Atlantis Inn Castelgandolfo

Castel Gandolfo|0.17km from Pontifical Villas of Castel Gandolfo
I stayed 4 nights in the Raffaello suite with my family. The hotel is beautiful, in the super central area in the historic centre of Castel Gandolfo. The suite is located on 2 floors with a fabulous terrace on the lake Alban, a large bathroom with well 2 showers, a huge TV and comfortable beds. We were very well, except for some things that do not give me the maximum vote: a time relating to a kind of constant noise, day and night, which was felt from the room. I don't know whether it was generated from the heating plant or what, it is that every 2-3 minutes started a sound that lasts about 5 seconds to stop and repartite in loop. For me, who have very light sleep, it was always a problem to sleep, not for my wife and daughter; the second thing, and here we all agreed: breakfast. A so beautiful, so classy place, I do not think it can afford breakfast to the baret at the corner of the country where at 9.30 there was a third of the stuff because “and pasta acrema if and I already have magnified the arthritis.” I think it is a little ridiculous to choose between a empty pasta, a crustacean, and if a salad cake is well, and the good thing was also good, and it is not that you would have a pharaoh buffet, but not a so riddle thing. Sorry because breakfast is important, especially for children. However, apart from the place is wonderful, certainly if you have the car needs some luck with the parking..

Hotel la Culla Del Lago

Castel Gandolfo|2.27km from Pontifical Villas of Castel Gandolfo
Tatty, grubby common areas with dirty carpets and peeling wallpaper. The path down to the lake is too overgrown to get down there. Entrance is through a disused bar then some little rooms with mismatched old furniture to a small lobby area. Man behind the desk seemed surprised to see guests and gave us a key with no explanation as to where the room was or any other information. Room was spacious and clean but very old fashioned - we had a view of the lake which we had to pay 20 euros extra for on top of the 120 euro room rate which was way too high for the standard - it was the most expensive overnight stop of our 5 week tour and was the worst. Small flat pillow each and poor sound insulation which meant we were kept awake until 330 am by an elderly resident's radio. The restaurant was the best part of the stay - it is in a glass area overlooking the lake and is modern and contemporary. The food was amazing - really high standard but was spoilt by the total lack of ambience as we were the only ones dining apart from 2 elderly residents who stayed for a short time. Also the service was glacial. We were the first people in the restaurant and it took 75 mins for our first course and another hour for the other two courses. It is a shame that such a talented chef is working somewhere where he cannot be appreciated. This place could be amazing with its proximity to Rome, its food and position.

Hotel Castel Vecchio

The hotel is very beautiful and elegant; it is located in Castel Gandolfo and enjoys a great view of the lake Albano, so it is very quiet. The rooms are large and comfortable; even if they have some details to review. Breakfast is absolutely high; it has a wide range of high quality sweet and salty products. The staff is friendly and available. Parking is very comfortable. The hotel is excellent because it is a few minutes' walk from the centre of Castel Gandolfo.
