Hotels With Breakfast in Northern Mindanao, Philippines

Very clean rooms; filling breakfast; very thoughful message during breakfast. I only had a problem with parking space; they can house 6 cars but if you park last, you may be called to move in order for others to move their car. Otherwise, I recommend 10/10!

Staying at Kokomo made our trip to Camiguin so much better! Irene the owner and her partner David are wonderful hosts. They made our stay smooth by assisting with scooter hiring, booking tours, giving tips about what to do in the island and much much more. The room size is very good, shower is hot, aircon was working perfectly (the room was cool after 5 minutes) and the bed mattress is very comfortable! We also had hangers outside to dry our dive gear and wet clothes. The pool area and gardens are very beautiful and well maintained, the staff were always tidying up the place and cleaning. The dive shop at the resort is super good with clean and new looking equipment. The dive guides we had were super attentive and friendly, we had a lot of fun! The reef in front of the hotel is very good for snorkeling. The resort has a very peaceful vibe, Irene and David made us feel like we were home! We stayed for seven nights and at the end I didn’t want to leave haha I would definitely stay again and recommend it to everyone.

The hotel was better than the other older new dawn . Equipment was in order and room was in a better condition.

This is actually my third time staying at New Dawn Pensionne House in Cagayan de Oro, mainly because of its convenient location and affordable rates. The hotel is well-located near malls, restaurants, and other establishments. If you need personal items, Watsons is also nearby, which is very convenient. However, during my stay I noticed that the Wi-Fi inside the room was very slow. I also tried switching to mobile data, but the signal inside the room was still weak. I even had to step outside the room just to get a stronger signal. Considering that Cagayan de Oro already has 5G network coverage, it was surprising that the signal could barely reach inside the room. Another thing to note is that the room does not provide free toiletries like shampoo, toothbrush, or toothpaste, so you need to buy them outside if you forget to bring your own. There was also confusion about the check-out time. The booking app indicated that check-out was 2:00 PM, but the hotel informed us that the check-out time is 12:00 PM. The staff even knocked on the door and called the room before the 2:00 PM check-out time stated in the app, which was a bit inconvenient. ✅ Pros - Convenient location near malls and stores - Affordable place to stay - Nearby convenience stores and Watsons ⚠️ Cons - Very slow Wi-Fi inside the room - Weak mobile signal inside the room -No free toiletries (shampoo, toothbrush, toothpaste) - Confusion with check-out time ⭐ Overall: Since this is already my third stay, the hotel is still a practical choice because of its location and price. However, improvements in Wi-Fi, signal reception, and clearer check-out policies would greatly improve the guest experience.

The location is great, being close to downtown, but the facilities aren't particularly impressive. There's no fridge in the room, and you have to go to the first floor to get water, which is inconvenient. Room cleaning is also only done every two days. The breakfast at the restaurant on the first floor is decent enough, though.

The hotel itself as a lot of potential. Right on the beach, with a nice terrace and in a quiet location not far from a few restaurants. However, it is very old and would need a full renovation. The rooms are spacious but the amenities are old. The headboard of our bed was full of termites and we could hear them behind us while we were sleeping. Therefore, the whole room was also full of flying termites. It was overall not that clean either. We stayed there for 4 nights and they never came to clean the room, not even the bathroom’s bin. On the last day, the bathroom started smelling like mold. The smell was very strong and we couldn’t do anything to change that. Also, on our last day, we were supposed to leave at 3:30am to go take our 4:30am ferry, the reception having organized a pick-up for us. However, we were woken up by the reception at 2:15am saying our pick-up was already here. The pick-up told us when we were telling him that we were supposed to leave at 3:30am to take the ferry at 4:30 that this ferry didn’t exist and we had to leave now, which we ended up doing. At the pier, when we saw that the 4:30am ferry actually existed, we texted the guy from the pick-up and this time he said that the hotel’s reception had told him to come pick us up at 2:15am. Anyways, I don’t know where was the problem and misunderstanding, but it was not the best way to start our day… To sum up, very mixed feelings about this hotel.

I recently stayed at Sogo CDO, and I am truly satisfied with the overall experience. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted warmly by the staff, and the check-in process was smooth and hassle-free. The room was spotless, well-maintained, and comfortably furnished, making it easy to settle in and relax after a long day of travel. I also appreciated the hotel’s amenities, which were thoughtfully provided and added to the comfort of my stay. Every interaction with the staff reflected genuine hospitality, and they were always ready to assist with a smile. Overall, the hotel delivered on all my expectations. I left with a sense of satisfaction and gratitude for such an enjoyable stay. I would gladly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a comfortable and accommodating experience.

Our quick stay was nice. The pool was spectacular! We enjoyed it so much! Our room was okay. We were initially offered with a bigger room as there were 5 of us but we chose to stay in the 4 person cabana as we found the bigger room stuffy and the toilet was sunken. The receptionist was very nice and quick to respond to this request. Our cabana was fine but the hotel could look into ”child proofing” the room as the double deck corners are a bit dangerous. We had to wrap the corners with bath towels. The sliding doors of the toilet and shower room could also do a little maintaining as they were already rusty. We loved the garden and surrounding area. It was so serene and gave us a very relaxing atmosphere. Perfect for morning coffee. The chicken bbq we had for dinner by the pool area was very tasty. Our breakfast was okay. The location is good. It's not too far from the airport and walkable distance to the White Beach Port (around 30 mins) and restaurants. There's also a scooter renting place in front of the hotel entrance. The staff were very warm and helpful. They allowed us to store luggage in the reception area upon checkout while we went to the White Beach and wait for pick up. Kudos to Benj and Grace for their top-notch hospitality and honesty! We highly recommend this for a budget friendly stay.

convenient location, polite staff and clean it’s just the guard will keep on asking if they cn open the suitcase when in fact the scanner didn’t make any sound. Anyways, they won’t force you though

Trully comfortable. TV worked, representatives at ALL LEVELS are wonderful and invitingly helpful. I'll be back!!
