Macau Light Rapid Transit (LRT) Map
Macau does not have a traditional metro system like Guangzhou or Hong Kong. Instead, the city uses the Macau Light Rapid Transit (LRT), which is the main rail transport for visitors and locals. The LRT is clean, easy to use, and especially convenient for travelling between Taipa, Cotai, the airport and border areas. It is a good choice for tourists staying in resort and casino zones.
At present, three LRT lines are in operation. The Taipa Line is the core route and the most useful for visitors, linking Taipa Ferry Terminal, Macau International Airport, Cotai resorts, sports venues and residential areas. The Seac Pai Van Line extends service to the southern part of Coloane, making it easier to reach quieter residential and local neighbourhoods. The newest Hengqin Line, opened in December 2024, connects Taipa directly to Hengqin Port, allowing smooth transfers between Macau and mainland China.
More lines are under development to improve coverage. The East Line, expected to open around 2028, will connect the Macau Peninsula with Taipa, serving busy border areas and city districts. Future West and South Lines are also planned to further link the peninsula, inner harbour areas and tourism zones.

Most Macau LRT services run from 6:30 AM to around 11:15 PM on weekdays, with extended service until 11:59 PM on weekends and public holidays. Trains run frequently, but it is still best to check official notices for real time updates.

Coming from Hong Kong by ferry, the hotel's location right next to the pier made check-in incredibly convenient; it was just a 10-minute walk.
The hotel is very large, like a castle. The room I stayed in was on the 3rd floor and had a musty smell, perhaps because it hadn't been occupied for a while or due to its proximity to the sea. Everything else was quite good, but don't expect a great view from the sea view room – the water is very murky and not particularly beautiful. The hotel staff were exceptionally warm and friendly, big thumbs up for their service!

We arrive in the evening and room ready for check in. No q. The hotel has 3 restaurant ..Chinese japanese and Portuguese. We saw them crowded. The room are comfort and clean. The hotel is very close to Sands Macao. You can take a taxi to Sands, then walk about 7-8 minutes to the hotel. Behind the hotel, there's a Polytechnic University, and next to it is the Grand Prix Museum. It's a quiet location despite being in a busy area. There's a bus stop right in front of the hotel, and you can walk to the Ruins of St. Paul's in about half an hour. The rooms are very clean, and the facilities are well-maintained and feel new. One of the most iconic buildings in Asian (one of the ugliest too??) with a great view over the lake from the room. A lot of options for foodies and the food quality was high. Service was good even before the holiday. However, if you are looking for a relaxing and zen holiday, this would not be ideal. The lobby is always packed; it looks like a train station. This was my second stay at Wynn, and the experience was a bit disappointing. I arrived at 1:30 PM to check in, but was told rooms wouldn't be ready until 3:00 PM. When I returned at 3:10 PM, the room still hadn't been cleaned, and I eventually only got into my room closer to 4:00 PM. During check-in, I was asked if I preferred a smoking room, which I confirmed. However, when I received my room key, I was told the reservation notes indicated a non-smoking room, which was quite frustrating. On a different note, the mini-bar drinks in the room are advertised as complimentary. I have to say, the design of MGM Cotai is truly artistic; walking through the atrium always feels like a treat. Check-in is strictly after 3 PM, but you can get in line about ten minutes early. The young man who checked me in was very friendly and helpful. However, the short-haired young lady at the next counter, who was assisting an elderly couple, seemed less competent. She struggled to explain things clearly and even had to call over a colleague for help. Later, when I checked out, it happened to be her again. My room charges were over by 0.6 MOP, and she insisted I pay the difference. As I was getting my money out, another young man at an adjacent counter, who was helping another guest, immediately said it wasn't necessary to pay. The difference in service experience was quite significant. She really needs to improve her work efficiency. My room was cleaned daily, and there was also a turndown service. However, the air conditioning in my room was incredibly noisy, so I couldn't use it at all during my stay; otherwise, I wouldn't have been able to sleep. Room service was always responsive and very quick. If I have the chance, I might choose MGM Cotai again.FromTHB 18,986
