The hotel has a very convenient location — right by the main pedestrian street, with plenty of restaurants, shops, and easy access to the metro. There’s a small gym, and the front desk staff were friendly and helpful, they even let me check in an hour early after a long flight. Breakfast was decent by Chinese standards. The only downside was that my room had no view of the city, but on the plus side, it was perfectly quiet and I couldn’t hear any noise from the busy street, which made it easy to sleep. Overall, a good stay for the price.

The hotel is tucked deep in a small drive-in so it's quiet but the location is walking distance to The Bund and shopping stretch along Nanjing Road. Many coffee joints down the road where people were enjoying caffeine and the sights and taking selfies and photos of the iconic Oriental Pearl Tower. Service was great. There were many many guests coming in and out and the staff seemed overwhelmed but managed well. We got a free upgrade to a family room as the one we booked wasn't ready after waiting for an hour. Very nice offer since we were actually quite early for check-in. All in room items were complimentary and this is the 2nd of 3 ATOUR hotels I picked for this entire trip. Will recommend to friends and family for sure. Hope the next one is as comfortable.

The hotel is good location and staff have a good service mind. There are many restaurants around the hotel and lawson. Near nanjing road. The bedroom is clean and has no musty smell. The maid changes towels every day. My friend and I booked a room with 2 queen beds, but were upgraded to a large room with twin beds and 1 queen bed. It is a connecting room, which is very good. The air conditioning is cool and comfortable for 4 people, so it is not cramped.

The place and location is good. We were unlucky to meet early summer in March and the hotel does not provide air conditioning. The staff told us to open the window and yes, the next room also open the window and smoke cigarette that caused the smell came into our room. With the sign “non-smoking”and condition set on reservation, doesn’t seem to strict with this rule. We call the receptionist after midnight asking to change room. It was so hot that we cannot sleep the staff promised to give us a fan next day -they left us nothing next day that we had to ask them to find one again!!! I would have changed hotel if knowing that they didn’t take this situation seriously. With the price we paid this is not appropriate. Staff is actually good with helping along with other issues but with what I experience here -there will not be my next time here. Photo is the fan they finally found without base.

It was overall a great stay. The lobby is cozy, fragrant and dimly lit with soft yellow lighting. The room is not very big but there was enough space to move around comfortably. Love the shower with instant heating and water temperature digitally displayed and the hairdryer has good wind strength. The toilet seat is electronically kept warm and wash basin tap comes with hot water, which really made a difference during cold weather. Breakfast was simple but delicious, with variety enough for a nutritious start to the day. The noodles made by the robot was unexpectedly quite tasty. The complimentary late night porridge was also a warm touch to end the day for guests. There are books spread out throughout the public spaces for guests to borrow (all Chinese books though). The location is rather convenient, about 10-15min walk to 2 metro stations, Jing An Temple Station and Nanjing West Rd station, lots of eateries nearby and a few shopping malls like Kerry Centre are also within walking distance, plus the beautiful Jing An Temple of course. Special thanks to the kind staff named Weekend (Zhou Mo) who extended complimentary late check out till 4pm in view of my late flight.

We stayed here for 4 nights and booked the family suite since there’s 3 of us. The room is very spacious, enough to fit all our luggages and shopping things. Toilet and shower are separated and very clean. The receptionists were very friendly and helpful. Will definitely stay here again if coming to Shanghai. Location near to metro station and surrounded by nice bars.

I last stayed at this hotel 10 years ago, when it was still named ”Regal International East Asia Hotel”. 10 years later, when I had the opportunity to stay at this hotel again, I was surprised that the hotel was more or less kept as the same, with a similar classy style and decor. Even the rooms looked the same! Although they were probably never renovated, the fixtures and fittings were kept in very good condition and the beds comfortable. It is located in a very classy and laid back part of Xujiahui, Shanghai which was part of the former french concession. I had a good stroll down Hengshan Road, and found that while it was tree-lined and as pretty as ever, there were more cafes and malls there now. The location is also very convenient, a short stroll away from Wukang Building, 5 mins walk to Hengshan Road station and 15mins drive from the bund. As I had just arrived from Chongqing, which is most definitely a second tier chinese city, I was taken aback by the good english spoken by the reception, which was much better than that in a similar 5 star hotel in CQ. The hotel staff all provided good service and were courteous. The room was large and I appreciated the work table, something that is not common in other hotels of similar price range. The toilet's design was a little strange though, as there was no real separation from the shower area and the sink(only had a glass door). While I didn't have the time to use the hotel's facilities, there was a large indoor swimming pool and a fully equipped gym-- with fitness instructors and classes. Very impressive. The breakfast at the lobby restaurant was also good, with a good selection of hot food and bread, nothing to complain about. I also loved taking a stroll in the garden behind the restaurant, where locals were exercising and the gentle winter breeze uplifted my mood greatly. Overall, for the price paid, it is a good value for money hotel in Xujiahui, Shanghai, I love the hotel itself and the neighbourhood it is located in. I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to others and would definitely stay here again if I am back in Shanghai, China.

KKhosIt was very worth the for 4 night stay. Breakfast was very excellent, tasty and delicious deserts, you can have any food type, drinks you could get. Service were excellent, such as receptions, they are easy to communicate in English compared to how difficult it can be to understand people at China. The location itself is very perfect. There is a nearby mall only 1 crossroad ahead you can get anything you like at there such as Starbucks, Subway, Pizza hut, KFC, Supermarket, Mcdonalds, and the metro is only few walks away which is SUPER convenient for us to transport. Also if you're visiting the Shanghai Disneyland they will transport you there without any charge. When we arrive in Shanghai again, we will definitely come back next time. Thanks to the staff members for excellent service.

Fast response and so kind service....the homestay itself it's quite good and comfortable.it's just on a third floor with stairs, so like me with big and more than one baggage is quite tasking to lift it up to third floor. Location about 300meters from Shanxi South metro station.

PPoh Yong Wenlocation: convenient and easy to get to. Didn't take long to book a didi ride when im leaving the premises. Some of touristy spots are 10ish minutes ride away Service: there were 3 service staff at the counter at any time. A manager by the name Christina was exceptionally helpful with directing me to the places I needed. Posting mail was convenient. China post is 5mins away at the main junction. Hotel cleanliness is top notched too

จารุวรรณDisappointing Experience at The Ritz-Carlton Shanghai I stayed at The Ritz-Carlton Shanghai for two nights, and unfortunately, my experience was far from the luxury service I expected. 1. Discrimination at Flair Rooftop Restaurant On my first night, I visited Flair, the hotel's rooftop restaurant. Before going, I was told at the lobby that the restaurant operates on a first-come, first-served basis, with no reservations. However, when I arrived at around 5:50 PM, the restaurant was only 20% occupied, yet the host told me it was ”fully booked.” Then, the host questioned my intent, asking whether I was there for drinks or dinner. When I said ”dinner,” he suddenly mentioned a 1,600-yuan minimum spending requirement. I agreed without hesitation and ended up spending over 2,200 yuan. But what truly bothered me was the initial rejection and the selective enforcement of the minimum charge, implying that I was being judged based on my appearance or nationality. If the restaurant was truly full, why was I offered a table once I confirmed I would spend a significant amount? 2. Misleading Room Upgrade Offer & Hidden Promotions When I checked in, I had already booked a suite with a city view for around 4,000 yuan. However, the receptionist tried to upsell me a Pearl Tower view for an additional 3,300 yuan, which is an unreasonable price just for a different view. What’s worse is that she failed to inform me about an existing hotel promotion: (cant remember the amount exactly) If I pre-purchased 1,000 yuan, I could use 1,400 yuan at Flair rooftop restaurant. I only found out about this the next day and when I asked whether I could retroactively apply this promotion to my bill (which was charged to my room), I was told it was not possible because I had to buy the package in advance. Had I known about this offer beforehand, I would have gladly used it. Instead, the staff prioritized upselling me a more expensive view rather than informing me of real benefits available to hotel guests. 3. Concierge Service & Taxi Nightmare The service at the concierge was another major disappointment. I had a reservation at a Chinese restaurant across the river and asked the concierge to arrange a taxi for me. Knowing that taxis in Shanghai can be unreliable and tricky (as I had experienced the night before with an airport taxi taking me to three wrong hotels and turning off the meter), I was relieved when the concierge used Didi (a ride-hailing app) to book a ride. However, when the car arrived, the concierge instructed a bellboy to walk me to the car, but he never confirmed whether it was actually mine. Just as the door was closing, a woman with luggage rushed in, claiming it was her ride to the airport. It turned out the car was not for me but for an entirely different passenger! At this point, I was already late for my dinner reservation. When I walked back to the concierge to ask what happened, he seemed irritated and dismissively said, ”Don’t worry” before reluctantly walking me to the correct car. This lack of professionalism and carelessness was incredibly frustrating. If you’re arranging a ride for a guest, ensure they get into the correct car. Final Thoughts This all happened in just one night—I can't imagine what else could go wrong during my stay. I sincerely hope no other guests have to go through such an experience. The Ritz-Carlton brand is known for its luxury and top-tier hospitality, but what I encountered was discriminatory treatment, misleading sales tactics, and poor service coordination. I hope management takes this feedback seriously and improves their service, ensuring all guests receive fair and professional treatment, regardless of their appearance or nationality. Ps: nice swimming pool by the way!!

GGuest UserThe room was amazing with a stunning view. On the whole it was a fantastic stay but there were one or two issues- 1. The yoga mats in the gym were filthy. And 2. I was bothered on a few occasions by cleaners or people coming to knock on the door e.g.the cleaner came inside the room even though I said it was too late and I didn't want the room to be cleaned now. It was around 5pm and no one had cleaned the room during the day, but by that time I was ready to relax. There was a language barrier so she just came in and started replacing snacks and drinks and tried to start cleaning up in the bathroom and I had to ask her to leave. I noticed before I left that there was a button for 'do not disturb' but it wasn't obvious so it would be good for the staff to mention that when showing you to your room. I also think it's a good idea for them to have a book with information regarding the restaurant, gym, spa etc.etc. there's some info on the TV but it isn't very detailed.

GGuest UserWe booked a Parent-Kid Suite, which was advertised to accommodate four adults, but throughout our stay, only three towels were provided. Additionally, the only bathroom is located right next to one of the bedrooms, with no door and a fully transparent shower space. This setup is extremely awkward and inconvenient unless you’re traveling with very young children. The noise from the bathroom also inevitably disturbs whoever is sleeping in that bedroom. Another disappointment was the check-in process. We arrived at the hotel around 4 PM, but the front desk informed us that our room was still not ready due to a late check-out from the previous guests. This was frustrating, especially after a long flight, as we had expected to check in on time and freshen up immediately. That said, aside from the strange room layout, the hotel does have its positives. The location is great, with a partial view of The Bund, and the price is reasonable for this area. Overall, while the hotel has potential, the room design and service need improvement.

MMochafrappppThe room was much older than expected and looked very worn. For the amount we paid I expected the room to at least be more presentable. It did not look like the hotel photos anymore. There was also no conditioner provided, nor body lotion, just shampoo, body wash and hand soap. Toothbrushes can be picked up from the reception. Plug points require a lot of strength to insert, and plugs need to be inserted at an angle. Had to get help to put in our plugs. That being said, our 2nd floor service ladies were prompt and helpful. The room was also as big as you see in the photos. Bed was comfortable, check in was efficient, breakfast noodles were great. Added on for additional breakfast for 2 nights and extended the room to 2pm check out for 99Y. We were on the 2nd floor close to the lift and there was noise until around 10+pm but other than that it was bearable. The breakfast was also on the 2nd floor. Location was also great. 5-7min walk straight to the Bund. On this street you can easily see the oriental Pearl tower once you exit the hotel. Nanjing East (Huawei showroom & Daimaru) is right behind the hotel. Manner Coffee and Chagee are both 1 street away (in opposite directions). DIDI can easily pick/drop u off in front of the hotel. It was the weekend and we did not experience any road closures. The hotel is also next door to a branch of a famous crab restaurant chenglonghangxie. Lailaixiaolong, animate, shendacheng are all within walking distance. While we were there, there were 2 separate filmings happening over 2 days. Easy enough to get to Pudong as well. Overall enjoyed our stay, but wish the room was not so worn out.

Just a short walking distance away is Yu Garden Train Station as well as Yu Garden itself, which is one stop away from Nanjing Road and the Pearl Oriental Tower. The service staff are warm, welcoming and super helpful! Rooms are very well designed giving a homely feeling and there are even robots to help send your deliveries or extra toiletries you need! TTOBACCOVANILLEThis hotel used to be Senz spa hotel, now became Double tree by Hilton. Because I enjoyed the spa and massage facilities last time I stayed I missed the massage used to be offered by this hotel but other than that I liked this hotel a lot. Very clean and slightly high ceiling in the room makes everything very comfortable and relaxing. The breakfast is kind of usual standard for this type of hotel but this hotel is directly connected to an excellent shopping street called Lidoway where I could find a lot of restaurants and bars just outside of the hotel. Highly recommended for those who are looking for relaxing stay close to Hongqiao airport and EXPO area in Qingpu
