Pestana Alvor South Beach Premium Suite Hotel

This was our second visit to this lovely hotel. Reception and restaurant staff friendly and helpful. It is set right on beach. Lovely boardwalk for walking. Town centre is a five minute walk away. Good eateries and great Inter Marche. Breakfast is very good sadly because of awful weather we had to eat inside a few times. Guests need to be reminded you can ask for coffee, such as lattes and if you fancy fried eggs they will make for you. Toaster really needs a rethink. I could make my muesli, get a water and still wouldn't be brown. Food on hot plates needs to be hotter. I only took from there on first day. Lots of options though. Different milks catering for different palates. Cleaning of room was not so good. Our side tables and main table were not touched in the seven days. Had to ask her for milks. Cleaning floors was not great either.

We appreciated the small size of this hotel, its quietness and its perfect location. Fantastic breakfast buffet. We complained about the bed confort on 2d day and the hotel manager immediately ensured we got another mattress. This is really a customer service minded place. Lots of restaurants close to it, large beach is front of the hotel. We really recommend it.

This is the sixth, visit my Wife and myself have made to this hotel, and i can say without hesitation, we have never been disappointed Great location, modern and comfortable rooms, best of all are the staff from the maids to the management all are friendly, and efficient, with a great customer focus. Special shout out to Andre and the girls on reception for whom nothings too much trouble and who tolerate my awful attemps at the portugeuse language ,with great foreberance.

Fantastic hotel made extra special by the attention of Andre and all staff who are always bright and cheerful and always willing to help. Rooms are gorgeous, food and drink very good and within 10 min walk to Alvor centre. Cannot wait to return

Very friendly staff who were attentive, informative of local places to go, eat and explore and catered for any request we had. The beach is very close (end of hotel grounds) with a card restricted access. The beach itself is very clean, no stones and plenty of sunbeds and cabana’s.

Hotel Below Expectations My stay at this hotel was far from the four-star experience I expected. Right at reception, I was greeted with cold and indifferent service, with clear differentiation between customers. The informal and relaxed a**osphere of the place, which should be inviting, was permeated by a disdain that contrasted with the courtesy and ease expected from a hotel of this level. The facilities themselves were comfortable, but quality service was lacking. The team seemed disinterested and unprepared, leaving something to be desired in terms of attention and proactivity. Despite the negative points, the hotel offers a peaceful and relaxing environment, ideal for those looking to escape stress. The proximity to the beach is a plus, allowing guests to have direct contact with nature, especially in low season. However, the overall experience falls short of what is advertised and lacks essential services, such as massages, an outdoor spa with sea views and, at least, a pool with heated water for colder days. To top it off, the lack of activities both inside the hotel and on the nearby beach leaves the place lifeless and without leisure options for guests. In short, this hotel failed to meet my expectations and I would not recommend it to anyone looking for a complete and quality experience. The lack of essential services, the unprepared staff and the indifferent a**osphere at reception left something to be desired and made me feel that the amount paid was not in line with what was delivered.

I have just had a week staying in Alvor south beach I would like to say to the manager his staff are a credit to the hotel everyone from reception to bar tenders also waiting staff they looked after us always with a warm welcome and got us anything we needed the house keepers kept our room lovely always smiles and said hello when passed my only negative is you have a beautiful pool area that could do some barbecue evening so you could stay in the hotel on a night bit of entertainment but Alvor town is lovely to walk into also thank you for a super holiday Diane.

Thanks a lot for the wonderful stay. For us, it was just perfect. We had a great room with balcony and a very nice view to the Ocean. It was not too full, very relaxing and it was just that, we were looking to. The staff was very friendly and helpfull. It was really fun to stroll around on the beach or in the nearby village. This was our 5th visit to South Beach, our previous visit was 6 months prior and we noticed a big difference. A few main points: - you used to receive a welcome drink which was a lovely touch. This has now stopped - at breakfast, tea and coffee used to be served to you. This has now stopped you have to help yourself - the rooms and bar area are good, fresh and funky, but the corridors are looking really tired and need a refresh. Stained/ old carpets, tired/grubby paintwork. - pool area is looking really tired and outdated. Sunbeds are awful, crappy plastic beds, many damaged, all sun bleached. These need changing. - decking area around the pool getting damaged, uneven. Not well maintained. - Gardens and main pool area not well kept, lots of seeds/ leaves from palm trees all over the floor and not cleared in the 6 days I was there - waiter/waitress service really poor. We used to get pool waiter service, even when you sat up in the bar area you would.be served. Not this time. - had contacted the hotel ahead of time asking for a ground floor room to which I had a confirmation from them via email. Arrived and they told me this now wouldn't be possible as they are full. On the positive, hotel is in a fabulous location for the beach. Alot of the staff have been there for years, are really friendly and recognise you which is great. Breakfast is fantastic and generally it has a really modern/ funky vibe. It just needs a little refresh and tidying up. Also, lunch/dinner at the hotel isnt great, much better options on the broadwalk if you don't want to walk to town. I will be visiting again in June 2024 as I love the location and hotel options on the beach are limited in Alvor.
