Macau Light Rapid Transit (LRT) Map
Macau does not have a traditional metro system like Guangzhou or Hong Kong. Instead, the city uses the Macau Light Rapid Transit (LRT), which is the main rail transport for visitors and locals. The LRT is clean, easy to use, and especially convenient for travelling between Taipa, Cotai, the airport and border areas. It is a good choice for tourists staying in resort and casino zones.
At present, three LRT lines are in operation. The Taipa Line is the core route and the most useful for visitors, linking Taipa Ferry Terminal, Macau International Airport, Cotai resorts, sports venues and residential areas. The Seac Pai Van Line extends service to the southern part of Coloane, making it easier to reach quieter residential and local neighbourhoods. The newest Hengqin Line, opened in December 2024, connects Taipa directly to Hengqin Port, allowing smooth transfers between Macau and mainland China.
More lines are under development to improve coverage. The East Line, expected to open around 2028, will connect the Macau Peninsula with Taipa, serving busy border areas and city districts. Future West and South Lines are also planned to further link the peninsula, inner harbour areas and tourism zones.

Secondly, I stayed in a North Wing suite on the 30th floor this time. The room was huge, and everything from the bed and sofa to the bathroom was satisfying. The bathroom even had a vanity table, which was a nice touch.
Furthermore, the service was well-organized, fast, and convenient. The day before, I stayed in Hong Kong at what turned out to be a 'fake' five-star hotel. This time, as soon as I arrived at the front desk, even though it was still midday, three staff members immediately assisted me. They confirmed my luggage storage, room preferences, and provided a detailed map with clear explanations. This allowed us to drop off our bags and start exploring right away. Plus, the room number was sent via SMS, room cards were issued in advance, and our luggage was delivered directly to the room. I can only say everything was perfect!
Also, The Venetian's buffet breakfast offered a wide variety of delicious options. They had pan-fried salmon and 'Buddha Jumps Over the Wall,' and I even found my favorite peach gum and white fungus soup.
Everyone, from the security guards at the casino entrance to the staff in the restaurants and lobby, was incredibly nice. If the bottled water in the room ran out, you just scanned a code, and a server would bring it to your door instantly.
Of course, my favorite part was the gondola ride. The artificial blue sky above was so realistic and beautiful! 🤩

The hotel is located in Macau Peninsula's old town and is generally quite small. The room amenities are all there. I didn't dare to use the bathtub, but the bathroom came with a floor mat and a non-slip grab bar, which is something older Macanese hotels do better than both new and old hotels in mainland China. The hotel is relatively close to the Macao Polytechnic University and the Grand Prix Museum, about a ten-minute walk. It's also not far from the Ruins of St. Paul's, a walk of a little over ten minutes. Getting to Wynn Palace or Fisherman's Wharf is further and requires a taxi. This time, any journey over twenty minutes by foot, I took a taxi, but I didn't get to ride the **bus**. The hotel has a Cantonese restaurant, Jin Man Xuan, on the first floor, with prices similar to Cantonese restaurants in Shenzhen.
The Macau Tower and the double-decker sightseeing bus require advance booking, so I'll save those for next time when I bring the kids to Macau!

Traveling with family, we booked two standard rooms. The beds are 1.2 meters wide, which was fine for squeezing in with the kids. The buffet is a great deal: breakfast is 65 MOP per person, and lunch is 98 MOP per person. This was my second stay at Wynn, and the experience was a bit disappointing. I arrived at 1:30 PM to check in, but was told rooms wouldn't be ready until 3:00 PM. When I returned at 3:10 PM, the room still hadn't been cleaned, and I eventually only got into my room closer to 4:00 PM. During check-in, I was asked if I preferred a smoking room, which I confirmed. However, when I received my room key, I was told the reservation notes indicated a non-smoking room, which was quite frustrating. On a different note, the mini-bar drinks in the room are advertised as complimentary. However, there's a small print notice at the bottom stating that if any item is removed for more than 60 seconds, it will be automatically charged to the room.FromINR 47,213

The hotel facilities are a bit old, but overall the hygiene is quite good. Transportation is convenient, and there are many residential areas and plenty of food options nearby. The downside is the poor soundproofing; the hallway gets noisy in the morning, so light sleepers beware. Also, the front desk staff were cold and unfriendly during check-in. However, the bellhop was polite and enthusiastic. Breakfast was a bit limited, but it met basic needs. Overall, it's a mid-range value for money.FromINR 5,724

I have to say, the design of MGM Cotai is truly artistic; walking through the atrium always feels like a treat. Check-in is strictly after 3 PM, but you can get in line about ten minutes early. The young man who checked me in was very friendly and helpful. However, the short-haired young lady at the next counter, who was assisting an elderly couple, seemed less competent. She struggled to explain things clearly and even had to call over a colleague for help. Later, when I checked out, it happened to be her again. My room charges were over by 0.6 MOP, and she insisted I pay the difference. As I was getting my money out, another young man at an adjacent counter, who was helping another guest, immediately said it wasn't necessary to pay. The difference in service experience was quite significant. She really needs to improve her work efficiency. My room was cleaned daily, and there was also a turndown service. However, the air conditioning in my room was incredibly noisy, so I couldn't use it at all during my stay; otherwise, I wouldn't have been able to sleep. Room service was always responsive and very quick. If I have the chance, I might choose MGM Cotai again.FromINR 34,668

This was a spontaneous trip, so I hadn't booked accommodation in advance. To be honest, I was a bit nervous after seeing some negative reviews before booking. However, I was actually quite satisfied once I checked in. It's a short walk from the Venetian after getting off the subway. There's no lobby on the ground floor, and I walked around a couple of times before realizing I needed to call service to find out the lobby was on the top floor. Check-in was smooth, and I paid the deposit with Alipay, no cash needed. The staff spoke good Mandarin too. Although the room's facilities were simple, everything I needed was there, and it was clean. The view from the window in the morning wasn't bad either. Looks like I picked a good one! 😄FromINR 5,606
