SmartApart
"The room was quite ordinary and simple, without anything particularly special or luxurious. However, it was clean and generally well maintained, which made the stay comfortable enough. The bed was fine, and the basic amenities provided were sufficient for our needs. Housekeeping did a decent job, and overall cleanliness was acceptable throughout the stay. While the room design and facilities were fairly basic, it served its purpose well, especially for resting after a long day outside. Overall, it was a reasonably comfortable stay. Nothing impressive, but nothing to complain about either. The cleanliness was the main positive point, and the room met our expectations for a standard stay."
City Hotel Mátyás
"Walked past the entrance several times, must admit looked like a derelict building, room wes basic but clean and comfortable, great shower and great location. Could not fault the value for money. Breakfast had a good selection also"
Anantara New York Palace Budapest - A Leading Hotel of The World
"Beautiful classic hotel in the middle of Pest nearby all the monuments. Great breakfast and good rooms. Cleaning staff needs to communicate in better english. Rest is all good."

"A very child-friendly hotel, including half board. The kids had a great time, and so did the adults! Will stay again."
The Nuance Sky Apartment Citadella & City View
"1. The landlord was very polite and enthusiastically explained the room's facilities to us. 2. Located in front of a subway and tram stop, it's very convenient to get around. 3. Opposite the guesthouse are a traditional market and a large supermarket, making it easy to buy groceries and cook back at the guesthouse."
Duna Garden Hotel
"Horrible service. They gave us the wrong room, barely spoke english and the night receptionist where sleeping during her shift. The breakfast bufe was poor and tasteless. The food in the main resturant was not worth the money. Would not recommend at all"
Petneházy Aparthotel
"It's about a 30-minute drive from the city center and about an hour from the airport. We booked a sauna room, which was available, and there's also a heated swimming pool. The breakfast was rather limited, mostly Western-style cold dishes, but it'll do. Overall, the environment is nice, and the price is reasonable. The sofa in the living room can be converted into a bed, accommodating up to four people."
Hotel Veritas
"When we arrived, everything seemed fine at first. Check-in was smooth, and we received our key cards without any issues. But the disappointment came quickly once we entered the room. The space was extremely narrow, with three beds crammed in, and there was a large hole in the ceiling panel. The duvets were also visibly dirty, which didn’t help the first impression. We told ourselves, "We're only sleeping here, so let’s just make it work." We tried connecting to the WiFi, but there was no signal in the room. One of us had to go down to reception just to get a basic connection to check if it was even functioning. The minibar didn’t work, and neither did the TV. At that point, we started looking for alternative hotels. Instead, I spoke to reception and requested another room. To their credit, they came up, inspected the situation, and agreed that the room was not acceptable. We were moved to a new room where the fridge and TV worked — but unfortunately, the WiFi was still basically unusable. I was unable to work from the room at all and had to sit in the lobby to get anything done. Breakfast was okay, but not quite what we had expected. Overall, while the staff was helpful and did their best to resolve the issues, the condition of the first room and the lack of basic amenities made this a disappointing stay."
Vignette Collection VERNO HOUSE BUDAPEST by IHG
"Everything is excellent! Strongly recommend."
Hilton Budapest
"“Danube River View”? What a joke. The “view” was completely blocked by a tree — you could barely see anything. Selling this as a river view room is simply misleading. Water pressure was terrible, and the hot water was barely warm — in winter! A hotel that can’t even provide proper hot water shouldn’t be charging premium rates. Then we were told to pay €40 extra for a castle view. I didn’t ask for a castle view — I just wanted the river view I already paid for. Totally not worth it. Will not return."
Corinthia Budapest

"We had an absolutely incredible experience during our stay. Best was the swimming pool area. The surroundings were stunning, with breathtaking scenery that left us in awe. Every aspect of the resort was meticulously organized, creating a seamless experience from check-in to check-out. We especially enjoyed the expansive pool area, which was perfect for relaxing and soaking up the sun. Thank you for welcoming us so warmly; it truly made our visit unforgettable!"
Danubius Hotel Helia
"Very nice stay, will definitely be back."
Danubius Hotel Arena
"The service here is truly outstanding. The reception team is professional, efficient, and always welcoming. Everything was handled smoothly and quickly, which is especially important when traveling for business. The breakfast is excellent, high quality, fresh, and with a very good variety. Even during busy hours, everything is well organized and constantly refilled. The staff works very professionally and maintains a pleasant atmosphere. The location is one of the biggest advantages of this hotel. The metro station is just a one-minute walk away, with a direct connection to the city center in about 8–10 minutes. The Arena shopping mall is also very close, so you have everything you need within walking distance, restaurants, shops, and services. Overall, it’s a very convenient and comfortable hotel for business travel. I was very satisfied with my stay and will definitely return again."

Best Time to Travel to Budapest
Rich history, beautiful parks, stunning architecture, underground bars, and centuries-old thermal baths — all this and much is what makes up Budapest, the capital of Hungary. Budapest is made up of two cities bisected by the Danube river — Buda on the west side is hilly, while Pest (pronounced “pesht”) on the east is flat. The cities were merged in the 19th century, with the resulting city almost being named Pestbuda. There was a third city — Óbuda — that was merged with the others in 1873. The 19th-century Chain Bridge was the first stone-bridge connecting Buda and Pest. The historical separation also gave Buda and Pest have distinct identities. Buda is home to grand residential areas and Buda Castle, whereas Pest is a favourite among party people and is known for its ruin bars. The best times to visit Budapest are spring or autumn — March to May or September to November, respectively. Apart from the pleasant weather, the city isn’t overcrowded and, therefore, prices are within budget. Though the summer months — June to August — see a lot of tourists, the heat and excessive crowd may make for an uncomfortable trip. During the winter months there are barely any tourists because the weather is very chilly and public most attractions are shut.
Airport in Budapest
Budapest Ferenc Liszt International Airport, also known as Ferihegy, is the main international airport serving Budapest. It is also the largest of Hungary’s four commercial airports. Located around 15 from the city centre, the airport has two passenger terminals — Terminal 2A handles flights within Schengen area and Terminal 2B serves flights to non-Schengen destinations. The airport is equipped with services such as restaurants and cafés, duty free shops, ATMs, currency exchange and tourist information counters. For getting to Budapest from Budapest Ferenc Liszt International Airport, you can take a taxi, bus or rent a car. A taxi ride costs around £27. If you don’t want to hire a taxi, you can take a bus. Board the 100E Airport Bus. A ticket costs £2.5. There is also a 24/7 bus service, 200E, whose ticket costs around £1. However, it takes longer than 100E to reach the city centre. Your other option could be to rent a car from the numerous rental agencies at Terminal 2B.
Transportation in Budapest
You can discover Budapest by walking, as most tourist sites, restaurants, bars, and thermal baths are within walking distance of each other. If you like biking, you can rent a BuBi bike from over 140 docking stations across the city. Tickets range from £1.3, £2.6 and £5, depending on the number of days you are hiring the bike for. You will be charged a refundable security deposit of £62 that will be returned to you after your ticket expires. To easily get around the city, you can also use Lime electric scooters. The cost consists of a base charge of £0.9. Since Budapest has a good public transportation system, you can opt for buses, trolleys, and trams. If you are over 65 years and from an EU country, all public transport in Budapest is free for you. For others, the fare is £0.9. For directions, rely on Google Maps or download the BKK FUTÁR app, operated by the Center for Budapest Transport. There are also four subway lines in the city that connect most of the tourist attractions. To freely move around, buy a Budapest Card, which can be used for unlimited travel, entry to museums, walking tours, and discounts at baths, restaurants etc.
How to get to Budapest
There are daily flights to Budapest Ferihegy International Airport from major cities of the world. It’s connected to other cities in Europe, Middle East, Africa and international cities such as Cairo, Beijing, Düsseldorf, Paris, Vienna, Munich, Doha, Zürich, Dubai, London etc. The major airlines that serve the airport are British Airways, easyJet, Norwegian Air Shuttle, Qatar Airways, Ryanair and Wizz Air. From London, taking a flight is the best way to reach Budapest. The flight takes about five-and-half hours and the ticket price varies between £54 and £180. You can also take a train, for which you would have to shell out around £190. You can also take a bus. The journey takes around 30 hours and the fare would be in the range of £70. Even from other European cities, you can get to Budapest by bus or train.
