Macau Metro, Macau Light Rapid Transit (LRT), East Asian Games Station

The Macau Light Rapid Transit (LRT) is the easiest way to travel between key areas such as Taipa, Cotai, Hengqin and Seac Pai Van. It is clean, modern, and easy to use, making it a good choice for both first-time visitors and regular travellers.

This guide covers the latest Macau LRT map, operating hours, ticket fares and payment options, plus clear tips on how to ride the LRT. Whether you are heading to casinos, resorts, border crossings or sightseeing spots, the LRT helps you get around Macau with less hassle.

Macau Light Rapid Transit (LRT) Map

Macau Light Rapid Transit (LRT) Map

Macau does not have a traditional metro system like Guangzhou or Hong Kong. Instead, the city uses the Macau Light Rapid Transit (LRT), which is the main rail transport for visitors and locals. The LRT is clean, easy to use, and especially convenient for travelling between Taipa, Cotai, the airport and border areas. It is a good choice for tourists staying in resort and casino zones.

At present, three LRT lines are in operation. The Taipa Line is the core route and the most useful for visitors, linking Taipa Ferry Terminal, Macau International Airport, Cotai resorts, sports venues and residential areas. The Seac Pai Van Line extends service to the southern part of Coloane, making it easier to reach quieter residential and local neighbourhoods. The newest Hengqin Line, opened in December 2024, connects Taipa directly to Hengqin Port, allowing smooth transfers between Macau and mainland China.

More lines are under development to improve coverage. The East Line, expected to open around 2028, will connect the Macau Peninsula with Taipa, serving busy border areas and city districts. Future West and South Lines are also planned to further link the peninsula, inner harbour areas and tourism zones.

  • *Fare information is based on official Macau LRT data and may change without notice.
  • Each sea crossing section counts as two stations, including Barra to Ocean Station and Hengqin to Lotus Station.
  • For trips involving Seac Pai Van Station or Union Hospital Station, Union Hospital Station is counted as one station.
  • Children under 1 metre in height travel free, but must be accompanied by an adult.
  • Single journey tickets are valid only on the day of purchase.

For longer regional journeys, such as travelling between Macau, Zhuhai or other Greater Bay Area cities, high speed rail and intercity trains are usually much faster than urban rail and are worth considering for time saving travel.

This was my first time staying at Ponte 16, and the hotel's overall decor is high-end and luxurious, exuding quality. Jennifer at the front desk was exceptionally warm and attentive. Check-in was efficient and smooth, and she listened carefully to our needs, specifically arranging a sea-view room with an amazing view. The room was clean, tidy, and spacious, making our stay very comfortable. When we asked about local cha chaan tengs, she recommended 'Kam Yuk Mun Tong' (Golden Jade Full House), which had authentic flavors and generous portions – we were very satisfied. The next day during check-out, I asked a cleaning lady for some tape, and she not only readily helped but also spontaneously gave me a large fabric bag. She was incredibly friendly and kind. From check-in to check-out, the service was meticulous and attentive throughout, making for a truly excellent experience. I'll definitely choose to stay here again next time I visit!

The connecting room was perfect for our family of three adults, and having two bathrooms was super convenient. **Amenities:** All the disposable toiletries were well-stocked. Just a heads-up, the mini-bar water is chargeable, and there's a sign indicating that. **Cleanliness:** Spotless! It felt like the first day we checked in, every single day. **Environment:** Beautiful surroundings, and the bus stop for route 16 right outside the hotel was very handy. **Service:** The air conditioning wasn't cooling well, but after reporting it, staff came to check immediately and informed us that engineering would fix it. Very quick response time. We also had dinner at the hotel, and the restaurant staff were very thorough in explaining the dishes. The food was excellent, portions were generous, and we even got a discount. We'll definitely be staying here again on our next visit!

The location is excellent! It's right next to Wynn, which usually has the mesmerizing 'Tree of Prosperity' and 'Performance Lake' shows (though I missed them this time due to maintenance). Across the street is the Grand Lisboa. It's about an 800-meter walk to major attractions like the Ruins of St. Paul's and St. Dominic's Church. On the way to St. Dominic's, you'll pass Chee Kei Egg Waffles – you absolutely *must* try one, they're the best I've ever had! Most of the attractions on the Macau Peninsula are within walking distance or just a few bus stops away. If you're not planning on visiting The Londoner or Venetian, this is the perfect place to stay. It's also about a 700-meter walk to MGM, where you should definitely try their complimentary bubble tea; it's quite good!

Extremely clean, and the front desk staff were very friendly. They even upgraded us to a deluxe room for free! The location is fantastic, within walking distance to famous attractions like the Ruins of St. Paul's, St. Lazarus' Church District (Rua de São Lázaro), and Sneaker Street. Right across the street is the famous Soufflé restaurant, Belle Époque. There are also two cha chaan tengs (Hong Kong-style cafes) and a 7-Eleven right next door. Highly recommend staying here!

It was super convenient to get to the hotel from Hengqin Port by car. There were no crowds, so no waiting in line, and check-in was smooth. After dropping off my luggage, I took another car to Gongbei Port to change hotels and explore the Macau Peninsula. On my way back, I took the hotel car to the airport. There's a bus stop right outside the hotel, and taxis are also easy to find. The hotel service goes above and beyond to make things convenient, making my stay a real pleasure.

This was my second stay here and it was perfect! The official check-in time is 3 PM, but I arrived earlier around noon. The front desk staff noticed there was a vacant room and let me check in right away. They even had my luggage sent directly to the room, which was a huge help because the place is quite large and it would have been a trek to carry it myself. The staff also provided a hotel map and some delicious welcome pastries. All in all, I'll definitely be back!

The room was excellent: spacious, clean, bright, and very comfortable. The Wi-Fi worked perfectly, and there were no issues with the room itself or the comfort of the stay. However, the level of welcome was completely inconsistent with the hotel's standard and price. First, they required a deposit upon check-in. This seems odd for a hotel of this category, especially since they simply refuse to let you in without one. Second, check-in is only until 3:00 PM. For me, that's quite late—I travel a lot, and at hotels of this caliber, I often find more flexible or early check-in. Overall, the room itself and the accommodations were very good, but the check-in process left a bad impression.

The hotel's location is excellent. There's a bus stop right outside, and taxis are plentiful. It's only about a 10-15 minute drive to the airport. To the right of the hotel entrance, you'll find a 7-Eleven and another supermarket, along with McDonald's and other dining options. It's about a 10-minute walk to the Grand Lisboa, and there's a bus stop directly across from the Grand Lisboa, making public transport very convenient. The New Yaohan department store is roughly a 20-minute walk away. Unlike other hotels, this place isn't noisy or crowded; it's very quiet. I would definitely consider staying here again on my next trip to Macau.

The hotel was great, and the location was fantastic. We stayed for two nights and had a really good experience. The room was more spacious than we expected, and the floor-to-ceiling windows offered a stunning river view, especially beautiful at sunset. The housekeeping was very thorough; there wasn't even a single water stain in the bathroom corners. The breakfast selection was extensive, and the freshly cooked noodles were a pleasant surprise. To celebrate our anniversary, we decided to bring our child for a one-night stay in Macau and chose the Studio City Celebrity Tower without hesitation. Right from exiting the port, we could take the free shuttle bus directly to the hotel. The hotel is conveniently located next to the Lotus Light Rail Station, making it easy to reach various attractions. What was most heartwarming was that after we mentioned it was our anniversary, the hotel decorated our room beautifully and even gave us a small cake. There were also snacks in the room, perfect for a quick bite after exploring. Downstairs, there's a kids' play area, a water park, Pop Mart, and Don Don Donki, so you can easily spend half a day just within the hotel. Keya and Jim at the front desk were exceptional. We had a new born baby travelling with us and Keya was extremely well mannered by coordinating bell service and walked with us in to our beautifully baby-prepped room and showed us key amenities to enhance our stay -eg baby bottle warmer, kids towel, slippers, kids dental kit, shampoo/shower gel etc. The shopping arcade in the Galaxy Promenade was absolutely stunning, so clean and grand. Food selection was great and there is a huge Apple Store inside. Galaxy hotel also has a top tier hotel-guest only kids play area which is one of the best in the area. As a bonus, Galaxy hotel is located not too far from traditional old city streets with lots of top street food and historical building to take pictures (Rue de Cunha and surrounding areas). The room was nice; I booked a sea-view room. My daughter and I used to come here when she was little. Back then, it was quite new, with a beautiful and very comfortable environment, and it was called The Westin Resort Macau. Originally, The Westin Resort Macau opened in 1993 and was renovated in 2004. In 2013, it won the Silver Award in the 'Macau Green Hotel Award.' In 2020, it was rebranded as the Grand Coloane Resort. Now, under new management, the attention to detail in the decor is not as good as before, and it hasn't been redecorated, so it feels a bit dated. However, its unique location, right by Hac Sa Beach, makes it perfect for a family vacation away from the hustle and bustle. The original hotel architecture and garden design still retain that holiday vibe. I'll definitely come back, hoping for some improvements, especially with the details.

This is my second time staying at the Grand Lapa, and this time I brought my family for a weekend trip to Macau to enjoy the local cuisine. Our flight was delayed, so we didn't arrive at the hotel until after midnight. The front desk staff kindly upgraded our room after confirming our check-in details, which was a pleasant surprise and made me anticipate a wonderful stay. My premonition was indeed accurate! We opted for the hotel's breakfast buffet, and while the variety wasn't extensive, the chef's culinary skills were excellent, especially the curry beef brisket, which my family and I all loved. The service, as always, was impeccable and attentive 👍🏻. If I had to point out a flaw, there were a few minor issues: some of the equipment might be a bit old. There was a faint buzzing sound in the suite, especially noticeable at night, which didn't seem to come from the AC vent. This definitely needs to be looked into! Shuttle 🚗: The hotel is located near Fisherman's Wharf, with a bus stop right outside the door. Bus 3A goes directly to Border Gate. The hotel doesn't offer a shuttle from Border Gate, but you can take the Sands or Jai Alai shuttles, and it's just a few minutes' walk from there. However, the hotel does offer free shuttle services to other hotels and Border Gate starting at noon, but you need to inform the lobby staff 15 minutes in advance. Cleanliness: It was clean and hygienic, a decent stay. The weekday price offers good value for money. Facilities: The bathroom has a bathtub and a separate wet and dry shower area, and the water pressure was excellent, which I really appreciated. However, items like hangers were a bit hidden 🤣, and it took me a while to find them. Environment: The surrounding area is close to Lotus Square, the harbor, and Fisherman's Wharf, as well as residential areas and casinos. The hotel's Golden Dragon Restaurant and Golden Tree Japanese Restaurant really won me over 😆 – delicious food, and hotel guests even get a 10% discount. Service: Whether it was the front desk staff, the doormen, customer service, or the shuttle drivers, everyone's attitude was excellent 👍👍👍

This is my 3rd stay at W Hotel Macau and this time was for my wedding preperation. The 2nd time we stayed here was when we got engaged so now W Hotel is our go to for special occasions. I booked this room at the very last minute and the room type I wanted was no longer available in the Marriott app hence I called the Reservations team. Agent Angel was very patient in helping me book and confirm my room requirements even if it was already past 18:30. I requested for a room ending in 20 as my priority was the view and when I checked in the next day, the team were able to meet my requirements and at the same time upgrade me. Front Office Agent Brian was very kind during the check-in process and the whole process was smooth. Since the room type I wanted was not available in the Marriott App, I booked via Trip.com. I do hope in the future, even if booked via third party, there is still a way to use my Marriott membership so the points are not wasted.
We ate twice at Hakwer Hawker for breakfast and the staff who seated us were nice. Food selection and taste were good. Overall service was good. IRD also came into our room to give us champagne and chocolate strawberries as a welcome gift. On the night of my wedding, I was waiting for our car at the lobby and one of the FO agents noticed me and approached me if I needed anything or a glass of water. My experience this time was a lot better compared to my previous stay. I also appreciate that everytime we stayed, we are offered a turndown service (which is not offered to us all the time when we stayed at other 5-star hotels in Macau). Overall, I'm really happy with my stay at W Hotel Macau.

This time, I brought my 88-year-old mother for a relaxing getaway, and we even captured the most beautiful sunset over the sea. The breakfast was incredibly rich and delicious, with both Chinese and Western delicacies that we both enjoyed. We also indulged in the hotel's sea salt bubble bath and booked a handmade essential oil soap-making session. Our goal was simply to enjoy the tranquility, elegance, and the unique all-sea-view environment – a perfect serene escape amidst the bustling Macau.

One of the most iconic buildings in Asian (one of the ugliest too??) with a great view over the lake from the room. A lot of options for foodies and the food quality was high. Service was good even before the holiday. However, if you are looking for a relaxing and zen holiday, this would not be ideal. The lobby is always packed; it looks like a train station. The interior design of the room... I am not capable of appreciating it (yet). Love the in-room steam shower very much.

I enjoyed staying at the Wynn Hotel. The staff were very friendly, the service was excellent, the room was clean, and the location was strategic. When I walked out of the hotel and returned to it in the evening, I felt calm, like I was back home. I would definitely stay at the Wynn Hotel again.
