Mega Cottages

Nusa Lembongan Bali|0.06km from Jungutbatu Beach
This was my 2nd stay here. We used to stay at Nusa Indah next door but it got too crammed and the evenings with extremely loud live music were just horrible, so we moved onto Mega Cottages. They only have 9 x rooms, 5 x bungalows and 4 x rooms. The bungalows cost more and have ocean views but are not as modern as the 4 x rooms at the back. There are no TVs and breakfast is not included in the price which is unusual give the relatively high price charged for basic bungalows on the beach. The pool is lovely and the family owners are just super friendly and nice. You have to specifically ask for housekeeping, pool towels, soap, toilet paper, otherwise they will not clean your room and you will get nothing you don't ask for. The price per night has gone up by roughly A$25 per night in the last year. The back rooms are now 700k compared to 450k last year and the front bungalows 800-900k which is a steep increase. It's a lovely place to have a holiday. The location is great. The beach is out front and the gardens are relaxed and pretty. But this year they rented out all of their sun lounges and the pool use to anyone who asked, so there are lots of young random backpackers and tourists who pay $10 per night in the back streets come and hang out for the day. There are 6 lounges by the pool and 8 lounges on the beach. Some days all were rented out without time limit - some backpackers stayed for 8 hrs straight -and there was nowhere to sit for the guests paying $70-90 per night plus the pool was crowded with young couples /backpackers drinking Bintangs and taking up all of the space which made this often an annoying instead of relaxing stay. I do understand they need to make money but the place was fully booked every day which meant they were some 25 guests around eating, drinking, using the pool and wanting sun beds and the space they paid for in calm surroundings. I could have saved myself $400 that week by staying in a back alley and renting a sun bed for the day. Next door (Lembongan Resort) told all the people ”no, just for guests”. I think Mega Cottage will lose return guests if they don't manage this better, as there were multiple families who had zero space to sit anywhere. The front bungalows are old. Mine had broken floorboards which needed fixing.

Nusa Lembongan
Wayan and All the staff was geneuinely caring and made our stay in Nusa Lembongan very memorable. American Breakfast was quite good (Bacon, Eggs, Bread, Coffee, Fruits) and above average considering the offerings in other restaurants in Nusa Lebongan. Rooms and very clean, bed and pillows comfortable. Pools was great especially after all the sight seeing around the island. Location is beach side but the only down side was that there was no clothes hanger outside whcuh is required considering all the water activities in Nusa and the rooms are not beach side but away from the noise of the main road. The restaurant and their main pool is beach facing though.

If you want everything to be perfect, this place is not for you. However what you get is prime beachfront location, breakfast overlooking the turquoise waters, breathtaking sunsets, a very nice, clean pool and spacious, lush gardens. The rooms are large but basic and the bathrooms could be a little cleaner. If you find their menu too limited, there are plenty of restaurants close by along the beach or a short stroll away on the main road. It seems like people who stayed here, always come back.

A very nice hotel in a great location. The room was good with a nice big modern bathroom with good water pressure. The pool in the villa was a good size. The beach was very inviting with comfy beach chairs. Its in a very chilled location and very quiet. Perfect location for a sunset. I would definitely stay again

I don’t think one night is enough to justify a review but this experience is one that I’d be happy to repeat, if only to confirm that it’s not a one-off. There are quibbles though. Our room had a distinct mouldy smell. There’s no sign of actual mould anywhere in the room and the smell was eventually dispelled by running the aircon and overhead fan at full throttle. The bedside lights - tho use fancy ones with glowing incandescent filaments, are controlled by a dial, not a switch. One wouldn’t dial down to zero. Sometime in the middle of the night I just had to unscrew the bulb in order to get full darkness. These are both maintenance issues which could easily be fixed. They have an engineering team that we saw in action who promptly and efficiently fixed an issue with a speaker so I’d expect tomorrow or the day after both of my quibbles would be memories only.

This family has lived for many days, the location is very good, just on the beach, the breakfast package is delicious, every kind can be selected. The room was clean, but there were no slippers and no disposable supplies. I brought my own. You can rent a pulp board and you can row out to play in good weather. Order wine at the bar at night, and then listen to the sea side, it will feel very good. There is also a pool, spa
