The hotel's location is excellent, right in the city's most popular area, facing beautiful scenery. Turn right when you leave, and there are plenty of dining options and tour services everywhere. The room amenities are clean, and the building itself is a bit old, but facilities like hot water, a fan, and air conditioning are all available. The terrace offers great views. Aside from the owner couple, the other staff members basically don't speak English, which is something that needs improvement. I checked in around 8 PM, and since the owner couple wasn't there, I couldn't check in immediately. I waited for over half an hour until they arrived. There should at least be someone at the hotel who can communicate in English; otherwise, it's impossible to resolve any issues.

Amazing stay! The room was spotless, comfortable, and well-maintained. The staff were incredibly friendly and always willing to help. The location was convenient, and the overall atmosphere made me feel right at home. I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area.

Nice little guesthouse by the river.It is a short walk to move restaurants and the main area of vang vieng. It is clean, quiet and has a pool which is very basic. Better to swim in the river by the tubing bar.

This hostel must be really famous in Vang Vieng. On my first day, it was full of Westerners. I even met two people from my hometown in Hubei! It's just a short walk past the roundabout to Vang Vieng's main street. The town itself isn't very big, so I mostly spent my days here relaxing and rejuvenating. You can swim and sunbathe with Europeans, play pool and chat, or go out exploring during the day. Plus, they offer breakfast, making it excellent value for money!

Mad Monkey Vang Vieng has a fun and social atmosphere, and the staff are generally friendly and energetic. It’s a great place if you’re looking to meet new people and enjoy the party vibe. However, some areas could use improvement. The rooms and facilities can feel a bit worn, and cleanliness is inconsistent at times. Depending on when you stay, noise levels can be quite high especially from other visitors, even late at night, something to keep in mind if you’re hoping for rest. Overall, it’s a lively hostel with a strong social scene, but not the best choice if comfort and quiet are your main priorities.

This hostel is very well located. The amenities are standard for Laos but functional (water pressure is great which is not always the case). The real plus of this hostel is the readiness of the staff, they will help you arrange your stay (and even your stay in other cities) with readiness and a smile. Definitely recommend if you want to rest next to the pool after a long day of hiking and have good company.

It was very good. Because I had an early flight, they took me to Vientiane Airport at 4:30 in the morning (100 dollars). Also, I ate breakfast in the lobby, but it was easy to make friends because I ate with other backpackers. I climbed the mountain to the view point and got my shoes muddy, but I was able to wash them off at the tap outside the hotel (I recommend bringing your own brushes). Even on rainy days, many people enjoy playing billiards in the hostel. You can also refill your water from the water server. And the dog that lives in the hostel is very cute. If I come to Vang Vieng again, I will stay at this hostel.

The hostel is mediocre; it's dirty, cold, and there's no hot water in the shower. Luckily, I had my own bed sheet because the one provided by the hostel was covered in stains. I wonder if they even clean it. Avoid at all costs.

I randomly booked this place online, and the price was an absolute steal. I got a bed in a 35-person female dorm, including breakfast. Honestly, the breakfast alone was worth 20; it was delicious, even the plain eggs were made so well, plus there was fruit and coffee. The dog was super cute too. I was a bit worried because I read online that the front desk only spoke English, and I thought I might have trouble communicating, but there was a handsome guy at the front desk who spoke excellent English. You take off your shoes when you enter, and almost everyone there was foreign – I was the only Chinese person. They also have a pool table, a bar with free drinks at night, and a pool. The atmosphere was great, and it felt very safe.
