Hotels With Breakfast in Viana do Castelo District, Portugal

Lovely hotel, lobby and reception area, bright cheerful and funky, very relaxed and unobtrusive, staff very friendly and attentive without being overbearing. Great choice and selection at breakfast, from fresh fruit and yogurts, cereals and seeds, preserves, toppings, breads, pastries and hot dishes and  for cold meats and cheeses. Evening menu somewhat limited in variety, set menu throughout, excellent quality and portion size, nice wine selection and full bar. If I have a negative, it would be my room, small but fully functional, with mini bar (limited), ideal for a solo traveller, but cramped if sharing. The decor of the room is what let it down! It was painted a dark blue/green which gave the feel of being closed in! Housekeeping service excellent. Overall 9.5/10

This was one of the best and most unique hotels we've ever visited. The location is perfect, there are tons of shops, restaurants, and bakeries, plus several historical sites and museums that are must-see. The hotel's chocolate museum is truly an incredible experience, especially in the education of the history of chocolate and the cocoa bean. And the chocolate products themselves are fantastic. We highly recommend this hotel if you are planing to visit this town.

The only suggestion I have for improvement, as everything else is perfect, is that they lower the dinner prices a bit. This is my second time here, but I'll be back many more times.

Disappointment! I booked a room expecting a beautiful old mansion, which it is, but I was assigned a ”modest” apartment, a local guesthouse, adjacent to the main building. While the condition isn't bad, it doesn't deserve a 4-star rating. Many details are missing: a mirror, curtains that allow the bedroom window to be opened, since it's on the ground floor... Good breakfast Very attentive service from the staff.

We had a fantastic stay at Axis hotel! The staff was incredibly welcoming and went out of their way to make us feel at home. Our room was clean, comfortable, and had everything we needed for a relaxing stay. The location was perfect, with easy access to local attractions. We especially loved the breakfast and spa. Very good location, close to village center with a lot of shops nearby. All staff was super friendly, and room was super clean. Breakfast had a lot of options. The hotel has a very calm ambiance with gorgeous views to the river Vez. Parking was also available. I definitely recommend a stay at the hotel.

We had a wonderful stay at this guesthouse. The location is perfect, right in the center of the old town, making it very convenient to visit nearby attractions and restaurants on foot. The host was very friendly and welcoming. The room was spotless, beautifully decorated, and very comfortable. Highly recommended!

Good stay overall, nice price and amenities with the outdoor pool and indoor as well - nice indoor pool temperature for Portugal. Bad part is that the hotel is clearly understaffed and cleaning is not good. The spa bathroom was not cleaned for 3 days as per the sheet there, but it looked like 30 days

The apartment originally booked on the BOOKING platform was cancelled for no reason two days before the stay. The Viena Garden Hotel was temporarily set on Trip.com. The hotel was very good, the front desk staff was very warm and the English was very good. The hotel is not far from the sea and the old city. It takes about 5 minutes to walk and it is convenient to travel. Maybe because the room is an old-fashioned building, the floor is relatively thin, and the sound of walking upstairs is louder, which is the only shortcoming.
