This covered warehouse / shop several years ago, has a fantastic history, are re-build with the addition of a new wing, this hotel became the an eye catcher, combining the new architecture and the town's famous art nouveau style. After a stay this weekend, in the traditional wing a perfect solution for our stay. I was though disappointed to the Christmas dinner & breakfast, but in many ways a large selection & good balance, BUT, very dry especially the meat served in the evening. Never mind, normally this restaurant is very very good.

We enjoyed our stay at Scandic Ålesund very much. The ladies and gentlemen at the reception were very friendly. The hotel is located in a quiet part but still very central. I have stayed at Scandic hotels in different places and had a great experience each time. The breakfast buffet is always a highlight (which is one of the main reasons I choose Scandic often), usually quite a selection of food for those who have intolerances (Here it was for example about four different kinds of plant based milk). This time I had to leave before breakfast time so I really enjoyed the option to have the breakfast to go since I had a very early flight.

We enjoyed our stay at Scandic Ålesund very much. The ladies and gentlemen at the reception were very friendly. The hotel is located in a quiet part but still very central. I have stayed at Scandic hotels in different places and had a great experience each time. The breakfast buffet is always a highlight (which is one of the main reasons I choose Scandic often), usually quite a selection of food for those who have intolerances (Here it was for example about four different kinds of plant based milk). This time I had to leave before breakfast time so I really enjoyed the option to have the breakfast to go since I had a very early flight.

This covered warehouse / shop several years ago, has a fantastic history, are re-build with the addition of a new wing, this hotel became the an eye catcher, combining the new architecture and the town's famous art nouveau style. After a stay this weekend, in the traditional wing a perfect solution for our stay. I was though disappointed to the Christmas dinner & breakfast, but in many ways a large selection & good balance, BUT, very dry especially the meat served in the evening. Never mind, normally this restaurant is very very good.
