Well, well, well, what can i write or say about this gem. The Electra Palace Hotel, located bang in the middle of downtown Athens is absolutely superb. Everything the city has to offer is within walking distance from the hotel. The view of the Acropolis from our room is spectacular, not to mention the to ”die-for” view from the 8th floor restaurant - you can ”touch” the Acropolis from here!😄 The breakfast at the Electra Palace is top notch and is delicious. The service at the hotel is top notch, and one of the best I have ever experienced in over 30 years of travelling. The staff, from the concierge to the receptionists, and restaurant staff, all provided extremely high professional services. I will single out George, the receptionist, who made us feel extremely welcome with one of the biggest smiles and professional services I have ever experienced. George has a saying each time we interacted with him, and it was ”each time you smile, good things will always come your way.” This saying came through when George found my brand new Samsung Ear Bud after I lost it and the hotel began a whole day of searching inside the hotel and outside at the restaurants we visited. Thank you, George, you're the best. Also, Dimitris, who helped us with our luggages was fantastic. All in all, Electra Palace Hotel is a superb hotel, and we will definitely go back there.

Hotel is OK. '5 star' in the sense it has all of the amenities required by the city to make it a 5 star but this is not a 5 star in terms of service, modern facilities etc. If you are expecting a 4 star, it is good for the price paid. Pros - roof terrace, bedrooms have quality furnishings, bathroom well appointed Cons - breakfast is like feeding time at the zoo, with very little in terms of variety, fresh fruit etc. Air conditioning barely works. They say it is by design - it is actually because the air con was installed in the 80s probably and has never had the gas changed I suspect. They do not like using the outdoor seating on the roof terrace restaurant side at breakfast. No idea why. Perhaps was just the time of year I was there. 'Gym' is down the block. Literally you have to leave the hotel and walk down a road to use it. Anyway - decent value, would stay again, but you need to know what you are getting.

The hotel is in a great location! The sanitary conditions must be good! The service is also attentive! Will recommend to friends in the future! The front desk said that Ctrip’s price was the worst, so I had to pay more! The second night added 130 euros. It is recommended that Ctrip make the prices more accurate in the future and introduce the rooms in more detail! For example, if we need a bathtub, we should clearly mark it so that we don’t have to be embarrassed when we get to the hotel! !

I was concerned about our two day stay after reading some negative reviews but I had a completely opposite experience. It is a large hotel that has some big groups but they offered very personalized service and took pride in their hotel. Every single person from the doorman to the desk to the cleaner were really friendly and seemed happy to have us there. The location is perfect for exploring the heart of Athens, it is very walkable to the pedestrian area, the Plaka neighborhood and the environs of Athens. I had not even known about the Plaka, but it was at the suggestion of the doorman. The rooms were nice sized and clean, the balcony is small and our room overlooked the garden and the pool. The pool looked very clean and though we didn't use it , it was being enjoyed by others. We did go up to the rooftop where there was a restaurant to see the Acropolis, which you could see from the roof, not from our room at least. We didn't have the food or drinks there and you can't sit and see the Acropolis from there, you have to stand to be able to see the Acropolis, so impressive when lit up. The breakfast was ample and varied and the coffee was delicious. it is in the lower area of the hotel, where they actually had found some ancient ruins which have been preserved, so that is cool, too. I would definitely give my recommendation to this hotel.

Booked two rooms for a three day stay and both rooms were comfortable and quiet. The bathroom in my room was smaller than my daughters but for me it was fine. Small bath but I managed to use it. The staff are great and breakfast was a good start to the day ahead. Nice coffee. Our flight back to the uk was cancelled due to air traffic control going on strike and the hotel let us stay another night without any fuss even letting us stay in the same rooms. All in all I have no regrets booking this hotel and for the price it’s a great choice. Reception booked our taxi to the airport and it was a fixed price of 40 euros.

Strongly recommended. The hotel is in a first-class location, just on the hillside of the Acropolis, less than 10 minutes walk to the Acropolis, and most of the ancient sites are within 20 minutes and are in all directions. Adams Hotel is a basic hotel with an incredible location. It is located hotel in the heart of the popular Plaka area. LOCATION: It could not have been more central. We walked everywhere. It is a 5 - 6 minute walk to the Acropolis and Acropolis Museum. Hadrian’s Arch and the Temple of Olympian Zeus are just around the corner. It is close to Adrianou and Kidathineon Streets, lively, fun streets full of restaurants, bars and shops. Brettos Bar (which I highly recommend) is just a few minutes away. ROOM: Our room was very small but we were only there for one night and it was clean and the bed was comfortable, so it did the job. It was perfectly adequate and was good value for the price. There were small compromises for example the soap/shampoo were in dispensers on the wall instead of having separate toiletries and the towels were small and thin but on the upside, the water supply was strong and stayed hot. SERVICE: Service was consistently friendly and welcoming. Email communication before we arrived was good. They replied quickly and they gave us clear instructions for arrival. They stored our bags for a few hours after check-out so that we could go and explore. In any case we were not rushed out as check-out was 12:00, which is a generous time. A buffet-style breakfast was included in the price. The dining room at the front of the hotel was a pleasant spot to sit and the breakfast was fine. FACILITIES: This is a decent but basic hotel so if you want a range of hotel facilities, then this is not for you. There is a rooftop balcony but we did not go up there (a shame as I believe it has good views of the Acropolis) but thats about it. A very small kiosk in the tiny square outside the hotel, called Salt N Sugar where we grabbed a coffee.

Location Excellent for reaching all the main sites. You can walk to the base of the Acropolis in around 10 mins and all the highlights are within a 30 min walk. Outside the door are a number of cafes/restaurants that are open from 8am for breakfast until late at night. You definitely won’t want to rent a car as the streets are tiny and hard to navigate even for experienced taxi drivers! If you want dropping off, it is easier ask taxis to take you to the temple of Zeus as this is on the main road and you can walk through the side streets for 3 mins to get to the hotel. The surrounding streets are filled with every restaurant, cafe, ice cream shop and souvenir shop you could possibly want. Check in and out We arranged an airport transfer in advance with the hotel for €38.50 and would really advise doing this as the driver met us in Arrivals and the hotel staff met us on the side road and brought us and our luggage to the main door as cars can’t drive down the streets immediately surrounding the hotel. The man on reception was very helpful and gave us a map. We asked for a taxi to be booked to our next destination and this was arranged for us easily and the whole process was very quick. The hotel was extremely quick to respond to emails I sent. Hotel You have a small kitchen upstairs, but this did not seem to contain anything other than tea to drink. There was plenty of crockery and cutlery if you wanted to buy food and eat it there. They have made an effort to make the entrance and stairs pretty and welcoming. The outside is also very attractive. This is not a hotel suited to those with mobility issues as the rooms are accessed up some twisty internal steps. It wasn’t too noisy at night, with only a little noise from the restaurants, but you do get some noise from street buskers and other people opening and closing doors. Room The room is very spacious for a city centre room and had all the expected amenities. There is a safe, but it is very small. The bed was very comfortable with thick pillows. The decor is tasteful if perhaps a little plain. We felt very at home in the room. The main thing we would suggest improving is that both the room door and toilet door were very stiff and required slamming to close and noise carries quite a bit there as the doors have frosted glass panels. The room was cleaned daily. We had a city view room that looked out over the square. Bathroom There is a hairdryer and nice toiletries provided in the bathroom. The only thing missing was liquid soap as they provide bars instead so bring your own if your prefer it. There was a walk in shower and no bath. We would return if we wanted another city break in Athens.
