Not the best experience for us. The room was small , had two small pillows and 1 bath towel and one hand towel for two guests. The resption was very good and further pillows were promised . Fast forward an hour , change of staff , no pillows now available , they are full ! Certainly did not seem so. Addityional towels the following day were no issue. The pool was nice , though not heated , the evening meal was good as was the service. Breakfast also was good and plentiful. However important detail not mentioned when we booked , or advertised in hotel was that the restaurant was closed on the Sunday night. Food of sorts was available. Shame it could have scored a lot better

The rooms are sympathetic, the bed is very comfortable but the bathroom is a little small and the water of the shower and the couch are not very well adjusted (low pressure, very hot/cold water disturbance for the shower, The TV is very convenient in the room, but the wifi network does not necessarily work well (it takes time to load little used personally because it was very much...). Our stay was perfect from a to z ! Everything you can expect from a good Ibis Styles hotel. Very clean, very well decorated, very friendly staff (reception, breakfast and bar) and a very soothing and enjoyable pool/restaurant area. Stayed here for 5 nights whilst visiting the area so had plenty of opportunity to assess its merits and overall I would give it a four out of five. Initially I was a bit doubtful as it seemed rather soulless but its one of those hotels that grows on you the longer you stay and we really enjoyed our time there. It's fairly small for a Best Western and situated in a commercial/industrial area to the south of Avignon and beyond what most people would consider to be a walkable distance so you need a car or you can make use of the local bus service that stops close to the hotel. Our room was clean and comfortable and had a small balcony overlooking the pool and garden which was all well-kept and pleasant to use. We also ate in the restaurant on 3 evenings and enjoyed the food but the menu is very limited with only four starter and main course options so not perfect for everyone. The big plus for the hotel was the quality of its staff who all seemed to be bi-lingual, enthusiastic and engaging, particularly Fabiola who was wonderful. If I was visiting the Avignon area again I would happily book BW Le Lavarin.

My wife and I and another couple had two rooms here in mid-September. The hotel and rooms are decorated with architectural elements and remnants of a former monastery. We were able to beat the Provence heat with the room's AC unit. Rooms have a small, but functional kitchenette of sorts tucked into an armoire. Rooms are quiet and surround a pleasant courtyard. Patrick was an excellent and helpful host. He was especially helpful in getting a taxi for the four of us to the TGV station at an obscene hour of the morning. The night before, I asked for the name and number of the driver in case there were issues. Patrick said, ”If there is a problem, call me and I will take care of it. I don't care if it is 6 in the morning!” This was a good choice for our three nights in Avignon. It is fairly close to the Palace of the Popes and other attractions. We also got good advice from Patrick for a nearby laundromat.
