The editor's online conversation was very enthusiastic and sincere, but the male employee who received us on site had a blank expression 🫥 and no emotional introduction. I thought I was still in Taipei, but we asked enthusiastically and excitedly. Other than that, the overall environment was generally good. If you are afraid of noise, please be careful. The train is right next to you and will still come in and stop very late, and the sound will be amplified.

The room design is great, the breakfast is delicious, the landlady's service staff are friendly and provide all kinds of inquiries. The room is clean, tidy and comfortable. The hotel is also in a great location, very close to the beach.

After coming back from Taiwan, I suddenly realized I hadn’t posted any photos or written a review about the adorable wooden cabin our family stayed in at Jiufen. Everyone in my family loved this place so much that I had to jot everything down now that I finally have some free time. Most people I know usually stay in Taipei longer and just make a day trip to Jiufen without spending the night. As for me—I’ve lived in Hong Kong for quite a while, so compared to Hong Kong, Taipei didn’t leave much of an impression on me in terms of sights or food. The only thing that truly made me want to visit Taiwan was Jiufen — a sparkling little gem between the mountains and the sea 🏮🌿🌊 Jiufen feels like a dreamy fairytale village with its winding narrow alleys, steep stone stairways, and the warm glow of red lanterns everywhere. Walking around felt like stepping into another world, almost like a scene from a manga — especially for anyone who’s watched Spirited Away. ⸻ ⭐🛖 Review of the wooden cabin called Twilight Forest in Jiufen Just a 5-minute walk from the Old town, this wooden cabin brings together the warm glow of wood and the peaceful feeling of retreating into nature. It has a unique A-frame design, and at night, when the lights turn on, the whole place becomes incredibly cozy — the golden light shining through the windows and the plants around it create a “hideaway from the world” kind of vibe. Inside, the space is open, airy, and tastefully decorated in a rustic style. There’s a small terrace with a swing chair hanging straight from the ceiling — sitting there at night, listening to insects and the wind rustling through the leaves, feels genuinely healing 🙃. 🛁🌿 Highlight: The glass-walled bathroom in the garden This is the standout feature of the cabin. The bathtub is large and comfortable, placed right next to a 180° glass wall looking directly into a lush green garden. Natural daylight pours in, making your daytime bath feel like an outdoor spa surrounded by plants. (There’s also a roller blind if you need privacy) Jiufen is a tiny village perched on a mountain, and it doesn’t have many hotels that offer spacious, comfortable accommodations. That’s why I was so happy to find this wooden cabin. Our family had the most wonderful two-night stay here. If I ever return to Taipei, I would definitely book this place again ❤️

We had 3 nights at Harmony in a room with no window, but it did not feel claustrophobic at all. We did have trouble finding it due google maps playing up and we ended up at the sister hotel further up the hill. Thankfully, one of the owners ran up the hill and met us to take us to the correct one Entry to the hotel is a pain when it pouring down with rain while trying to input your details for the QR code. But this was clearly detail in the listing descritption and previous reviews had mentioned this. A huge help would be to to put a larger sign identifying the hotels location. See photo with circle around the name…. Very easy to miss. During the stay, it was very quiet and extremely clean in possible the best location to old street. Literally 30 seconds away. Walk a little bit further and theres a 7-11 and family mart across the street. The wifi is w10/10 so very good for digital nomads. I highly recommend harmony and would definitely stay again.

This guesthouse offers self-check-in, and the owner sent incredibly thorough instructions. The staff at the cafe on the first floor were also very friendly. The mattress was super comfortable, and the room itself was spacious with excellent layout and decor. Overall, a fantastic stay.

Instead, to gain entry, all guests need to do is call the contact number provided, which adds a touch of mystery to the experience. The lady working there was exceptionally helpful and patient, even taking the time to explain how to use the facilities in Chinese. Her assistance made my stay all the more enjoyable. As a solo traveler, I couldn't help but appreciate the eerie vibes that the place exudes, especially since I'm a fan of horror. Every night, I found myself immersed in an atmosphere that perfectly catered to my taste. It's not often that you come across a hostel that provides such a unique and thrilling ambiance. Cleanliness is always a priority for me, and I was pleased to find that Peace Prison Cafe Inn Hostel did not disappoint in this aspect. The rooms were well-maintained, ensuring a comfortable and pleasant stay. The convenient location of the hostel was also a major plus, making it easy for me to explore and enjoy everything that Hualien has to offer. The landlord waited for us at the pier early, and the room was better than expected. It was very clean and there was no smell! Facilities: Coffee machines, bread machines and other basic facilities are available, and the landlord is also very considerate to prepare bread and beverages (you can choose 👀 for many flavors) Environment: There are more mosquitoes on rainy days. If the screen window door is closed, it is really leisurely to watch the rainy courtyard drink tea! Hygiene: Guyan is well maintained, regularly maintain insecticides or something We are still shopping in Jinning on the return trip, and the landlord is also very considerate to help us take our luggage from the hotel and pick us up to the pier 🥲 Next time I come to Golden Gate to play, I will still choose their home 😆.

We had a wonderful stay at Wunuan Homestay in Jiaoxi. The location is very convenient, especially if you're driving. It is just a few minutes from the highway exit—simply turn right after exiting, and you'll reach the homestay within minutes. The surroundings are peaceful, scenic, and a refreshing escape from the city. One of the highlights was the river right in front of the property. True to the previous reviews, you can fish there, and it was a memorable experience for our family. We enjoyed spending time outdoors and soaking in the tranquil atmosphere. Driving made it easy to explore the surrounding area. There are many beaches, farms, and family-friendly attractions nearby, although having a car is definitely recommended. The roads were quiet with very little traffic, and we loved the wide open fields, greenery, and the absence of high-rise buildings. It was the perfect place to slow down, relax, and enjoy nature. The owner was exceptionally friendly and helpful. He recommended excellent local food, suggested places to visit, and even assisted us with making reservations, which made our trip much smoother. The homestay itself was spacious, clean, and well-equipped for families. Our room comfortably accommodated our family of three, including our teenage son, and we had plenty of space to relax after a day of sightseeing. One small point to note is that the bathroom floor can become quite slippery when wet, so extra care is needed, especially for children and older guests. Overall, we had a fantastic stay and would happily recommend Wunuan Homestay to anyone looking for a peaceful countryside retreat while exploring Jiaoxi and Yilan. In
