"Our stay was excellent. The room had a view of the Liangma River, and I assume every room offers a different angle of the river. The room was private and quiet, and impeccably clean. The turndown service, which included homemade drinks in a thermos, was a thoughtful touch. The breakfast selection was vast; we tried both Chinese and American options, and both were delicious. Our butler, Bitty, provided exceptional service from check-in, always responsive to our needs and checking in on our family daily. We received complimentary fruit and dessert upon arrival, and snacks were delivered to our room every evening. Overall, the service was incredibly attentive. We will definitely choose the Bulgari Hotel again on our next visit to Beijing."

"A quadrangle courtyard in a royal garden! This super-spacious suite even had a welcome snack box that was a puzzle to open, like a giant toy. The fruit selection was plentiful, and all the snacks were delicious 😋. The service was warm and attentive. For breakfast, I had a jianbing guozi from the imperial kitchen, along with old Beijing-style fried dough sticks and tofu pudding – absolutely delightful. I really liked the quality of the makeup, outfits, and photography from the hotel's travel photoshoot service. When I entered the Summer Palace through the side gate and saw the surprised looks on the other tourists' faces, I instantly felt like I had traveled from the Qing Dynasty to modern times, haha 😂. This is definitely a hotel I'll stay at again; highly recommended!"

"When people talk about the Mandarin Oriental Wangfujing, Beijing, they often label it as a 'luxury hotel in the hutongs,' a 'hidden gem along the central axis,' or a 'masterpiece of the Qianmen regeneration project.' But if we set aside these external definitions and focus purely on the stay experience, the deepest impression it left on me can be summed up in two words: sheer comfort. This comfort doesn't stem from any single specific amenity, but rather from an overall feeling. Tucked away deep within Beijing's Qianmen hutongs, stepping through the gate from the bustling streets into the courtyard felt like entering a different dimension of time. Grey bricks, dark tiles, courtyard walls, and tree shadows – all elements were distinctly Beijing, yet without any forced emphasis on being 'Beijing.' The design didn't just stop at symbolism; instead, it re-organized the hutong courtyard lifestyle, truly allowing guests to live in a modern Beijing courtyard home. Beijing in the summer is particularly suited to this place. The afternoon sun dappled through the leaves onto the courtyard, with doves perched quietly on the branches. Sitting in the courtyard, watching the clouds drift slowly between the eaves and grey walls, you suddenly understand why old Beijingers always said, 'There must be a tree in the courtyard.' The tree not only provides shade but also marks the passage of time. The wind changes, the light changes, and the tree shadows change. Many mention its 'hidden location in the hutongs,' but what's truly worth experiencing isn't just the hidden aspect, but rather that elusive relationship with Beijing's urban culture. Outside the walls are the hustle and bustle of Qianmen, while inside, the unique sense of scale characteristic of courtyard living is preserved. Looking up, you see the sky; looking down, you see tree roots and青砖 (qingzhuan - traditional grey bricks); occasionally, birdsong can be heard. These seemingly ordinary details become precious in today's city. The service also left an excellent impression. It wasn't an overly enthusiastic kind of service, but rather a sincere and well-measured attentiveness. Help was always there when needed, yet they maintained an appropriate distance when not. Many high-end hotels can achieve professionalism, but it's not easy to make guests feel genuine care, and this place truly has that ability. Near check-out, I had a chat with the duty manager, Chloe. What began as a simple conversation unexpectedly became a memorable part of this stay. She meticulously detailed the design philosophy and spatial characteristics of the hotel's 42 rooms, patiently explaining everything from the layouts of different courtyards to the subtle differences between rooms. One could feel her genuine understanding and passion for this hotel, which in turn gave me a more complete appreciation for this hidden hutong gem. My special thanks also go to Chloe for her insights and hospitality. Upon leaving, I felt that the most precious aspect of this hotel wasn't its luxury, but rather how it has preserved the ambiance of courtyard living in a rapidly changing city like Beijing. Shade from trees, grey walls, summer clouds, birdsong. These seemingly ordinary things collectively form a part of my memory of summer in Beijing. If staying at a hotel is about experiencing a space, then the Mandarin Oriental Wangfujing is more about experiencing a Beijing way of life. It may not be for everyone, but for those willing to slow down and embrace the city, beauty can be found everywhere here."

"This was my second stay at The Chedi. My last visit was before the floods, and it's still just as perfect. The customer service contacted me in advance and added me to a WeChat group. For my wife's birthday, they sent sparkling wine to the room, and when we ordered dinner at Rongfu Yan, they even included longevity noodles. My wife was very pleased, thank you! I heard that The Chedi ranks second among luxury wilderness hotels in China, with The Banyan Tree Lijiang being first. I've been to The Banyan Tree as well, and personally, I don't think it compares to The Chedi. I'll definitely be returning to The Chedi again."

"Firstly, the hotel's environment and facilities are excellent. However, for a hotel of this caliber, I can only give it a bad review. The service is extremely poor and lacks professional hotel management knowledge. During check-in, the front desk staff missed many details that should have been communicated, and their business handling skills and techniques need improvement. Next, I'd like to specifically mention Mark from the concierge department, whose attitude was extremely hostile, arrogant, and disrespectful. I promised you a bad review, and you'll certainly get it! I have no idea how hotel management trains their staff. After Mark learned I was a Black Diamond member, he repeatedly incited his colleagues to harass me by phone, asking me to 'go easy on them,' which brings me to the second person. The second person I'd like to name is Zhao Jing, Assistant Director of Housekeeping. I genuinely **cannot** understand how someone like this can become a mid-level manager at a hotel like InterContinental. After Mark's colleagues repeatedly harassed me by phone, I intended to give them a break. I mentioned that I had booked two rooms, and my other guest was about to arrive at the hotel to check in. I asked them to provide good service. Zhao Jing, I ask you, why in the world did you **harass** my guest when the issue was between us!? My guest reported that from check-in to riding the elevator to their room door, a staff member (Zhao Jing) kept pestering them to speak well of me and 'go easy on them'? She relentlessly badgered them the entire way. Any issues between us can be resolved directly. I had clearly stated that it was my guest. Do you, as someone who works in a hotel, not understand the meaning of the word 'guest'? I ask you! Why did you go and harass my guest?! Is this the InterContinental hotel's way of service? Who would dare bring important guests to this hotel with service like this? Furthermore, Zhao Jing repeatedly harassed me from the afternoon of check-in, to the evening, and until the next morning, despite me having clearly told her at least six or seven times, 'I do not want to receive any more texts or calls from you.' Buddy, I came to the hotel to rest. Otherwise, I could just go argue with people on a bridge all day, couldn't I? Before checking out, I had the opportunity to communicate in person with General Manager Mr. Mao. I hope Mr. Mao handles this properly, and I would like to thank him for arranging a car for my departure. On a positive note, I can commend the chef at the hotel's Chinese restaurant on the third floor; their cooking is quite skillful."

"The lobby is beautiful, with its high ceilings and a massive landscape painting. Every photo taken there looks like it belongs in a magazine. The Executive King Room directly overlooks the CBD, which is a rare find in Beijing. You can lie in bed and enjoy the night views of the 'Big Trousers' (CCTV Headquarters) and the China Zun. The service was excellent throughout my stay, and the hotel's location is very convenient. A big thank you to Mercer from Guest Relations. I'll definitely be back!"

"The hotel has a fantastic design, very grand and impressive. The location is super convenient, right above the subway entrance. Being at Wangfujing No. 1, it helps avoid Chang'an Avenue traffic, which means less congestion while still being very accessible. The room's light switches are easy to use, and the toiletries provided are better than many other five-star hotels I've stayed in. During housekeeping, they noticed I was using a water bottle as a temporary cup and thoughtfully replaced it with a disposable one. They also proactively placed my suitcase on the luggage rack. I'll definitely stay at The Puxuan again on my next trip to Beijing."

"We had a wonderful stay, and I was very satisfied. The front desk staff saw I had a child and kindly upgraded us to a more spacious room, which was very convenient as it allowed my aunt and me to have separate areas to look after the little one. From the moment we arrived, the staff were incredibly helpful, even assisting with our luggage. The toiletries are consistently excellent; the orange-scented lotion was a hit with the kids. The hotel is well-maintained, and the pleasant scent in the room was a nice touch. We enjoyed dinner at the Zijin Pavilion on the third floor, and the service was outstanding. Breakfast was served on the first floor and had a good selection of Western dishes. My child keeps saying they want to stay here again. Highly recommended!"

"The location is superb, allowing for easy strolls along Wangfujing Street anytime. The modern hotel, adorned with a classically charming entrance, truly stands out. I especially loved the spacious walk-in closet in the room, perfect for families to store their luggage! The bathroom fixtures were also exactly to my taste. The hotel staff were all incredibly enthusiastic, making us feel very much at home despite traveling from afar. When we needed an iron for the room that evening, the housekeeping staff promptly delivered it, set it up, and ensured it was ready for our use – exceptionally efficient. Furthermore, the breakfast offered unique Beijing specialties, and I was particularly delighted by the presentation of the breakfast tea, served in an English silver tea set, adding a wonderful sense of ritual. If I hadn't been in a rush, I would have savored every moment! I will definitely stay here again next time!"
