Macau Metro, Macau Light Rapid Transit (LRT), East Asian Games Station

The Macau Light Rapid Transit (LRT) is the easiest way to travel between key areas such as Taipa, Cotai, Hengqin and Seac Pai Van. It is clean, modern, and easy to use, making it a good choice for both first-time visitors and regular travellers.

This guide covers the latest Macau LRT map, operating hours, ticket fares and payment options, plus clear tips on how to ride the LRT. Whether you are heading to casinos, resorts, border crossings or sightseeing spots, the LRT helps you get around Macau with less hassle.

Macau Light Rapid Transit (LRT) Map

Macau Light Rapid Transit (LRT) Map

Macau does not have a traditional metro system like Guangzhou or Hong Kong. Instead, the city uses the Macau Light Rapid Transit (LRT), which is the main rail transport for visitors and locals. The LRT is clean, easy to use, and especially convenient for travelling between Taipa, Cotai, the airport and border areas. It is a good choice for tourists staying in resort and casino zones.

At present, three LRT lines are in operation. The Taipa Line is the core route and the most useful for visitors, linking Taipa Ferry Terminal, Macau International Airport, Cotai resorts, sports venues and residential areas. The Seac Pai Van Line extends service to the southern part of Coloane, making it easier to reach quieter residential and local neighbourhoods. The newest Hengqin Line, opened in December 2024, connects Taipa directly to Hengqin Port, allowing smooth transfers between Macau and mainland China.

More lines are under development to improve coverage. The East Line, expected to open around 2028, will connect the Macau Peninsula with Taipa, serving busy border areas and city districts. Future West and South Lines are also planned to further link the peninsula, inner harbour areas and tourism zones.

Important Notes

  • *Fare information is based on official Macau LRT data and may change without notice.
  • Each sea crossing section counts as two stations, including Barra to Ocean Station and Hengqin to Lotus Station.
  • For trips involving Seac Pai Van Station or Union Hospital Station, Union Hospital Station is counted as one station.
  • Children under 1 metre in height travel free, but must be accompanied by an adult.
  • Single journey tickets are valid only on the day of purchase.

For longer regional journeys, such as travelling between Macau, Zhuhai or other Greater Bay Area cities, high speed rail and intercity trains are usually much faster than urban rail and are worth considering for time saving travel.

I requested a high-floor, quiet room, but despite being upgraded to a sea view, I was given a low-floor room right next to a noisy fan. The booming sound kept me awake almost all night until I switched rooms. There's an old street across the road with plenty of dining options, which is convenient. However, the buses outside are always packed, making it almost impossible to get on; you'll have to rely on walking or taking a taxi. The room had a slightly damp smell. If you're looking to shop, I wouldn't recommend staying here.

I've stayed at this hotel both times I've visited Macau. The environment is lovely, away from the casinos, and it's great value for money. You get direct views of the sea-crossing bridge. However, transportation isn't very convenient. When I was leaving, a taxi I'd ordered was taken by another guest, and I couldn't get another one. I ended up having to take a bus to the Grand Lisboa and then a taxi from there, almost missing my ferry back. The hotel's homemade egg tarts are delicious, sold on the ground floor, 60 for half a dozen.

True to its reputation as an established five-star hotel, it was an excellent stay! The bellboy proactively helped with my luggage, and the service was very warm and friendly. They even gave me a free room upgrade! Every staff member I encountered would nod and greet me, and also reminded me about steps. My non-smoking room didn't have any smoke smell, and it was very clean. The only minor drawback was that the soundproofing in the hallway wasn't particularly great. I'll definitely choose this place again next time! 😊

The hotel facilities are quite old, with frayed towels, and the overall experience doesn't live up to a five-star standard; it felt more like a guesthouse. The bed was narrow, even worse than the transit hotel provided by the airline previously. The front desk staff weren't very familiar with transportation information; they didn't know about the direct bus service from the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macau Bridge Macau Port to the restricted area of Hong Kong Airport, which doesn't require entering Hong Kong. For a hotel in a tourist city, the staff could definitely improve their knowledge of transport details. On the plus side, the location is great, not far from Senado Square, and within walking distance.

Facilities: The bathroom door in our room was a bit old, but everything else was great. Cleanliness: The housekeeping staff did a fantastic job, very clean. Environment: Very good, almost no strange smells or trash. Service: The hotel staff were very friendly and enthusiastic, not perfunctory at all, and actively helped with directions. Eiffel Tower 7th floor free entry: Although you can't go to the very top, there's a Pop Mart photo spot on the 7th floor.

My stay at The Venetian Macao was absolutely beautiful and truly memorable. From the moment we arrived, the staff were friendly, welcoming, and incredibly helpful, which made the whole experience feel smooth and enjoyable. The room was amazing — spacious, comfortable, and elegant, with lovely details that made the stay feel luxurious and relaxing. One of the highlights was the stunning light show, which created such a magical atmosphere and added to the overall experience. The shopping was also incredible, with so many stores, restaurants, and things to see, making it easy to spend hours exploring without getting bored. Traveling to and from the hotel was extremely convenient. The ferry shuttles were easy to find, well organized, and very affordable, which made getting around Macau simple and stress-free. Overall, The Venetian Macao exceeded expectations — a beautiful destination with excellent service, amazing facilities, and a truly enjoyable atmosphere. I would definitely recommend it and would love to stay again.

The room was excellent: spacious, clean, bright, and very comfortable. The Wi-Fi worked perfectly, and there were no issues with the room itself or the comfort of the stay. However, the level of welcome was completely inconsistent with the hotel's standard and price. First, they required a deposit upon check-in. This seems odd for a hotel of this category, especially since they simply refuse to let you in without one. Second, check-in is only until 3:00 PM. For me, that's quite late—I travel a lot, and at hotels of this caliber, I often find more flexible or early check-in. Overall, the room itself and the accommodations were very good, but the check-in process left a bad impression.

I've stayed here countless times, it's my top pick for value for money! Although it's been open for many years, the hygiene is still good! You can take the bus across to the Sands, and it's very close to the Science Center and the Kun Iam Ecumenical Centre. There are also plenty of food options nearby! It's such great value for money! The only downside is the breakfast; they only offer free breakfast for a child if two adults are present. For someone like me, whose husband doesn't eat breakfast, it's not very cost-effective to pay for my child, especially since they only eat a few bites.

This time, I made a last-minute booking at Holiday Inn Macau. During check-in, Mr. Wang at the front desk was professional and efficient. After understanding my situation, he proactively upgraded me to an executive floor suite. He wasn't overtly enthusiastic, but his attention to detail made me feel genuinely valued. It happened to be the fourth day of the ***** New Year, and in the morning, the hotel had a lion dance and a 'God of Wealth' performance. The atmosphere was lively but not chaotic – a nice, ceremonial touch. The executive floor was relatively quiet, making for a comfortable and relaxing stay overall. What truly left an impression on me was what happened afterward. After checking out, I realized I had left my ring in the room, which naturally made me anxious. Upon contacting the hotel, the housekeeping manager quickly helped confirm its location and retrieve it. The entire communication process was efficient, and the sense of reassurance brought by such professionalism was more important than any physical amenity.

Traveling to Macau with kids, this hotel's recreational facilities are simply amazing. You can literally spend an entire day here without stepping out, making it perfect for both couples and families. Don't miss the iconic Golden Reel, an 8-shaped Ferris wheel built into the hotel's architecture. It offers 360-degree panoramic views of Macau, and when the lights come on at night, it's incredibly romantic. The hotel also boasts a large, heated water park, perfect for all seasons, complete with slides and a wave pool – a true paradise for family fun. Beyond that, there's a cinema, shopping mall, gym, the WET heated pool, and a spa. If you're tired from exploring, the spa is a great place to relax. In the evening, the poolside is perfect for photoshoots – every shot looks like it's from a magazine! And to top it off, you can enjoy a drink at the bar with stunning night views. ✨ An Unforgettable One-Night Stay, Perfected by Shirley's Kindness! ✨ ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Where do I even begin? My one-night stay at the Grand Lisboa Palace was nothing short of spectacular, and it was all thanks to a truly magical start at the front desk. From the moment I walked into the breathtaking, art-filled lobby, I knew I was somewhere special. But the true highlight of my entire trip was being greeted by Shirley at the check-in counter. 🤩 Her warm, genuine smile immediately put me at ease after my journey. To my utter delight and complete surprise, she kindly informed me that I had been upgraded from a Deluxe Room to a suite! 🥳🎉 This wasn't just a simple room change; it felt like being handed the golden ticket to an entirely new level of luxury. Thank you, Shirley, for your incredible generosity – you are a true asset to the Grand Lisboa Palace and the reason my stay was so memorable! And what a suite it was! 🏰 The room was staggeringly beautiful, blending modern luxury with intricate Portuguese-inspired details. The space was massive, the bed was a cloud ☁️, and the marble bathroom with its deep soaking tub was pure bliss. 🛁 The panoramic views of Macau from the window were the cherry on top! 🌆 Beyond the incredible room, the hotel itself is a destination. The architecture is a masterpiece, like a modern European palace. I spent time just wandering the halls, admiring the stunning art installations and the majestic, crystal-domed atrium. It’s a feast for the eyes! 🎨✨ While my stay was short, I made sure to enjoy their wonderful facilities: · The Indoor Pool: It is absolutely beautiful! 😍✨ So serene and elegant, with a classic design that makes you feel like you're swimming in a luxury spa. The perfect place to relax and unwind. 🏊♀️💫 · The Grand Buffet: The breakfast spread was incredible – a global journey for the taste buds with so many fresh, high-quality options. 🍳🍣🥐 · The Spectacle: Just being in the complex felt grand and exclusive. It’s more than a hotel; it’s an entertainment and art empire. I truly did not want to leave. From the world-class facilities to the stunning design, every detail was perfect. But it’s the people who make a place unforgettable, and Shirley’s kindness at the front desk set the tone for a perfect 5-star experience. This hotel is located on the southeast side of Macau Peninsula's old town, close to the sea. The rooms, lobby, and hallways are all luxurious and grand, with golden decorations and a magnificent golden dragon coiling around the dome. It's a 4-star luxury hotel that feels more like a 5-star. The guest rooms are quite spacious, and during Chinese New Year, they provided complimentary drinks and snacks, which was a nice touch. There's a bus stop right outside the hotel, making it convenient to get to many popular tourist attractions. For food, there are plenty of traditional eateries offering Portuguese egg tarts, pork chop buns, Portuguese and Hong Kong-style cafes, and old family-run shops, all with excellent flavors. On the morning of the eighth day of Chinese New Year, when I checked out, the female manager at the front desk, dressed in a black suit, proactively asked about my airport transfer and helped me call a taxi. She also informed me about the estimated fare, and when she learned I didn't have small change, she kindly exchanged some MOP for me. The taxi arrived quickly, and two male bellhops helped me put my luggage in the trunk. The manager even came to the hotel entrance to remind me not to forget my luggage when getting off and waved goodbye. Her genuine and enthusiastic service was truly exceptional. We also indulged in the hotel's sea salt bubble bath and booked a handmade essential oil soap-making session. Our goal was simply to enjoy the tranquility, elegance, and the unique all-sea-view environment – a perfect serene escape amidst the bustling Macau.

Booked this room for the second time as it is really convenient to everywhere. New Yaohan, Senado Square etc. Many small eateries and shops around the corner. Room is huge and I love the amenities and facilities provided by the hotel. Daily breakfast set was flavorful too with some Chinese dimsum / local variety.

This was my second stay at Wynn, and the experience was a bit disappointing. I arrived at 1:30 PM to check in, but was told rooms wouldn't be ready until 3:00 PM. When I returned at 3:10 PM, the room still hadn't been cleaned, and I eventually only got into my room closer to 4:00 PM. During check-in, I was asked if I preferred a smoking room, which I confirmed. However, when I received my room key, I was told the reservation notes indicated a non-smoking room, which was quite frustrating. On a different note, the mini-bar drinks in the room are advertised as complimentary. However, there's a small print notice at the bottom stating that if any item is removed for more than 60 seconds, it will be automatically charged to the room.
