🚇Hong Kong to Shenzhen by MTR
The MTR is the most popular way to travel from Hong Kong to Shenzhen. Trains mainly terminate at Lo Wu and Lok Ma Chau, which connect to Lo Wu Port and Futian Port. Note that these border crossings are not open 24 hours, so check the port opening times before you travel. Lok Ma Chau (Futian Port) has shorter opening hours than Lo Wu, so plan accordingly.

Route 2: East Rail Line → Lo Wu Port
- Take the East Rail Line from stations like Admiralty or Hung Hom directly to Lo Wu Station. Trains run frequently.
- At Lo Wu Station, exit to Lo Wu Port and complete Hong Kong exit and Mainland entry procedures.
- Connect to Shenzhen Metro Line 1 (Luobao Line) to reach areas such as Lo Wu, Futian, Nanshan, or transfer to other lines for further destinations.
Note: For late-night crossing, consider Huanggang Port, but it does not connect directly to the metro and requires a cross-border bus or taxi.

- Standard adult fare from Admiralty to Lo Wu or Lok Ma Chau using an Octopus card is HK$52.2 (approx GBP 5.25).
- To save money, exit at Fanling or Sheung Shui, then re-enter for the next train to Lo Wu/Lok Ma Chau. Total fare HK$48.7 (approx GBP 4.90), saving HK$3.5.
- Travel time: Admiralty to Lok Ma Chau ~50 minutes, Admiralty to Lo Wu ~44 minutes.
