Very friendly staff, clean room, working fan, tasty food - the breakfast with fresh fruit, muesly and creamy curd is recommended as well as traditional Nepali tea/coffee. We appreciate the good quality beds/matrasses and quiet surroundings, allowing a good night sleep. Cultural heratige sites, small local Nepali eating places are close by as well as touristic shops, supermarket, restaurants and a busstation at walking distance.

First, if you’re coming to Bhaktapur, you should really try to spend at least one night here. The city is at its most magical at sunrise and sunset so a day trip really doesn’t do it justice. If you’re going to stay in Bhaktapur, the Vajra guesthouse is a great place to do it. There are plenty of three star hotels that are comfortable and clean, but none of them have the team at the Vajra. The restaurant staff, the front desk, the ownership, and housekeeping all went out of their way to make sure that our stay was comfortable and enjoyable. The location is fantastic only minutes from Terbar Square and a short walk to all the sites in medieval Bhaktapur. The restaurant is very good, too.

Mountain Guesthouse is perfect. The rooms are clean and quite. Sometimes you hear the noise of the streets, but it is Nepal. You get used to it and it’s charming in some kind of way. The location is perfect, just around the corner of Durbar square, and in front of a really nice temple, where you see a lot of locals bringing their offers and doing their rituals. The owner is super kind and makes to most nice breakfast. A bit of a combination between local food, with western: really good bara, some patatoes, with toast and egg as well. Served with tea or coffee. He even got me a famous king curd when I told I love them so much!
