The Macau Light Rapid Transit (LRT) is the easiest way to travel between key areas such as Taipa, Cotai, Hengqin and Seac Pai Van. It is clean, modern, and easy to use, making it a good choice for both first-time visitors and regular travellers.

Macau Light Rapid Transit (LRT) Map
Macau does not have a traditional metro system like Guangzhou or Hong Kong. Instead, the city uses the Macau Light Rapid Transit (LRT), which is the main rail transport for visitors and locals. The LRT is clean, easy to use, and especially convenient for travelling between Taipa, Cotai, the airport and border areas. It is a good choice for tourists staying in resort and casino zones.
At present, three LRT lines are in operation. The Taipa Line is the core route and the most useful for visitors, linking Taipa Ferry Terminal, Macau International Airport, Cotai resorts, sports venues and residential areas. The Seac Pai Van Line extends service to the southern part of Coloane, making it easier to reach quieter residential and local neighbourhoods. The newest Hengqin Line, opened in December 2024, connects Taipa directly to Hengqin Port, allowing smooth transfers between Macau and mainland China.
More lines are under development to improve coverage. The East Line, expected to open around 2028, will connect the Macau Peninsula with Taipa, serving busy border areas and city districts. Future West and South Lines are also planned to further link the peninsula, inner harbour areas and tourism zones.

Most Macau LRT services run from 6:30 AM to around 11:15 PM on weekdays, with extended service until 11:59 PM on weekends and public holidays. Trains run frequently, but it is still best to check official notices for real time updates.

Important Notes
- *Fare information is based on official Macau LRT data and may change without notice.
- Each sea crossing section counts as two stations, including Barra to Ocean Station and Hengqin to Lotus Station.
- For trips involving Seac Pai Van Station or Union Hospital Station, Union Hospital Station is counted as one station.
- Children under 1 metre in height travel free, but must be accompanied by an adult.
- Single journey tickets are valid only on the day of purchase.
For longer regional journeys, such as travelling between Macau, Zhuhai or other Greater Bay Area cities, high speed rail and intercity trains are usually much faster than urban rail and are worth considering for time saving travel.

How to Buy Macau LRT Tickets?
Macau Light Rapid Transit (LRT) is easy to use, but payment options are a little different from mainland China.
Tickets can be bought at Ticket Vending Machines or at the Customer Service Centre inside each LRT station. Machines are simple to use, but mostly accept cash and LRT Cards, while service counters offer more flexible payment options for visitors.

1. Plan Your Route 🗺️
Check which line and station you need. Macau LRT currently has Taipa Line, Seac Pai Van Line and Hengqin Line. Route maps are shown at stations and on electronic screens.
2. Buy a Ticket or Prepare Payment 🎫💳
You have a few easy options:

3. Enter the Station 🚪
Go through the entry gate:

The gate will open once payment is accepted.
4. Wait for the Train 🚉
Follow station signs to the correct platform.
- Taipa Line: about every 5–10 minutes

Stand behind the safety line and let passengers get off first.
5. Ride the LRT 🚈
Board in an orderly way. Trains are clean and quiet, with seats and handrails.
Wheelchair spaces are available near the doors. For views, try the front or rear cars.

I booked an Executive King Room, and the hotel upgraded me to a suite, which I was thrilled about. The hotel is located halfway up Guia Hill, right next to the Grand Lapa Hotel. It's about a 10-minute walk to the Guia Fortress and Lighthouse, so the location is excellent. Major attractions like the Ruins of St. Paul's and St. Dominic's Church are also just a 10-15 minute walk away. Just a short stroll downhill takes you to Guia Hill Lane, a popular spot for photos. There are also a few local eateries nearby with delicious food. The front desk staff was very friendly and check-in was quick. I had cash for the deposit, but they said Alipay was fine, and for check-out, I just needed to hand in my key card at the front desk. The deposit was refunded that same afternoon. The cakes in the hotel lobby were also delicious. The hygiene was very good; aside from the air conditioning being a bit noisy, everything else was great. Thumbs up! The Venetian Macao, The Parisian Macao, and The Londoner Macao are all interconnected, allowing for indoor access between them. It's also not far from City of Dreams, Wynn, and MGM, about a 10-minute walk. During check-in, the front desk staff was very welcoming, offering some complimentary snacks and patiently explaining directions. I had heard some rumors before, so when I was initially assigned a room on the 18th floor, I was a bit scared after entering. After contacting the front desk, they promptly arranged a room on a different floor, which was also non-smoking. The front desk mentioned that it would take some time to prepare the room and suggested I could go out and explore, and they would contact me when it was ready. Check-in time at Macau hotels is 3 PM. We arrived early, and the front desk staff informed us that the earliest we could check in would be after 2 PM, suggesting we could dine at the small shop across from the hotel.
We opted for a high-floor room, and the view was great. Across the sea, we could see Zhuhai's office buildings. Looking down, there was a fountain and a swimming pool. Both the daytime and nighttime views were lovely. The room also had good soundproofing.
The restaurant had a pleasant dining environment, not too many people, quiet and comfortable. The breakfast buffet and the semi-buffet for lunch were both quite good.

I've stayed at the Grand Lisboa Palace Hotel for vacations many times, and as always, the hotel environment is comfortable and tidy. Perhaps it's not peak tourist season, as there was no feeling of overcrowding at all. The front desk lady, Rachael Wang Jingyang, who handled our check-in, was very gentle and friendly. She politely arranged our room and explained the room's view direction in detail. Her service attitude was excellent.
The leisure and entertainment area on the 3rd floor of the hotel has a gym, a swimming pool, and even a warm whirlpool bath in the changing rooms, which was truly enjoyable. Ms. Lei Yanqing, a staff member in the changing room, thoughtfully provided various leisure tips, and her service was spot-on and attentive.
The buffet breakfast had a rich variety, including both Chinese and Western options, various drinks, and even traditional Chinese slow-boiled soup.

The twin room at Galaxy Hotel, though not very spacious, was comfortable. They set up a tent for the kids, allowing both adults and children to rest independently. The room also offered a nice view, and my child, who loves cars, enjoyed watching numerous vehicles from the window every morning.
The in-room coffee machine was an Illy, and the coffee smelled wonderful and fragrant. For children, they provided a set of amenities including toothbrushes, slippers, picture books, and bath towels.
Breakfast at the hotel was semi-buffet. While the self-service section didn't offer a vast variety, the items were quite exquisite. Having been accustomed to the extensive full buffets at other hotels, I was a little disappointed. However, the dining environment was pleasant. Breakfast hours were from 7 AM to 11 AM, and lunch was from 11:30 AM to 2 PM, so you could choose a time slot.
The children's play facilities were exceptionally rich, with outdoor water play, sand play, and an indoor Kids' Club. Keeping the children entertained at the hotel for a whole day was not an issue.
Overall, the experience at Galaxy Hotel was quite good, as it's a reputable long-standing hotel. During check-out, the front desk staff, Martin, even gave us a small gift, which was very thoughtful. They found out it was my husband's birthday and specially decorated the room, even upgrading our room type – that was incredibly thoughtful! Everything else was great, and with a bus stop right downstairs, getting around was super convenient. If I had one minor complaint, it would be about the Fuguilou (Rich Tower) building – perhaps because it's newer, the bath towels shed a lot of lint. After drying off, my body and face were covered in fuzz, which was quite annoying. The smaller hand towels didn't have this problem. Also, the soundproofing in the room wasn't the best. Let's start with the service. The front desk staff were excellent, with warm smiles. Then there was the Southeast Asian gentleman in the white uniform at the dinner restaurant – his service was outstanding, so friendly and attentive! He really boosted the hotel's reputation!
Next, the location. It's unbeatable! Downstairs, you can get everywhere; there are buses to all destinations, incredibly convenient. Especially the view from the fireworks room – it's the best ever! It's only a 7-minute walk to the fireworks viewing spot. You can watch the first show, then walk back to your hotel room to catch the second one. So comfortable!
Finally, the most disappointing aspect... the hotel room. I had read reviews mentioning a musty smell, so I brought an air purifying spray. But as soon as I walked in, I was still despairing... there was a strong body odor smell. Even after spraying for a while, it returned and lingered. I didn't sleep well all night.

This time, I stayed with my mom. As I had a gathering with friends, after checking in and dropping off our luggage, we went out and didn't return until past 11 PM. The next morning, we left early, so our stay was short, just for one night.
The value for money is great. Although there's no direct hotel shuttle from Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao, taking bus 102 is quite convenient.
The staff at the reception were very polite, and the room was comfortable with sufficient air conditioning.
Both my mom and I were very satisfied. The only two things that could be improved are: we wished there were more hangers in the bathroom for clothes, and also an extra roll of toilet paper, as there was only about half a roll left, which wasn't quite enough for two ladies.FromSEK 463

Really great place! Downstairs, getting around by car is super convenient, and it's also very close to bus stops and the light rail. The restaurants downstairs offer great value for money, and the room itself is quite spacious and quiet. Everything about this stay was satisfactory. The room was clean and bright, conveniently located, and well-equipped. Check-in was smooth, and Yang Xiaojun, a lovely lady, showed us to room 1333, which was spacious and bright, and we were very happy with it.
