Hotels Near Fisherman's Bastion in Budapest

The hotel locates at a very excellent location. Many main attraction points around it. The restaurant for breakfast buffet has a very good view. ALL the staff of the front desk is very helpful and nice. I arrive on the morning and they help to check the availability of the room. They allow the customer to have early check in early when the availability of the room is OK. Everything of the hotel is good. I recommend other people to stay at this hotel when they come to Budapest. I will stay again in Hilton Budapest when I visit there again.

This is a nice 4 star hotel overlooking the Danube on the Budapest side of the river. Superior rooms are at the front of the hotel, which is the newer part. You have a choice of River View or Castle view, River view is better and attracts a supplement. Our reservation through Trip mentioned Castle view and River view, but you cannot have both! Breakfast is a good choice of hot and cold food, nice coffee and cakes. Rooms are well equipped, clean and serviced daily. Good hot water. Bathrooms have a bath with over bath shower. Toiletries are provided. Towels changed daily. Rooms have safes, kettle with tea and coffee making facilities. The TV was a Cable TV and had a variety of channels, one English, BBC. The hotel has a bar and restaurant and a gym. Staff are very helpful, we managed to check in early and upgrade our room to one with a River view. A good selection of nice restaurants are within 10 mins walk. The hotel is situated directly beneath the Castle, access by the steps or via the funicular which is 5 min walk along by the river, alternatively large buggy vehicles operate a hop on hop off shuttle service. We found that the Bolt taxi service (bit like Uber) is very good. We has a freelance taxi driver try to scam us by not using his meter, we refused to pay and invited him to call the police. Avoid freelance taxi drivers and make sure they use their meters. Bolt uses an app and was a lot cheaper than the price the hotel informed us if we used their taxi service. The hotel is near the Fisherman's Bastion. It is on a mountain and not in the downtown area. It is inconvenient to drag luggage without taking a taxi. The room is relatively small, the bed and pillows are soft, and the sanitary products are all L'Occitane. It is not good that there is no kettle in the room. Special praise is that breakfast can be eaten from 8 o'clock to 11 o'clock, which is great. There is not much to do in Budapest. It's just the right time to go out for brunch at noon. Breakfast is a staple food (we ate four kinds in two days, and finally I caught a train one day and got a breakfast box) + bread, meat, cheese and other buffet, which was very rich. The hotel staff are friendly and the service is very good!

There were some issues(?) when making a reservation, but it is a satisfactory hotel in many ways. Since it has been renovated, it provides facilities and conveniences (capsule coffee, bottled water, chocolate, city maps, etc.). When making an airport pickup reservation, you should provide the Trip.com address instead of the Google Map address (another hotel address in Buda District).

Outstanding Gold Standard Hotel. We stayed five nights in the hotel, and from the time we arrived, we enjoyed the most outstanding professional and welcoming hospitality of the hotel staff. To our suprise, most of the staff communicated well in English and were always welcoming, professional, and friendly. The superior studio provided a spectacular view of the Danube River and the majestic Chain Bridge. The view of the city was absolutely magnificent, especially at night time. Everything in the room was of high standard, and having stayed at many hotels around the world, we could say without hesitation that the soundproofing in the room was Gold Standard. For the first time, we were not disturbed by any external noise from the hotel or from traffic noise from outside the hoìtel. This made our stay enjoyable and memorable. We would like to say a huge thank you to everyone in the hotel for making our stay in Budapest spectacular!

It is a great hotel! Big plus for the staff were great, very accomodating and helpful. The room was clean, but minimalistic. It was enough for one day tho. There was no kettle, but we were fine. The hotel has a great style and the location is super convenient. Breakfast was outstanding. Great value for money! P.S. The pictures of the rooma were upon checkout, but they were super clean when we got there.

Was given a room with park view which was nice. Conveniently located near the metro station and there is a tram stop so its pretty easy to get around. Decent breakfast but will be better if they can change the food once in a while.

We had very good time staying at Novotel Budapest Danube, it is in a great location, the service was very good, the room is very clean, highly recommended.

This is a well-established five-star hotel. The rooms are old, but clean and comfortable. The breakfast is good and you can enjoy it slowly. Most of the guests are retired elderly people. The best thing is that the hotel is in a great location. The scenery outside the window of the river view room is as beautiful as a postcard.

Great stay, cheap, clean, helpful staff, and conveniently located in an area with lots of cool bars and restaurants. Shared dorm beds are decent, just need some curtains, note: place gets really hot in summer.
