"Our stay was absolutely delightful. The hotel's overall service was meticulous and thoughtful, and the staff were warm and friendly. The airport shuttle bus was spacious and comfortable, and the welcome fruit platter, late-night snacks, breakfast, and small farewell gift upon check-out all demonstrated the hotel's genuine care for its guests. The two alpacas and little squirrels in the courtyard added a wonderful touch of warmth and fun to our trip. I'd particularly like to thank one of the hotel staff members. Yesterday, Beijing experienced a heavy downpour, and the ride-sharing car my family and I were in got a flat tire due to flooded roads, leaving us stranded in the middle of the street and unable to return to the hotel. It just so happened that her family was picking her up from work, and after learning about our situation, she proactively helped coordinate and drove us all back to the hotel entrance, politely refusing any compensation. For us, who were in such a difficult predicament at the time, her help was incredibly valuable and left us feeling incredibly touched. This small incident truly made me appreciate the staff's sense of responsibility and kindness, and it left me with an excellent impression of the hotel's service philosophy and management. To be able to cultivate such sincere, professional, and helpful employees, I believe this hotel is truly worthy of guests' trust. If I ever return to Beijing in the future, I will definitely choose to stay here again. I wish the hotel all the best and continued success to every staff member."

"Everything was great from the first second! The staff is polite and friendly: we had a lot of questions and they helped us all the time, what is really good for foreigners. The room was not so big, but it's nice: clean bright, comfortable and really calm. So, if you have some problems with sleeping, don't worry: you will sleep like a baby. By the way: the hotel has a good location, which is important if you don't have enough time (one day or some hours). So, if you are looking a good place to stay, you have found it. I think we'll come back here next time"

"The Yard Hotel in Beijing boasts a fantastic location positioned right between two major metro stations. A notable downside, however, is that surrounding security is incredibly tight due to its proximity to Tiananmen Square. You must carry your passport constantly just to move in and out of the restricted tourist streets where the hotel is situated.Looking at the interior, while the building itself is quite old, it is beautifully decorated with authentic Chinese art pieces. On the negative side, the rooms are completely windowless, and the thin walls offer very little soundproofing against noisy neighbors. The hotel does provide free cultural activities which are inherently interesting, but unfortunately, the facilitator lacked professionalism during the session. It remains a charming choice for culture enthusiasts, provided you do not mind strict neighborhood checkpoints."

"My stay at Mercure Beijing South Station was absolutely fantastic! I was incredibly satisfied with the overall service, environment, and dining experience. It's definitely a hidden gem near Beijing South Station, offering both great value for money and excellent service quality. The hotel's location is truly unbeatable. It's so close to Beijing South Station that you can walk there, which is incredibly convenient for travelers catching high-speed trains or transferring – it saves so much time and hassle. The front desk staff were gentle yet professional. Check-in and check-out were quick and smooth, with no delays. They patiently and meticulously answered all my questions, providing attentive service that made the entire experience comfortable. The guest rooms were exceptionally clean and tidy, with excellent ventilation and natural light. The overall environment was quiet and peaceful, with excellent soundproofing. The bedding was soft, clean, and fluffy, and the mattress was just right – so relaxing to lie on. The bathroom had a separate wet and dry area and no unpleasant odors. The toiletries were comprehensive and effective, and the facilities were well-maintained, contributing to a high-quality living experience. I have to specifically praise the hotel's breakfast buffet! The variety was truly extensive and complete, with a great mix of Chinese and Western options, and a good balance of meat and vegetables – so many choices! There were Chinese hot dishes, various congees, steamed buns, noodles, cold appetizers, and a full array of Western bread, cakes, toast, salads, and drinks. The biggest bonus was the live noodle station, where fresh noodles and wontons were made on the spot. The broth was savory and delicious, with rich toppings and an authentic taste. Ingredients were replenished fresh daily, and restocking was quick, so there were never any empty platters. The fruits were fresh and juicy, and the desserts had a delicate texture. The overall taste was light and palatable, not greasy. The restaurant environment was clean and bright, and tables were cleared promptly, making for a very comfortable dining experience. Overall, I could clearly feel the standardized service and meticulous attention to detail from both the HUAZHU and Mercure brands. With its attentive service, clean environment, and consistent dining quality, this hotel is undoubtedly the top choice in the South Station area, whether for business trips, leisure travel, or high-speed rail transfers. I will definitely be returning on my next visit to Beijing!"

"Review from a non-chinese tourist. Pros: location, low to almost none level of noise, cleanliness. Cons: no one can assist you in english, breakfast (if you’re not chinese or adapted to local food). It’s right next to Beijing West Railway station, so multiple malls, shops, cafes etc available. When I was checking in I was given key to a wrong room - someone else was already staying there. I understand mistakes happen but after 20 hrs of travel it’s hard. The biggest dissapointment was the breakfast: it said that it’s buffet with chinese and western food. In reality almost no food that you would normally eat for breakfast, lots of chinese food (I wouldn’t have problem with it if it wasn’t so greasy - it’s just not the best for starting your day). Overall - good for the price and location."
