I was a bit disappointed. I was expecting this to be a 5 star place, but there were a lot of things that were definitely not 5 stars. The robes were grey and didn't cover bigger people. One of them had pilling all over it, I didn't want to even wear it. The bathroom door squeaked loudly, so if one person got up to the toilet in the middle of the night, it woke the other person up. There were instructions on how to use the spa bath, but not on how to put the plug in. It didn't just plug in normally. We weren't able to use it on our first night which was very frustrating as it was one of our main attractions. I rang housekeeping the next day. Someone came and had a look and said that you had to turn a know on the side of the spa, how would anyone know that? The lock on the door to outside was broken and a small slide lock had been put on. Why not fix the main lock? I used the toilets to the side of the library and when I washed my hands, the tap was all loose and wobbled round. All these things are little but show that the lodge needs to have things fixed or updated. For $300 per night, you expect the best. The worse thing was on our last morning, we got to breakfast about 8:45, the restaurant closes at 9:30 am. There was continental and scrambled eggs and bacon. At about 9:00 am they stopped bringing out anymore bread to toast. No more croissants, eggs or bacon were brought out. There were about 6 tables with guests and everyone kept going up and checking, but they didn't refill. People were saying, they must have run out of food! But for some reason the waiter kept lifting the lids to the egg and bacon to see what was in there, but of course there was nothing as he hadn't refilled it and he was the only waiter!! I was really disappointed and wouldn't recommend it, unless you are getting a really good discount.

Upgraded to a top-floor room as a platinum member. The room wasn't huge, but the view was great. Check-in at the front desk was very friendly; there weren't any Chinese-speaking staff, but communication was smooth. Crowne Plaza Christchurch boasts an excellent downtown location, within walking distance of Victoria Square, the Avon River, and the Cathedral. The rooms are modern, spacious, and very clean, with some offering city and river views. Breakfast is generous, and the service is professional and attentive. The hotel also has a well-equipped fitness center and other facilities. Overall, it was a comfortable and efficient experience, perfect for both business and leisure travelers, making it a top choice for accommodation in Christchurch.

The reviews were mixed, and I was a bit hesitant when booking, but unexpectedly, everything was excellent. It was clean and comfortable, the service was great, and it was perfect for our family of four. The location is also quite convenient, and there's free parking right outside (free from 6 PM to 9 AM). Overall, it's great value for money.

This hotel is about an 8-minute walk from the Intercity bus terminal. Its convenient location puts major tourist attractions, supermarkets, and restaurants all within walking distance. What I appreciated most was how kid-friendly it is. It started with them gifting my children bird plushies (worth about $15) at the souvenir shop, and there's also a kids' play area. This was a lifesaver when the kids got tired of sightseeing and perfect for burning off energy before bedtime. Regarding amenities, they lean heavily towards sustainability, so if you want to be extra comfortable, it's probably best to bring your own. They provide a hairdryer, iron, towels, shampoo, and coffee/tea, but no water, toothbrushes, bathrobes, or slippers (which might be standard for hotels in New Zealand). Tissues are provided but not replenished when used up. The central heating didn't seem to work very well, which was a shame, but we managed with the extra blankets they provided.

Our flight arrived late, so we didn't check in until 3 AM. What was great was that there were still two front desk staff members working at that hour, which really sped things up, especially since a lot of passengers from our flight were staying there. Seeing my sleepy son, they even gave him a penguin plush toy, which he absolutely loved and hugged all night. They also told us we could check out at 12 PM instead of the usual 11 AM, which I found very thoughtful. The hotel is at most 200 meters from the international arrivals gate, with a covered walkway, making it incredibly convenient to just walk over and sleep right after getting off the plane. Plus, there's a supermarket and The Coffee Club about 300 meters away, perfect for stocking up on supplies after picking up your rental car. Additionally, the hotel price was very affordable.

This is a truly characterful hotel with spotless and tidy rooms, a wonderfully rich breakfast, and exceptionally polite and attentive staff. I am immensely grateful for their support.

A beautiful villa resort, very spacious and comfortable with stunning views from the balcony. There are also lovely hiking trails nearby. The only odd thing was that the duvet didn't have a cover. Lunch and dinner were excellent – not expensive but very high-quality. The service was great, and the room even had a washer and dryer.

Stayed here for 11 nights and had a wonderful experience. The hotel was clean, comfortable, and well-maintained throughout my stay. The location was very convenient, with easy access to shops, restaurants, and local attractions. The room was cozy and provided everything I needed for a longer stay. The staff were friendly and helpful whenever assistance was needed. After staying here for nearly two weeks, it really started to feel like a home away from home. I checked out today and was actually a little sad to leave. Thank you for making my stay in Christchurch so enjoyable. I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting the city.

Sudima Hotel Christchurch was an absolutely excellent choice during my trip to New Zealand's South Island. Furthermore, the quality of both breakfast and other meals offered at the hotel's restaurant was superb, ensuring satisfying dining experiences. In terms of location, it boasts excellent accessibility to Christchurch city center and major tourist spots, as well as convenient transportation to and from the airport, making itinerary management very easy. With impeccable cleanliness, friendly service, and a superb location, there was nothing lacking at this accommodation. I would not hesitate to choose it again for my next visit to Christchurch.
