Macau Metro, Macau Light Rapid Transit (LRT), East Asian Games Station

The Macau Light Rapid Transit (LRT) is the easiest way to travel between key areas such as Taipa, Cotai, Hengqin and Seac Pai Van. It is clean, modern, and easy to use, making it a good choice for both first-time visitors and regular travellers.

This guide covers the latest Macau LRT map, operating hours, ticket fares and payment options, plus clear tips on how to ride the LRT. Whether you are heading to casinos, resorts, border crossings or sightseeing spots, the LRT helps you get around Macau with less hassle.

Macau Light Rapid Transit (LRT) Map

Macau Light Rapid Transit (LRT) Map

Macau does not have a traditional metro system like Guangzhou or Hong Kong. Instead, the city uses the Macau Light Rapid Transit (LRT), which is the main rail transport for visitors and locals. The LRT is clean, easy to use, and especially convenient for travelling between Taipa, Cotai, the airport and border areas. It is a good choice for tourists staying in resort and casino zones.

At present, three LRT lines are in operation. The Taipa Line is the core route and the most useful for visitors, linking Taipa Ferry Terminal, Macau International Airport, Cotai resorts, sports venues and residential areas. The Seac Pai Van Line extends service to the southern part of Coloane, making it easier to reach quieter residential and local neighbourhoods. The newest Hengqin Line, opened in December 2024, connects Taipa directly to Hengqin Port, allowing smooth transfers between Macau and mainland China.

More lines are under development to improve coverage. The East Line, expected to open around 2028, will connect the Macau Peninsula with Taipa, serving busy border areas and city districts. Future West and South Lines are also planned to further link the peninsula, inner harbour areas and tourism zones.

Important Notes

  • *Fare information is based on official Macau LRT data and may change without notice.
  • Each sea crossing section counts as two stations, including Barra to Ocean Station and Hengqin to Lotus Station.
  • For trips involving Seac Pai Van Station or Union Hospital Station, Union Hospital Station is counted as one station.
  • Children under 1 metre in height travel free, but must be accompanied by an adult.
  • Single journey tickets are valid only on the day of purchase.

For longer regional journeys, such as travelling between Macau, Zhuhai or other Greater Bay Area cities, high speed rail and intercity trains are usually much faster than urban rail and are worth considering for time saving travel.

Booked the family room with an adjoining kids' room. The room was quite spacious, and the night view of the Macau Tower from the sea-facing window was beautiful. They even gave us three delicious egg tarts! The only downside is that it's a bit out of the way, and the uphill walk can be tiring. However, there's a bus stop right in front of the hotel.

This hotel is located in the heart of the bustling commercial district, making it super convenient for getting around and shopping. The trendy, artistic decor is very unique, and the guest rooms are spacious and clean, equipped with all the latest smart technology. The bedding is soft, and the bathroom amenities are top-notch. The common areas include a pool and a gym, which are really practical. My only minor complaint is that the lower floors facing the street can be a bit noisy; higher floors offer a better experience. The front desk staff is very responsive, and overall, it offers great value for money, perfect for young travelers on a short stay.

Downstairs, there's a bus stop, restaurants, and convenience stores. You can also take a direct bus to Taipa Village. The hotel provides power outlets compatible with mainland Chinese standards. We first visited when my son was very young, and he absolutely loved their Q Cube and Water World. Now that my daughter is older, we decided to come back for another stay. Although there was a line at check-in, it moved very quickly, and we were attended to in no time. Zoe was also very efficient with the check-in process and was incredibly nice. Even though our room wasn't ready yet, we just went out for a walk and had a meal, and it was ready by the time we got back. The room with bunk beds is perfect for families with two kids; everyone gets their own space. There were even little gifts in the room, which the kids absolutely adored!

Also, special thanks to Zhao Manyu for patiently answering all my questions and helping me out when I needed it. First of all, a big thank you for the complimentary upgrade to two 1.5-meter beds. We were traveling with our kids to Macau for the summer holiday, and they slept really well. Although the hotel is a bit older, its location is excellent, just a 15-minute walk to the Ruins of St. Paul's. The kids had such a great time that they're already saying they want to come back next year and stay at this hotel again!

First time staying at this hotel! I'd passed by it before and thought it looked nice, so I took the opportunity to experience it this time! As soon as we entered the lobby, the front desk staff at check-in were very enthusiastic! They even upgraded our room! We were so touched! The room was great and very quiet! The sea view was private yet open. We originally booked without breakfast, but my family suggested we eat breakfast before heading back, so we bought two breakfast buffets at the lobby service desk. There were so many food choices, and the taste was excellent! A really good experience 👍 Hope to come again next time ☺️

The hotel's location is great, with plenty of restaurants, convenience stores, and supermarkets nearby on the ground floor. The only downside was the poor pricing on Trip.com. I had to cancel my reservation due to a change in plans, and Trip.com immediately charged me a 100 cancellation fee! When I asked the hotel front desk, they said I could check in or cancel without any issues. Soon after, I received calls from two customer service agents. The female agent was helpful and offered solutions, but the male agent was rude, saying, 'This is a fee charged by the agent; I'm helping you negotiate, understand?' It's ridiculous that a big platform like Trip.com has to defer to these 'agents'! No wonder people around me say Trip.com is going downhill and struggling. I will never use this terrible platform again.

This is a great hotel with excellent value for money. It's right next to the Sands Hotel; you can take the Sands shuttle from Gongbei Port, and after getting off, the hotel's back entrance is just across the road. It's also only a 10-minute walk to the Macao Science Center. If you want to explore the city center, public transport is convenient; to get to The Venetian, you can take a shuttle from the Sands Hotel. The hotel has a lovely Portuguese flair, with a swimming pool and a gym. The rooms remind me of the Royal Park Hotel in Hong Kong. The front desk staff were very polite, attentive, and warm. Seeing that I was traveling alone with my child, they proactively asked if I needed a king or twin beds and checked for available rooms for early check-in. When I needed extra water or pillows, housekeeping responded very quickly. The restaurant service was also great, with a nice Nanyang (Southeast Asian) style. Breakfast was busy, requiring a short wait, and the dishes were more Western, but my child said the bread and pastries were delicious, and there was a good selection of juices. The lobby staff were also excellent; they proactively opened doors for guests and even gently reminded children not to run in the lobby. The only thing I think could be improved is that the mattress and pillows are a bit too soft.

After a good night's sleep, we could even pop over to Rua do Cunha the next day, which is very close by. What I'll remember most is how incredibly comfortable the beds are at the Galaxy hotel. The room was beautiful and clean, and the service was absolutely fantastic. Truly five-star service! I booked the Grand Coloane Resort for my parents in Macau, and it completely showed me a different side of Macau, distinct from the bustling Cotai and Macau Peninsula. This area isn't close to busy commercial districts, but it boasts exclusive panoramic views of Hac Sa Beach in Coloane. Our room had an open-air balcony where we could directly enjoy the beach. The hotel itself features a classic Portuguese resort style, with spacious and grand architecture, lush gardens, and a strong tropical ambiance. While the hotel has been around for a while, the room's cleanliness was just so-so. There was actually a bunch of hair on the bed, making me question the thoroughness of the cleaning and even whether the bedding was changed after the last guest. The hotel's biggest highlight is its unique location. It's right next to Hac Sa Beach, just a few minutes' walk to the sea. Watching the sea in the morning and enjoying a stroll in the evening breeze were both very pleasant. Compared to the hustle and bustle of downtown Macau, this place is less crowded, quiet, and very private, making it ideal for family trips, relaxation, and a slow-paced vacation. The hotel's service was pretty good. There's a shuttle bus to the city, and the facilities are comprehensive and well-equipped, including garden relaxation areas, leisure trails, and sports fields, suitable for adults to relax and children to play. Overall, the Grand Coloane Resort is one of the most suitable hotels in Macau for a relaxing getaway. There are no crowds or commercial noise, just the sea, evening breezes, greenery, and a peaceful living environment. If I'm looking for a pure relaxation trip, despite the distance, I would consider staying here again, but only if the room's cleanliness is guaranteed!

They also gave me a subway card, which was unexpected. I didn't plan to take the light rail, but I experienced it and went to the Mazu Temple, which was very popular. The breakfast was OK, but not very good. There was one problem, the shower water temperature was unstable, and it was scalding from time to time. This is unacceptable for a hotel that costs 5,000 per night. In short, I didn't like it very much, nor did I dislike it very much. I probably won't book again.

We took a shuttle from Grand Lisboa Palace, where we had dinner and shopped, then caught another shuttle to Grand Lisboa, and it was just a 5-minute walk to the Metropark Hotel. There are restaurants next to the hotel, and on Rua de Outubro, behind the hotel, there's a bus that goes directly to the Border Gate, making transportation very convenient. The hotel is surprisingly quiet despite being in a bustling area. The rooms are clean, and the beds are very comfortable. I'm a native of Macau, and I booked a room for a friend. I think the cleanliness and environment of Macau's hotels are excellent. Although the hotel is an old building, it's well-maintained and reasonably priced, so it's worth recommending. However, what disappointed me the most was the receptionist who helped me check in. Her attitude and handling of the situation were really bad. If I weren't so easygoing, I would have definitely yelled at her. She said I was too late, that the room I booked didn't have a single bed, and that I could only be given a twin bed. Hotel check-in is at 3 pm, and I came to check in at around 2:30 pm. Is that too late? Then, the person's expression and tone of attitude were extremely poor. There was no room type to choose from; there were no single beds available, only twin beds. After a few polite words, they said they would upgrade my room. Although they later said they would upgrade my room and arrange a double room, I still don't understand why the service could be so bad. In the Macau hotel industry, it's completely unacceptable. I went there to check in happily, but it left me feeling very unhappy. Although the hotel facilities are good, in the current situation, I might have fewer guests, yet they still provided this kind of service. My first impression of this hotel is that it has no good reputation, and I will not choose to stay here again. Thank you.

The room was generally okay. I booked the cheapest room for a bargain and paid an extra 50 to upgrade to a room with a window. The biggest advantage of this hotel is its excellent location, making it very convenient for shopping. The room's cleanliness was very good, but the floor drain wasn't sealed properly, leading to a noticeable bad odor. Also, the shower gel dispenser was hard to press; it only dispensed a pea-sized amount with each press, so you had to press it many times. The room size was neither too big nor too small, which is decent for the Hong Kong and Macau region. The TV was an older model, and there weren't many channels available. I didn't book breakfast, but there are plenty of convenient dining options nearby. Overall, if you're looking for great value, this is a good choice. I tried four drinks at the bar; honestly, one of them was quite mediocre, but the manager's service was excellent. He carefully followed up on the taste of the other drinks and even waived the charge for the mediocre one. The front desk staff, as always, maintained the Mandarin Oriental's high standards, even reaching ceiling-level excellence. They were enthusiastic, resourceful, and thoughtful. 👍 This time, I also received a very special souvenir for the first time. I will definitely be back!

I specifically brought my mom here for her birthday. The ambiance, service, and cleanliness were all excellent, as expected from Wynn. Since it was my mom's birthday, the hotel even gave us a small, delicious cake. There was a minor hiccup during our stay: some other guests were being loud in the hallway at night, disturbing our rest. However, the hotel staff did their best to resolve the issue. A big thank you to the staff and the duty manager!

The location is super convenient for transportation and daily needs. There's a bus stop nearby, making it easy to get to and from the airport and anywhere else. Downstairs, there are plenty of supermarkets and dining options. However, the hotel facilities are quite old. The lobby is bright and spacious, but the rooms are dim and poorly soundproofed. I could clearly hear the girls next door chatting and screaming in the middle of the night. The air conditioning is noisy, and it automatically kicks on every so often, which isn't ideal for light sleepers.

Perfect score for Altira Macau! It was our wedding anniversary, and after we made a note, the hotel thoughtfully decorated our room with balloons. The whole room was warm, romantic, and instantly gave us that celebratory feeling – a delightful surprise and so comforting. The service exceeded our expectations in its attentiveness. They proactively added an extra bed for our child free of charge and thoughtfully delivered a delicate mini-cake and a fresh fruit platter. Every little detail was incredibly heartwarming, and we were truly touched. The room itself was spacious and grand, not at all cramped. The bathroom featured an extra-large round bathtub, big enough for two people to soak in! The floor-to-ceiling windows offered an absolutely stunning view of Macau's cityscape and ocean, making the experience incredibly comfortable. We could even watch the night view from the sofa. The mattress was soft and great for sleeping, and there was plenty of space for our family. Overall, the service was gentle and meticulous, and the facilities were luxurious and comfortable. It's our top choice for an anniversary family trip, and we'll definitely choose to stay here again next time we visit Macau!
