third room (where I was sleeping). It is spacious and great for a single person and not to mention the table for working space. Ah, the down side like I mentioned, the lifts. It took forever for us to get to our room and to check out. But then again it's the holiday season, so the hotel was full, so I'll be understanding this time

Our family of four from Singapore recently stayed at DoubleTree by Hilton Melaka during the Vesak Day long weekend for a short getaway, and it was an outstanding experience from start to finish.
The hotel has a beautiful ambiance that immediately makes guests feel welcomed and relaxed. Check-in and check-out were exceptionally efficient, allowing us to maximise our holiday time. What truly stood out was the friendliness and professionalism of the entire team. Every staff member we encountered was approachable, attentive, and genuinely committed to ensuring we had a comfortable stay.
The location is excellent, with plenty of dining, shopping, and sightseeing opportunities nearby. The hotel facilities were equally impressive. The swimming pool, fitness centre, and sauna were all well-maintained and provided a great way to relax after a day of exploring Melaka.
We particularly appreciated how the team regularly checked in with us to ensure everything was meeting our expectations. It is this level of personalised service that sets the hotel apart. As parents travelling with teenagers, we were pleasantly surprised to find warm food available late at night when our children got hungry. This was an unexpected but greatly appreciated touch.
Considering the quality of the facilities, service, and overall experience, the hotel offers excellent value for money. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would not hesitate to return on our next visit to Melaka.
Highly recommended for families, couples, and anyone looking for a comfortable and memorable stay in Melaka.

This hotel sits in a mall. It is situated very conveniently, walking distance to Jonker St and other food places. The Melaka river flows along it and get for taking walks.
The amenities provided are bath towels and floor towel. No face or hand towels; provides toothbrush and toothpaste. No shower caps. There is no daily room cleanup though they will upon request. Actually, you need to request for any top u or add ons eg water, soap. No cable TV. Breakfast i think is good calue for money.
You can take the lift to top of the hotel and have a bird's eye view of Malacca. (43fl)
Service is acceptable. My TV could not get some channels. The service man came quite quickly but could not quite solve the problem.
But i enjoyed my stay as though the room was quite spartan, it had sufficient for a simple stay.

the staff were helpful, and friendly. unfortunately, the hotel facilities not well-maintained. Once we checked in the room, we realised that there was no water supply for our rooms (we booked 2 rooms) at that level. the staff then explained there there were some repair/maintenance going on at the hotel hence the supply was off.. after a few attempts, muddy water came out. they promptly arrange for new rooms for us. as we booked the king size rooms (higher tier, though no highest), we were upgraded to their ”better” and more exp room at highest level.. we were delighted... initially.... when we opened the doors.. both rooms reeks of mouldy smell... we gotta open the window to air the room... the flooring also popping and peeling. The shower area also fell short of expectation. in general, super not well-maintained... and I won't ever stay here again until they refurbish /renovated the whole hotel.
good things.. got nice view...very prime location.. next door is the mall.. the bed and bedsheets were very comfy. that's about it.
Overall, the price was the most competitive compared to other options in the area, which made it good value for money.
The room size was decent and comfortable for the stay. Breakfast was average, but since it was included in the package, it was a nice addition. The facilities looked decent overall, although they could certainly benefit from a refresh and some updating.
There were a few areas that could be improved. The pillows were not very comfortable, and the room service pasta was disappointing. We also found that many of the cocktails listed at the pool lounge were unavailable during our stay.
One major downside was the room allocation. Despite specifically requesting a high-floor room during booking, we were assigned a ground-floor room right at the far end of the property, which wasn’t ideal.
Overall, it’s a reasonably priced option with decent facilities, but there is room for improvement in service consistency, maintenance, and attention to guest preferences.

I recently stayed at The Baba House Melaka and had an enjoyable experience overall. The property is clean, well-maintained, and beautifully preserved despite being a heritage building. It offers a unique Peranakan atmosphere while still providing a comfortable stay.
The staff provided excellent service throughout our visit. Requests that were communicated in advance were accommodated, and they took the initiative to arrange the multiple rooms we booked close to one another, which was greatly appreciated and made our stay more convenient.
There are a couple of areas where improvements could be made. The hotel does not offer self-service laundry facilities, which may be inconvenient for guests on longer stays. In addition, the rooms are not particularly soundproof, and noises from outside the room can sometimes be heard.
Overall, the charm of the heritage property, cleanliness, good maintenance, and attentive staff outweighed these minor drawbacks. I would recommend it to travellers looking for a heritage stay in Melaka with friendly and accommodating service.

My stay at this hotel was fairly decent for a short trip. The location was convenient, and I appreciated the free outdoor parking provided for guests. However, the cleanliness could definitely be improved. The bedsheet did not seem properly changed, and there was a brownish stain in the middle of the bed, which affected the overall comfort of the stay.
There was also an incident during the night when the safety box suddenly started beeping unexpectedly. Thankfully, after calling the front desk, the staff responded very quickly and came to solve the problem professionally, which I appreciated.

The hotel was clean and tidy, but they didn't refill the soap. I had to call twice for an iron and board to be delivered. Everything seemed to require two calls to arrive at the door. The hotel food and pool were good, and the location was also fine. The only slight hassle was having to get a stamp for the parking ticket every time we wanted to leave. We made an effort to buy swimming attire for the pool as requested, only to find many people swimming in regular clothes! I'm really unhappy about this! Please, management, ensure everyone follows the rules!

GGuest UserOverall, we were very satisfied with the hotel’s facilities and family-friendly environment. However, I would not recommend staying during peak season due to the long waiting time for room allocation. Although check-in was at 3:30 PM, we only received our room between 6:00 PM and 7:00 PM. While guests were allowed to enjoy the facilities and complimentary light refreshments while waiting, the delay was challenging, especially for young children who were already tired after travelling.
Unfortunately, the room cleanliness was below expectations. It appeared that housekeeping was rushing to prepare rooms. There was visible dust and small pieces of rubbish on the floor, the shower gel bottle was completely empty and had not been refilled, and the balcony had not been swept. Most concerning was finding a Charlie ant near the curtain.
That said, I would like to compliment the hotel manager for the prompt response when we requested additional bottled drinking water. The service recovery was appreciated.
The breakfast offered a wide variety of choices and was delicious. Parking was convenient, and the facilities were excellent, making the hotel highly suitable for families with young children.
In conclusion, the housekeeping standards and room waiting time require significant improvement. However, the food, parking, and facilities were excellent. The location is slightly outside Malacca city centre, with most tourist attractions approximately 15–20 minutes away by car.
GGuest UserThe hotel tried its best, but it has definitely seen better days. We entered a room that was clean, and the beds were made perfectly. I had requested adjoining rooms on a high floor, and both requests were accommodated, which I appreciated.
The fridge and phone in our room were not working, but it wasn’t a big deal—we simply used the adjoining room’s. However, I would have been quite annoyed if we hadn’t had the adjoining room to fall back on.
At around S$60 per room during the school holiday weekend, it’s difficult to find another hotel in such a central location that also includes breakfast, so the value for money is hard to ignore.
I would also like to commend the staff. The front desk team was welcoming, and the housekeeping team responded promptly to our requests throughout our two-day stay. The buffet breakfast was consistently topped up whenever items ran low, although the selection of pastries was limited. Overall, the staff were amazing—warm and friendly whenever we crossed paths, whether at the front desk, during housekeeping interactions, or at breakfast service.
That said, there are areas that could use significant improvement. The bathrooms are overdue for renovation, with rusty corners and stubborn stains in several places. The towels have also seen better days—they were thin and had visible holes.
I don't fault the staff for these issues, as they seem to be doing their best with a property that is quite run-down. I believe the hotel management needs to do a better job of updating and maintaining the facilities. Overall, this is a budget-friendly option with excellent service, though the hotel's physical condition could benefit from some much-needed upgrades.

CChikibumbum92This was our fifth stay at this hotel, and unfortunately, this time was very disappointing.
1. Check-in
The check-in process was smooth, and the staff were polite and welcoming. I had requested a Queen Bed room instead of Twin Beds. However, I was informed that because my booking was made at the last minute (one day before check-in), only a Twin Bed room was available as all Queen Bed rooms were fully occupied. We accepted the explanation and proceeded with the room provided.
2. Room Condition
Upon entering the room, the first issue we noticed was the air conditioning. Despite setting the fan speed to high, the room remained warm and the air conditioner was not cooling properly.
3. Bathroom
There appeared to be a blockage beneath the sink, as water was pooling around the sink and toilet area. In addition, the shower holder was broken while we were using the shower. We chose not to complain and continued our stay.
4. Room Door & Bathroom Door
The bathroom door could not be closed properly unless it was pulled and pushed firmly. The more serious issue occurred the next morning after breakfast when our room door became stuck and could not be opened.
We contacted maintenance, and the team arrived to inspect the problem. From approximately 8:00 AM onwards, we were unable to access our room. Around 8:30 AM, the maintenance team requested approval from the Front Office to move us to another room because the repair would require additional time. However, they informed that changing rooms would incur an additional charge because we were checking out on the same day.
I strongly disagree with this decision. From 8:30 AM until our checkout time at 12:00/12:30 PM, we were still paying guests of the hotel. The room issue was caused by a defect on the hotel’s side, and guests should not be charged extra to move rooms due to problems beyond their control.
The Most Disappointing Part
During check-in, we were informed that no Queen Bed Deluxe Rooms were available. However, while the maintenance team was accessing our room through the connecting room next door, we discovered that the adjacent room was vacant and equipped with a Queen Bed.
If the actual reason was that the room was unavailable due to maintenance, it would have been more professional and honest to explain that from the beginning rather than simply saying all Queen Bed rooms were fully occupied.
This experience has left us very disappointed. Every time we visit Melaka, this hotel has always been our preferred choice. However, after this stay, we have decided not to return.
I appreciate the hospitality shown by the staff during check-in, but I sincerely hope the hotel will improve both its facilities and service standards. Thank you.
GGuest UserOur stay at Puteri Bay Melaka was great 👍🏼 The location was great because we are able to have a good view of the beach, and it was near food places. The hotel reception and staff were also kind and helpful. Food selection for breakfast was good and the beds were comfortable and had a good sleep 👍🏼👍🏼
The downside was that the toilet was not totally clean as there were strands of hairs sticking out from under the bed. Additionally, there were no toothbrushes provided in the room, and the prayer mat had an odour.
Generally, the stay was good although maybe staff need to ensure the room cleanliness and smell abit more?
I would still recommend the hotel for the comfortable beds and nice view and location beside the waterfront 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
AAnonymous UserWorth the price. The staff are nice and friendly, and they kindly accommodated our request for a late checkout without any extra charges, which we really appreciated. They r also generous with pillows.
For room service, i ordered nasi goreng kampung Morten. it was delicious, except for the sambal belacan which could be improved.
Cons: Room slippers are only provided for suite rooms. It would be great if they could provide slippers for all room types, as it’s uncomfortable to walk barefoot on the room carpet
AAnonymous UserThe hotel is conveniently located near the toll, making it easy to access. It is an older property, and the furniture reflects that, but it is still functional. Cleanliness is maintained at a moderate level. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, which adds to the overall experience. The highlight of the stay is the FunPlay water park—kids absolutely loved it and had a fantastic time. The breakfast spread is impressive, with a wide variety of options to choose from.Overall, it was a pleasant stay, and we would likely visit again.
