The hotel is right at the entrance of the ski resort and you can Ski in/Out. Guests of the hotel in Figure 3 can get a discount on the ski pass price. Our price for three days was 25,400 yen. There are very few people in the ski resort unless there is heavy snowfall. Very few people. There are several restaurants in the hotel, and you need to make a reservation for dinner in the evening. The taste is good. There are ski lockers on the first floor for free. Friendly advice, try to bring your own shoes and boards. The shoes rented by the ski resort are very loose and the boards are heavy and hard.
The hotel has a hot spring, a snow park, and a shuttle bus to and from Kamikoku ski resort. It's so comfortable to soak in a hot spring after skiing.
There is a shuttle bus for transportation. It's a 45-minute drive from Yuzawa Station. It's a little far, but it's one of the best choices for skiing near Tokyo.
The staff's English is really not good, and the communication is... quite different from Tokyo. Not everyone is friendly, but I like it. Because it's not a tourist attraction, I guess there are not many foreigners who come here to stay.
Hotel was generally clean except for the front area where shoes need to be removed.. the floor mat was wet but it wasnt changed, so its kindaof gross.
Amenities are not great either. No lotion, no facial products, only basic toiletries and toothbrush provided. No kids yukata provided too for my child.
Food was very average - both breakfast and dinner. No variety, everyday its a type of shabu - 1 day pork & beef, 1 day beef, 1 day fish. My kid got very bored of the food.
Bed was comfy. Pillows were crap and only 1 pillow each.. View was quite nice, could see e neighbouring mountains.
Location is very good, 5 to 10mins walk from e echigo yuzawa train station. There are quite alot of food at the train station.
While this is supposedly a ryokan, its just another dormy inn. Dont expect too much - considered decent.
I found the dinner and breakfast expensive. As the price is expensive than other hotels we expected more variety but it was lesser than where we usually go. So were quite disappointed as I dont eat sea food and paying 3000 for break fast and 5000 for dinner when you dont eat fish is quite expensive and alcohol was quite expensive too.
There was lots of activity to do so we enjoyed that as we reached the hotel before check in time
Hotel with hot spring and others facilities like swimming pool and gym room. Room are big enough for 3-4 persons. Location a bit far from town if with car no issue at all. Hotel do provide bus but time limited till 6pm. All staffs could not speak English so communication was an issue if you request something.
Not the most modern. But very cosy and warm, impeccable service and hospitality. Child play facilities inside the hotel (up to 6 or 7 years old). That's a bar for the adults too, open tab until the night. Private onsen is available for 1000jpy for 45 minutes, and is adjacent but separate to the public onsen that is available to hotel guests. Parking is just outside the hotel. Restaurants and snow gear rental is available down the road.
The hotel is located a few hundred meters up the slope to the right after exiting Echigo-Yuzawa Station's west gate. I was immediately struck by the university upon leaving the station. Although the road was a bit slippery, I arrived at the hotel and checked in without a hitch. The breakfast was plentiful, and there are two free public hot springs and a private one (reservations required). Soaking in the hot springs after skiing was absolutely wonderful.
The Japanese-style tatami room was very warm. We had to lay out our own futons, which were put away after each cleaning, so we had to make our beds again every night. Laundry facilities were available. Both breakfast and dinner at the hotel were very rich and satisfying for both adults and children. There's a hot spring downstairs, which was very convenient, and a game room. Everything was great. The only downside was one front desk staff member who wasn't very friendly and kept saying ”English no”.
Room was spacious. But overall hotel is old and certain parts of it felt like stepping into North korea. But it was quaint and suited the old town vibes. Hotel provided free shuttle from echigo yuzawa station. Room only had Japanese tea cups and no spoons. Parts of the room had cobwebs and similarly at the onsen. They charged a 150 yen per person per day for onsen regardless if utilised or not. And this charge was not told to us through trip.com or during check in. Staff did not understand English at all. We had to use translator to communicate. The free dinner provided was nice for the first night then it became meh. And they strictly prohibited guests to bring own drinks to dinner as they had a drink menu. 350 yen + tax for a glass of coke. Staff were polite and nice.
I stayed here with my family for a ski trip. We had a great time in one room with six people from three generations of parents and children, and we were very satisfied.
We took baths both at night and in the morning, and because the steam from the baths didn't obscure the view, foreigners who are uncomfortable being naked probably wouldn't feel embarrassed.
The food was well-balanced and delicious. There wasn't a large selection, but everything was delicious.
I'd like to stay here again.

GGuest UserThe lady at the counter was so accommodating. Provided everything we needed and was happy to help in any other way. Spoke a little English but used google translate to help. We couldn't use the dining room for dinner, I think that had to be booked in advance. There was only one or two other places open in town at 7.30pm for dinner. So wasn't many options. The room had stains all over the floor, but otherwise the beds were clean, and comfortable being on the harder springy side, and the bathroom was very clean. The onsen was amazing. The room was a good size, and had extra toilets down the hall if we needed them. The Japanese breakfast that was provided was fantastic. We only stayed one night because we were walking the next day just near there otherwise would have stayed in a bigger town, because of the limited outside facilities. But for the price and it was convenient it was good. Would stay again if I had to, but otherwise would go for a bit nicer place.
NNuonuokafeiVery good design hotel, transportation needs to be booked one day in advance through the platform. There is only one trip at 15:15 to Echigo Yuzawa Hatago Isen Hotel. Isen is opposite Echigo Yuzawa Station and is also the hotel of Long Yan's family. After explaining to the staff, you can rest and wait in the hotel. This pick-up station is not fixed and can only be made by appointment. The ride takes about half an hour. After arriving at the hotel, there is an efficient and warm reception. I booked a basic room type with one night and two meals. The room is very large and spacious. The hotel is a tangible cultural material of the Hakkaisan Wine Industry. The ancient farmhouse mansion was rebuilt. The design was awarded, and it protects history and pays attention to the protection of the surrounding environment. I like it very much. It is simple and fashionable. Tea and snacks are provided in the lobby. Plum wine and sake are provided at 5 pm. Now we don't have bento in the room, we eat in the restaurant. Dinner is Japanese style. I think it is very attentive and exquisite for the per capita charge. The environment is beautiful, the service is standardized and enthusiastic, the wine and beverages are cheap, and I had a very happy and satisfying meal. I think it is better than the Japanese restaurant in Tobira Onsen Myojinkan, which costs more than 4,000 yuan per person. Breakfast is a buffet, with one of three main dishes to choose from, and the rest are buffets. The quality is excellent and the taste is very good. There is a shamisen performance from 8:30 to 9:15 in the evening. The couple sings and plays the guitar and is professional. The hot spring has a large public bath and a private bath. The private bath is open when the lights are on, but it is often full. Check out at 11 o'clock and the shuttle bus will take you to Echigo Yuzawa Station. It is very comfortable and convenient with the shuttle bus. The designer may be a commercial designer. There are some shortcomings in the accommodation. There is a lot of light leakage. When the lights in the room are turned off at night, the lights in the corridor and public areas will shine through. You don't need to turn on the lights to go to the bathroom late at night. The windows and doors are not soundproof. When it rains, the eaves drip a lot. Fortunately, I prepared eye masks and earplugs. When it rains, the air conditioning heating room is set to 30 degrees and it can't be warm. It can only keep it warm. It is normal for Japanese hotels to have curtains without light blocking. Overall, a very good hotel.
GGuest UserThe best stay ever with exceptional service and super gorgeous room + private onsen. We enjoyed a complimentary welcome drink and dessert before they showed us to our room. The loft style japanese room was stunning, decorated with tasteful details. The best part was of course the onsen, we could watch snow as we enjoyed the soak. There was also a massage chair in the room haha.
The breakfast that we added on was really delicious too. The hotel provides pick up service to and fro train stations nearby, make sure to check with them prior to your arrival.
Something that warms our hearts is their quality service, e.g. they would warm our shoes before we head out as it was snowing outside etc.
Location wise, it's very near to Gala Yuzawa station. However, I think most restaurants are closer to Echigo Yuzawa station. So we would take a short walk there every night for dinner instead.
PPo ChiehA great travel experience!
It is recommended to reserve the shuttle service with the hotel in advance.
