Royal Plaza Hotel

Mong Kok
Great location as Royal Plaza hotel is accessible from shopping center to Mongkok East MRT station. Great hotel service too as hotel arranged for immediate room change when the bathroom floor was wet with dirty water and dirt due to choked drainage. Downside of the hotel is the check-out time at 11am is a bit early.

The hotel is quiet with modest sized rooms. I wouldn’t say the rooms are large by any means but the space has everything you need including a good sized closet, kettle, and refrigerator. I had breakfast included which was great to have a consistent start to my day. There is a shuttle service available which is convenient to get to the station. If you don’t mind being a little outside of the center of HK then this hotel is a good find for the price!

Not a bad place, located around hills and near a small beach. There is a big wardrobe and the bathroom was big. There is a sink in the kitchen and a small refrigerator. The room is big and spacious. The bed wasn’t too big but was comfortable. We were given a music themed room without cleaning provided. There was a tent ( I suppose for a kid) Breakfast is okay not a buffet, but you can choose one of three options. The location is a bit far BUT they provide a shuttle bus to a subway station from early morning till almost midnight. No shops around but there are vending machines in the hotel. There’s a small gym and a swimming pool but it was closed.
Disney Explorers Lodge

Disneyland Area
My first ever Disneyland experience - both the hotel stay and park. Boy oh boy oh boy, I loved how everything was very thoughtfully thought out. From check in to check out, everything was seamlessly done. All the staff from the check in counters, including the cleaning staff and all the support staff were very friendly and cheerful. Loved the furnishings around the entire hotel. Really highlighted the explorer's theme they were going for. Got the standard room and it was spacious, beds were comfy with a large wash/make up area although the bathroom/toilet was a bit tiny. No disposable amenities provided, as per HK's rule but shower gel, shampoo, conditioner and lotions were provided. There was a filter machine provided as well as a nespresso machine and all were refilled daily. All in all, a wonderful first Disney experience and will definitely be back.

Tsim Sha Tsui and Kowloon West
We booked the room for our pre-wedding night and received a partial sea view upgrade. Staff were friendly and accommodating. Room was very spacious, bright and what we were looking for. It is a budget friendly hotel, so we didn't expect much - no water or complimentary tea bags in room, sofa a little worn out with stains and an old style hair dryer. Location is good as it is in the center of TST, walking distance to tourist spots and MTR stations.

The front desk service was standard. Housekeeping staff were very enthusiastic. The hotel facilities are not new, but they are well-maintained. When the air conditioner, dryer, and air purifier are all on in the room, the noise level is quite high, which can be disruptive at night. You may choose to turn them off yourself. The hotel's buffet breakfast mainly features Hong Kong local style and Indian style dishes, with relatively few vegetables.

It’s close to that airport and disneyland, but far away from the city center, you can’t order food to arrive there, the service was great, but they could also offer water to guests or in the rooms rather than sell it for 8 dollars a bottle, i saw a man who was parched clearly from traveling and he had to go through the whole payment process until he could get a sip of water. Overall it’s good, very helpful service and you get free access to the park
Kerry Hotel, Hong Kong

Hung Hom and Kowloon City
I traveled to this hotel few times before but I will base my comparison/review on last time in Sept 2023. Overall the hotel is really nice and amenities are good but the level of service has dropped significantly since my last stay. The check in/check out times can be up to 90 minutes, the staff is very slow and there and not a lot of stations to check in during “rush” hours (12/15). The staff clicks endlessly on their keyboard and nothing comes out of it. Since it was Chinese valentines I wanted to surprise my gf with some flowers - the reception staff said it’s impossible because you need to book flowers two days in advance and the florist is closed. In a hotel with this many stars I expect better solutions. They offered some sweets later but in the end I had to search for the florist myself and buy the flowers. I booked massage on the day of departure for two persons 90 mins (around 3500 hkd) and the only time available was 11.30. So I asked at the reception of the possibility of late checkout - the lady said and I’m quoting “you can checkout in the morning”. I was astonished. I asked to confirm the possibility with manager. The hotel called the spa to confirm if I’m not lying and reluctantly agreed to late checkout. Last time when I was in that hotel this wouldn’t have happened. The staff reception is rude and robotic. Maybe expect Sera which was great. The staff at the gym greeted me with “hey man” - I expect at such hotel to be welcomed “good morning sir” or such I’m not your friend but a customer. During the massage the masseuse was laughing when I started snoring a bit - awfully unprofessional. Room service is quick and the food portions are large but the it tastes bland. Room are quite clean but the smudges on the windows weren’t cleaned for the whole duration of our stay. Overall I have to rethink if I ever want to come back again.
The Fullerton Ocean Park Hotel Hong Kong

Southern
Booked the Oceanfront Room and paid for an additional upgrade to the Balcony Oceanfront Room which I heard there is only 1 in each floor and at the corner of the building. This room is quite popular with the KOL’s and I can see why. Room is extremely spacious and the bathtub offers a view of the yacht harbour while soaking. This hotel is strong on sustainablity so each room is provided with a glass bottle to refill water at the corridor anytime. There is also a free shuttle bus to Ocean Park MTR every 30 mins on the east tower Service is as expected for a 5 star hotel but at times unattentive at the lobby lounge while having a drink during peak periods
