Given the reviews, I was not keen to stay here, but thanks to Ajax v Napoli there were no others available. To sum up, this isn't a 5 star hotel by any stretch of the imagination. It is a 3 star hotel. Positives: - Location is superb - Architecturally stunning building - Large room (in my case, at least) - WiFi speeds are good. I was able to do video meetings from my room - Staff were pleasant and friendly Negatives: - Inside, the hotel is dark and in a state of disrepair - The kitchen closes early, and room service appears to not be possible. I was told that I should download Uber Eats if I wanted food after 10pm. - The room is tidy, but basic areas like around the sinks, bath, windows and TV were dirty - There is a smell of sewage that comes from the shower drain - The majority of channels on the TV are unavailable - There is no air conditioning. I had 2 tower fans in my room, and I had to use them both just to stay cool - No help with luggage, not that I couldn't manage myself - You get a bottle of water on the table when you check in. I had some the first night because it was so hot in the room. The second night when I was working late, I turned to open my fresh bottle. Nope! Same half empty bottle, had just been moved back to the table again. This is supposed to be a 5 star hotel! Stay somewhere else. A few weeks earlier, I stayed in the Sofitel Legend. THAT is a 5 star hotel.

Hotel location was good as it is in the central area to almost all activities that we went. But however, hotel room service did not help us to empty our toilet trash bin every single day despite that we gave tips everyday, so I'm not sure how clean exactly is their room service. Bring extra cash for hotel tax and deposits as we were only told on the 1st night of checking in when the recept call up to our room to ask us to go to the reception to pay for our hotel tax and deposit, where only the deposits will be refunded upon checking out if you did not consume their in-room beverages or destroy their hotel etc. Hotel location is very near to 2 super mart, and also the ******** coffee shop, cafe and restaurants, not very convenient for kids as every where smells of ********. Breakfast was super good spread, large varieties, we love it.

Great location, near to food places and the canal. The only time it was inconvenient is over the weekends when the close off the roads after 10.30pm till 7am the next morning so taxi or ubers can't drop you off at your hotel lobby, so something to be wary of when checking in or out with huge luggages over the weekend. Nothing to complain about the hotel itself however, will definitely be back!

Art'otel is a family friendly hotel. It is centrally located and very close to the train station. We took the train from the airport to central station. The hotel was within a 5 minute walk. They let us check in early as our flight landed there in the morning. The hotel was very clean. The staff were very friendly and gave us great service. Breakfast was very good with a variety of options. Excellent espresso! We were able to walk to many of the attractions.

The decoration style of this INK hotel is more avant-garde, that is, the rooms are small, the location is superior, and it is very close to the central station. The hotel is quite close to the central train station. It is also close to the Chinatown, the Rembrandt museum, the restaurants, and other touristy places. The staffs are friendly and helpful. There is a small restaurant on the first floor. There are also a small shelves with snacks and drinks behind the receptionist, so it’s quite convient to get some midnight snacks. The room has a nice size and it is very clean. The decoration is quite playful and modern similar to other Ibis hotel. The price is good for the location and the size of the room. However, the room is not very sound proof. It’s easy to hear the sound coming from other rooms and form the corridor. At this time, Holland does not require the mask anymore inside the hotel so it’s nice to feel back to how it was before the pandemic.

Right next to the subway station, there are trams 4 and 14. We came out of the airport to take the train to the Central Station, and then changed to No. 4 to the hotel. The streets and roads in Amsterdam are not all asphalt roads, many of which are small bricks and have a lot of luggage. You have to choose the side of the subway station, otherwise you will walk too hard. Old hotel, very clean, very warm reception. No breakfast choice. Excellent location, could walk to every “tourist” place. . Plenty of restaurants and bars right outside the doors! The breakfast at the hotel was great with lots of options and the staff very accommodating! Pastry chef is outstanding..deserves a raise!! Croissants the lightest fluffiest ever! Everything tastes as good as it looks! Front desk staff very nice, Sarah went out of her way to “fix” a minor problem and continued ask if everything was ok each time she saw us. Rooms clean and roomy, beds comfortable would stay again if ever in Amsterdam and recommend this hotel to anyone who asks! Transportation from airport is a little pricey (taxi for 4 ..70-100 euros depending on traffic ) but once you are there no need to use again.

Set right next to the best part of the city, Leidseplein which is very well connected to all the notable landmarks including walkable distance to both the Rijksmuseum and Van Gogh museum as well as the famous Voldelpark. The hotel has very modern interiors and all the facilities to make ones stay comfortable. The room and bathroom were very clean and spacious unlike the other European hotels. The hotel staff were courteous and helpful. There are 100's of restaurants serving all types of food and all are within walking distance from the hotel. Getting to Dam Square which is the shopping hub and Amsterdam Central station is just a single tram ride. Overall, the hotel is very clean and comfortable and nothing can beat the convenient location of this hotel.

Now we start with the negative: - dirty bedroom (picture annex) - very tight stairs (as all the ams structs), but with a heavy bag becomes a problem - room bags, Not very hygienic - change of towels almost ok (only one was clean instead of two) - breakfast starts at 8:30, so if you have some activities to do soon you will not be able to enjoy it, and it is not abundant and not suitable for the vegans - the mirror in the room above the washing machine really too high,I had to put my feet up - the bed can be good for a few days, but it deeps - the rooms are NOT soundless (Maybe you'll get someone who enjoys like we have) - you can't smoke in the room, but there are windows that open and still smoke in the bar so the whole smell is up for the common bathroom we haven't had any problems, The hotel was always clean and closed normally, we never found anyone. Furthermore, the “reception” is a bar/pub that closes soon, so you will not find much ******.

My stay at the MAI hotel fills me with mixed emotions. Before booking I researched many hotels, as this was a belated anniversary trip and we wanted a boutique hotel close to the attractions. On arrival we were pleasantly suprised by the location, being within 10 mins walk from Amterdam Central station and situated on the 'Canals'. I had reserved the 'King Size - Canal View' room (with the love package) but on arrival there was much confusion. The hotel reception was manned only by 'Edwin', who seemed to be over whelmed with the queue of people waiting and we were eventually checked into the incorrect room. After spending 10 minutes in the wrong room, we returned to reception to complain. Edwin looked extremely confused, was unsure how the system had allocated this room but was finally able to book us into the correct room. The Canal View room was nice and spacious but not as luxurious as we had expected. We were also dissapointed by the lack of a staffed bar but it did have an 'Honesty' bar, which is a fancy way of saying serve yourself and pay. In summary this is a hotel that flattered to decieve and looks to be suffereing the affects of being short staffed. It felt like staying in a very nice Hostel, rather than a choice boutique hotel,

The owner Rachel Bonnewell was lovely and treated me with warmth and kindness from check-in to check-out, she was the perfect host. I loved the unique and quirky decor and the personally prepared breakfast was delicious and a great start to my day walking Amsterdam. The hotel location was perfect also in Central Amsterdam, I literally walked everywhere during my 2 days in the City. My room was €150 per night with breakfast. The Inn is, as in the name, 'upstairs' and the stairs are typical of old Dutch houses in as much as climbing them is not for anyone who has ill health or any mobility issues... Note, there is no lift and the stairs are narrow, steep and twisty. I will certainly stay again and hope to do so in the Summer of 2024.

We spent 5 nights in the spa room on the top floor and had a great time. the location is within walking distance of everything that we wanted to see with lots of restaurants and pubs nearby. As almost everyone else reports, there is a lot of noise from the street but since everything closed down at midnight it wasn't too bad and it's really just the bustle of people not the noise of drunken brawls. the breakfast was at a nearby restaurant and was superb. The staff was always pleasant and helpful. The spa bath was nice to relax in after a long day of walking and eating and drinking!
