The Macau Light Rapid Transit (LRT) is the easiest way to travel between key areas such as Taipa, Cotai, Hengqin and Seac Pai Van. It is clean, modern, and easy to use, making it a good choice for both first-time visitors and regular travellers.

Macau Light Rapid Transit (LRT) Map
Macau does not have a traditional metro system like Guangzhou or Hong Kong. Instead, the city uses the Macau Light Rapid Transit (LRT), which is the main rail transport for visitors and locals. The LRT is clean, easy to use, and especially convenient for travelling between Taipa, Cotai, the airport and border areas. It is a good choice for tourists staying in resort and casino zones.
At present, three LRT lines are in operation. The Taipa Line is the core route and the most useful for visitors, linking Taipa Ferry Terminal, Macau International Airport, Cotai resorts, sports venues and residential areas. The Seac Pai Van Line extends service to the southern part of Coloane, making it easier to reach quieter residential and local neighbourhoods. The newest Hengqin Line, opened in December 2024, connects Taipa directly to Hengqin Port, allowing smooth transfers between Macau and mainland China.
More lines are under development to improve coverage. The East Line, expected to open around 2028, will connect the Macau Peninsula with Taipa, serving busy border areas and city districts. Future West and South Lines are also planned to further link the peninsula, inner harbour areas and tourism zones.

Most Macau LRT services run from 6:30 AM to around 11:15 PM on weekdays, with extended service until 11:59 PM on weekends and public holidays. Trains run frequently, but it is still best to check official notices for real time updates.

Important Notes
- *Fare information is based on official Macau LRT data and may change without notice.
- Each sea crossing section counts as two stations, including Barra to Ocean Station and Hengqin to Lotus Station.
- For trips involving Seac Pai Van Station or Union Hospital Station, Union Hospital Station is counted as one station.
- Children under 1 metre in height travel free, but must be accompanied by an adult.
- Single journey tickets are valid only on the day of purchase.
For longer regional journeys, such as travelling between Macau, Zhuhai or other Greater Bay Area cities, high speed rail and intercity trains are usually much faster than urban rail and are worth considering for time saving travel.

How to Buy Macau LRT Tickets?
Macau Light Rapid Transit (LRT) is easy to use, but payment options are a little different from mainland China.
Tickets can be bought at Ticket Vending Machines or at the Customer Service Centre inside each LRT station. Machines are simple to use, but mostly accept cash and LRT Cards, while service counters offer more flexible payment options for visitors.

How to Ride Macau LRT?
1. Plan Your Route 🗺️
Check which line and station you need. Macau LRT currently has Taipa Line, Seac Pai Van Line and Hengqin Line. Route maps are shown at stations and on electronic screens.
2. Buy a Ticket or Prepare Payment 🎫💳
You have a few easy options:

3. Enter the Station 🚪
Go through the entry gate:

Follow station signs to the correct platform.
- Taipa Line: about every 5–10 minutes

Stand behind the safety line and let passengers get off first.
5. Ride the LRT 🚈
Board in an orderly way. Trains are clean and quiet, with seats and handrails.
Wheelchair spaces are available near the doors. For views, try the front or rear cars.

The hotel's location is super convenient, with a bus stop right outside. Senado Square is just a 10-minute walk away, and there are plenty of good eateries nearby.
Breakfast was plentiful, offering both Chinese and Western options. The Chinese selection leaned towards Cantonese cuisine, and all the egg dishes were delicious.

I stayed here back in 2023 during the pandemic and had a good experience, so I decided to come back. I never expected to get bitten this time. When I checked in that night, I noticed a stale smell, but I didn't think much of it. About fifteen minutes after getting into bed, my thigh started itching, and a white bump appeared. I thought it was just an allergy and ignored it. Around 6 AM, I woke up to an incredibly itchy bump on my arm, which was also white initially. When I checked out, I mentioned it to the front desk. They suggested I might be allergic to the bedding and offered a free room upgrade for my next visit. However, that very night, itchy bumps appeared on both of my thighs, and I ended up with about five or six similar bumps on my body. Even after applying 999 Piyanping (a common cream for skin issues), they didn't go away. I asked ChatGPT, and it said it was most likely fleas. I've stayed in many hotels, but I've never encountered anything like this. The hotel's service is good, but I can't overlook this hygiene issue. Check-in time at Macau hotels is 3 PM. We arrived early, and the front desk staff informed us that the earliest we could check in would be after 2 PM, suggesting we could dine at the small shop across from the hotel.
We opted for a high-floor room, and the view was great. Across the sea, we could see Zhuhai's office buildings. Looking down, there was a fountain and a swimming pool. Both the daytime and nighttime views were lovely. The room also had good soundproofing.
The restaurant had a pleasant dining environment, not too many people, quiet and comfortable. The breakfast buffet and the semi-buffet for lunch were both quite good.

Sitting on the 'Golden Bus' (shuttle bus) and admiring the spectacular bridge and endless ocean is truly a delight. On this trip across the sea, I was lucky enough to spot some dolphins. These sea sprites were incredibly cute, but unfortunately, my hands weren't fast enough to capture them flipping around, so I missed the chance to photograph them. Hotels in Macau are so much better than those in Hong Kong, honestly. For a similar or even lower price, you get a much bigger room. I've stayed at the Londoner in Taipa before, but if you're looking to explore the old streets rather than just shopping malls and casinos, staying on the Macau Peninsula, in the old town, is much more convenient. This time, I chose the New Orient Landmark; it wasn't expensive, and the room was quite spacious. While it's not brand new, it's well-maintained. The room even came with a dehumidifier. It's a short walk to Wynn Macau, Lisboa, and Grand Lisboa. Strolling to the Ruins of St. Paul's and Rua de Cinco de Outubro is also easy. There are also buses nearby to Coloane and other areas. Really, the entire old town isn't that big; it feels like everything is within a three-kilometer radius. If you enjoy walking, you can get everywhere on foot. The room was a bit old, but the staff was very friendly. However, before going to bed, I found a bloodstain on the pillowcase. I reported it to the staff, and they apologized immediately. But an hour later, they kept asking me if I was injured and that's how the blood got there. I actually had no superficial wounds at all, which made me very angry 😤.

My wife and I stayed at Wynn Macau again from June 7-9, 2026. We returned because of our satisfying first experience.
The front desk staff were attentive and polite, and they upgraded our room. The room was luxurious, spacious, and spotless, looking as good as new and well-maintained.
At 'Wing Lei' restaurant, both breakfast and dinner offered exquisite food with a wide variety of choices at reasonable prices. Enjoying a coffee or beer at 'Wing Lei Bar' during leisure time was a delightful pleasure.
I must especially mention that after checking out, I realized I had left my phone in the safe. Fortunately, the hotel team safely kept it, and with Ms. Mak Tsz Kuen (Manager)'s prompt contact and thoughtful arrangements, I was able to retrieve my phone. Many thanks!

Attending a conference at Galaxy Arena in Macau. It's very convenient to get around, and there's a 24-hour San Miu Supermarket nearby. They also offer a shuttle service to Hengqin Port, which is super handy. The price was great too, and breakfast was decent with fruits and vegetables. Cunha Street is also close by.FromRUB 3,338

The room was clean and bright, conveniently located, and well-equipped. Check-in was smooth, and Yang Xiaojun, a lovely lady, showed us to room 1333, which was spacious and bright, and we were very happy with it. A big thank you to Yang Xiaojun for preparing fruit and gifts in the room – it was a touching gesture! Definitely five-star worthy.
