CCocoHouI booked this hotel because I was attending a concert at the Coliseum. The pros are its proximity to the venue – I could see it right from my room window – and the MTR station is right next door. You can reach it directly from Hung Hom Station C2 exit by taking the footbridge. There are also some dining options in the mall downstairs, which is convenient, though they'd definitely be closed after a concert. My suite had a kitchen, and if I had more time, I could have cooked, as the kitchenware was quite complete.
However, there were several downsides. The toilet paper was very thin and flimsy, so I had to use a lot each time. The lighting in the room was sparse, making it quite dim, and the same applied to the living room. I stayed on the top floor, and the hot water was slow to come, with insufficient water pressure from the showerhead. The elevator was a bit odd; a full elevator could close on the ground floor, but if someone got off mid-way, it would indicate an overload. The days I stayed happened to be rainy, and the room had a sewage smell. Even with the kitchen hood on and spraying perfume, it didn't help, so I just had to get used to it. The breakfast variety wasn't extensive, but it was passable. The executive lounge was very strange – it's on the 20th floor, and I was on the 21st. My room key only allowed elevator access to the 21st floor, so I had to walk down a flight of stairs. While it was only one floor, I found this arrangement a bit unreasonable. If I wanted to go directly to the executive lounge from the lobby, I’d still have to go to the 21st floor first and then take the stairs. The afternoon tea only offered biscuits, chocolates, and fruit. I'd suggest considering some savory options, as the current selection isn't very friendly for those managing their sugar intake. On the plus side, the service was excellent, and the environment was good, with a large outdoor terrace that I unfortunately couldn't enjoy due to the rain.
In summary: This hotel is a bit old, and the facilities are dated. I'd recommend it for anyone attending a show at the Hong Kong Coliseum.
