Great experience! The location is excellent, just a few minutes' walk to Jordan MTR station. I was surprised by the low ratings I saw previously, as I personally think it meets a 4-star standard. For this location, a price of around 400 is definitely worth it, and it's certainly better than a guesthouse. The room is a bit small, but it's very clean, and there's no old hotel smell like some mentioned. The air conditioning runs 24/7, which is very comfortable. I recommend a nearby place called ”Milk Ice Room”; the food is delicious and affordable (50 RMB per person is enough for a meal, and you get free milk tea with a main course). This is a well-established, older 5-star hotel. The standard rooms are very spacious for Hong Kong, the bedding is comfortable, and the soundproofing is good. The facilities are more traditional, but they don't feel old or run down; it has the timeless quality of a classic hotel that has stood the test of time.

It's been at least 10 years since I last stayed here. I remember staying in room 7025 in Block 2 last time, and this time I'm in room 3104 in Block 1. The hotel's hygiene is acceptable, but it's clearly showing its age, and the rooms are quite dated, likely due to insufficient maintenance. It's like Cathay Pacific flights – even planes that are nearly 30 years old are meticulously maintained, and the passenger experience is even more comfortable than on planes that are only about 10 years old. The principle is the same!
The room type I originally booked required showering in the bathtub. I only saw complaints in the reviews after booking. Later, after communicating with the hotel through Trip.com, they said I'd need to pay an additional 113 to switch to a room with a shower cubicle in the same area. Trip.com's service was truly exceptional; they proactively covered the difference, even though it wasn't their fault. It's really the hotel's problem for not providing clear information about their room facilities and being so ungenerous as to charge extra for a shower in a room in the same area. It was clearly the hotel's issue, yet they wouldn't allow a refund. Seriously, how many hotels nowadays still require you to stand in a bathtub to shower?
Another thing I have to complain about is that to this day, Hong Kong hotels still treat Mandarin-speaking and Cantonese-speaking guests differently at the front desk. I asked for a higher floor, and the person next to me speaking Cantonese was assigned to the 41st floor in Block 1, while I, speaking Mandarin, got a floor 10 floors lower 😂. Then, several guests who checked in after me went up in the same elevator to the 40th and 38th floors. I was ahead of them and clearly requested a higher floor, yet I got the lowest. Is it just because I speak Mandarin? If that's really the case, I'll just speak Cantonese next time...From€88

Access to the Olympic Station is convenient, approximately a 6–8 minute walk; utilizing the path through the HSBC building is recommended for. I can understand that major hardware changes can't happen overnight, but the lack of basic amenities and services is hard to grasp. It’s pretty OK for a shorter vacation stay, location allows convenient for exploring with a lot of public transportation points within 10-15 min walk. So, be out all day, shower, sleep, repeat.
Had a chance to see two rooms, as originally I was checking-in to a room with a mirror instead of window (while I booked a city view room), which was spacious, tile floor, overall OK.
I asked for amendment and was “upgraded” to the room in the pictures with huge windows and carpet which can be tricky in humid weather and overall a hell to keep clean in hotels.
Tricky part is that some rooms are smoker rooms and the ventilation is shared throughout the whole hotel (or the room nextdoor ignored the ban) and at one point it hit the room.
Would I pick the hotel for a week stay? Most probably not. But I keep it as a backup for 1-2 nights.From€56

The hotel was renovated in 2017, but the room, including every corner of the bathroom, was spotless. The entire hotel is exceptionally well-maintained and thoughtfully run.

Upon arriving at the lobby in the afternoon, there were many stored suitcases filling the corners. The lobby staff were very welcoming and enthusiastic, opening the doors for guests. Lobby suggestion: Adding fresh flowers would make it feel more vibrant.
**Environment**
The hotel is located near Tin Hau Station Exit A2 (the subway sign says A1, which is a bit roundabout). Walk straight across a small street for about 3-5 minutes, and you'll reach it easily. Even with a large 26-inch suitcase, it was no trouble. Along the street, there are various dessert shops and restaurants.
**Facilities**
Although the hotel was renovated in 2017, the facilities are very well-maintained.
There are night lights by the bedside in the room.
The bath towels are new, and the toiletries have a pleasant botanical scent.
The room has two direct USB charging ports, so you don't even need to bring a UK adapter – it's more than enough.

I really think this place offers great value for money. It wasn't much more expensive than hotels near the Shenzhen border, and the room was much bigger than I expected and looked quite proper.
Before coming here, I had actually lowered my expectations, wondering what kind of hotel you could get for just over 300 (excluding tax) during the summer holiday. After all, the night before, I paid over 200 near the Shenzhen border for a room with a tiny window, no soundproofing, and even mold. So, I was genuinely surprised when I arrived! It's a standalone hotel building with a spacious lobby on the ground floor. The staff were also very friendly. I'm from a remote part of Chongqing and only speak Mandarin, not Cantonese, but I didn't feel discriminated against at all.
They have a free shuttle service, which I didn't know about at first. You can take the shuttle from Tsuen Wan MTR station (exit E) – the pickup point is next to Metroplaza on the opposite side. You don't need anything to board the shuttle to the hotel, but you do need to book in advance with the front desk for the return trip. One minor drawback is that check-in isn't until 3 PM, and check-out is at 11 AM the next day, which is different from mainland China, so you'll need to plan your time accordingly.From€58

Dorsett is a good chain hotel that I’ve stayed at before many times in Hong Kong, but I have to say this is probably my least favourite of the several locations they have. The hotel does offer good facilities and good sized rooms with comfortable bedding, bathroom. The hotel also has a gym, and restaurant. However, the location isn’t too good and despite saying it’s only a few hundred meters away from two metro stations it’s quite a long and inconvenient walk from either. In addition, one side of the hotel overlooks a huge cemetery and grave yard - so if you are particular about this kinda of thing it would be an issue and it would be your entire view so something you can’t avoid. This isn’t mentioned anywhere else from what I can find. The only way you can avoid this is to pay to upgrade to a premium room (I feel this is a little unfair way of marketing). Staff are generally friendly however I did find one of the concierge a little rude and abrupt.From€73

The room was spacious, and so was the bathroom, which is excellent for Hong Kong where space is at a premium. The only downside was the bathtub being a bit small. The location is great, right in Harbour City, making it very convenient to get to the ferry terminal or the MTR station. The service attitude was also good.
Downsides: The hygiene was terrible!! There were 4 or 5 short hairs in the bathtub even though it hadn't been used yet!!! When we tried to check in at 12:00, they said no rooms were available, which means the room wasn't empty initially. This implies that the previous guest had left, but the staff hadn't cleaned it at all!!! This was quite disgusting. We later brought it up to the hotel staff, and they did clean it, but it still felt very unsettling!!
