Sheraton Grand at Wild Horse Pass

Chandler
Was here in mid-May (2022) for a business conference and was instantly impressed by the location and landscape of the property. Beautiful exterior and interior design and multiple efforts to pay homage to the Native American culture throughout the property. Exercise room was on par with what one would expect in a gym. Free weights, benches, cardio equipment, towels and water, and a very nice space. Medium-sized but plenty large enough to accommodate the usual number of guests who may use a gym. Valet staff was friendly and super-attentive including asking virtually every passerby if they wanted a complimentary bottle of cold water (which was especially nice since the temp on that day was high-90s). And front desk staff and hotel staff worked amazingly efficiently to locate and return a hotspot device that my traveling mate had left in the room before checkout. A few items to improve upon: there was a used prescription pill bottle under the bathroom sink and a broken screen door leading out to the balcony. And an observation: the room I was in was not truly designed for the business traveler as the electrical outlets were in some odd places and the chairs in the room were far too low to be comfortable for someone working at a desk. And there was no desk in the room; just a small circular table which was really not conducive to work productivity. But all in all it is an amazing place to stay and the pool and courtyard areas are awesome. I loved the plush couches on the backside of the property and there is even a small grassy area which could be used for a wedding ceremony. Wish I had the time to play the golf course and see even more natural beauty. Definitely a place to visit.

We stayed at he hotel on February 17. It is a newer property and the hotel is very clean. The rooms are also very clean and new. However, there are some design concerns with the rooms. Let's start with the bathroom door, which is a glass barn door. If you use the bathroom in the middle of the night, expect the glass door to fully illuminate the entire room. That is not great for anyone still sleeping. You never see a barn door that does not have a big gap on one end or the other, and this one is no exception. There is also no lighting to use which provides a dim light to navigate the room at night. Every light is bright! The low level single mattress (no box springs) millennial hipster beds were comfortable. The room was well decorated. We tried to have cocktails at the bar after dinner and the hotel needs to beef up the staffing there. The bartender was polite but stressed. She told me they did not have a wine and cocktail list. I found that very odd given this was a bar. She instead handed us an abbreviated meal menu with a handful of cocktail selections?? Now here is where the bar scene went south. The bartender put four bottles of wine on the counter and stated they were all $76. One of the selections was Merf Cab....which we have purchased in the grocery store for around $13.99. I refused to be financially stabbed with a price of $76. So we drove to a nearby Walgreens and bought a bottle of 19 Crimes for $17. We returned to the hotel and drank the wine in the ”M Club”, which is a nice area that you can pay to access when you book your room. The M Club is significantly more private and peaceful....AND I saved close to $60 on wine. The M Club also has a free hot breakfast in the morning. Overall this hotel is clean and has a good layout. The staff is polite and efficient. The property offers a nice option that is away from the hustle and bustle of Phoenix proper. I would recommend the property if take the above considerations under advisement.

As a perennial Choice Privileges Platinum/Diamond member who has stayed hundreds of nights in various Choice hotels, this was my first experience in a Cambria Hotel, and these are my impressions of our 2-night stay. The price per night was higher than the Comfort Inns and Comfort Suites that we normally stay at, so was the higher price worth it? There are pros and cons. The hotel itself is clean, classy, and impressive, with a large lobby, bar, and restaurant. The rooms are nicely furnished, with modern platform beds, microwave, mini-fridge, sofa, large desk, Keurig coffeemaker, large-screen TV, and a nice little table on wheels that is great for a laptop computer. The staff was exceptionally friendly and accommodating, especially Candace at the front desk and Randy in Housekeeping. Coffee in the lobby is complimentary; however, breakfast is not free and the choice is very limited. Dinner is also available, but the menu is also very limited. The lobby bar also serves as the breakfast counter, although there are dining tables available as well. Snacks and other items are available for purchase in the lobby. The hotel itself is located at the corner of a large, busy intersection at the entrance to a big shopping mall. While there are tons of stores and restaurants within walking distance, our 3rd floor room overlooked the intersection, and it was quite noisy. The pool area is very nice; however, it is directly adjacent to the intersection and also very noisy. There were a few minor maintenance issues in our room… the recessed ceiling light above the coffeemaker didn’t work, and the access door to the microwave and mini-fridge didn’t close properly. The glass desk surface is not compatible with an optical computer mouse unless a sheet of paper or other material is placed on the surface. The backlit bathroom mirror is very impressive; however, the lighting is not quite adequate for makeup or shaving. The large-screen TV is mounted right over the desk, and it is difficult to work at the desk if someone else is watching TV with the volume turned up, since your head is about a foot from the TV and the speakers. In the bathroom, the toilet paper holder is mounted in an awkward location, and the sliding shower door appears to have been installed incorrectly, so that if the shower head is directed on the shower glass, the water will be funneled onto the bathroom floor. The wi-fi internet speed is among the fastest I have ever experienced in a hotel… about 100Mbps/second download and upload speeds. There is some very cool accent lighting in the rooms, but the platform beds have wooden corners that are easy to bump your shins on if you are not careful. Overall, this is a more upscale hotel in a convenient location with a great staff, but it does have a few quirks and inconveniences. Was it worth paying 40% or 50% more than at Comfort Suites? It may be for some, but probably not for us.

Hilton Phoenix Chandler

Hilton Phoenix Chandler

Usually I don't write reviews, but this experience as Hilton Diamond Reward member almost left me sleeping in the car. I was moved from Doubletree Hilton hotel due to water issues, on night 1of3 of my stay. Since Doubletree was not successful to secure another Hilton hotel for me, I was advised and proceeded to call Hilton hot line and get the hotel through Customer service line. Over 40 min on the phone and I was put in to Hilton Phoenix Chandler. As I was advised by Doubletree Manager, my rate would stay the same as I was to pay $160 per night and would be awarded points for my inconvenience. Customer service has discussed over my personal phone details with Doubletree Manager, before I left. Points were awarded right for my inconvenience. Hilton Chandler had my reservation ready and I was able to get in to the room close to 10pm. In the morning I noticed that an email came in that all my awarded points were used for 1st night at Hilton Chandler and also my CC is to be charged an additional $130 on top. Stop by at front desk around 7AM next morning and explained all the situation as mentioned above. Was told that the manager would come in and check all and get back to me. Back in the hotel around 4:30PM and noticed a VM left on the room number (not my personal phone, but a room phone) Called back to manager that left me a VM and she called right back. Manager of Hilton Phoenix Chandler advised me that room charge is to be $220 and they will not be matching Doubletree as was promised to me by Doubletree and Hot Line CR that booked this hotel. I asked manager to call in to Doubletree so we can discuss further and was advised that she is leaving in about 15min and that the rate is to be at $220 per night for next 2 night (was to be $160 as was Doubletree original rate) At that time I tried unsuccessfully reaching out to Doubletree manager. I told Hilton manager that I will not be paying $220 as that is not right and was basically told to vacate the room. I packed up and left Hilton Phoenix Chandler Hotel, manager did not even come out or already left by around 5:15PM as I was leaving the hotel. No apology or any words from front desk just a simple BYE BYE. This manager more concerned about her leaving on time, then taking care of basic duties as following up on hotel issues. As a Hilton Diamond Reward member with travels on weekly bases and spending 3-4nights a week in different hotels throughout US, this experience definitely sticks out and deserves a Negative review. Manager never reached out back or any other apology was given and will definitely is being reported to Hilton Hot Line for an investigation in to this issue. Lost Points Lost work hours Almost slept in the car. I ended up staying at Marriott for the next few night, which is just ok. Issue cost me over 4 hours of lost work time, and that is just mind blowing!!! I would Highly recommend NOT to stay at Hilton Phoenix Chandler due to Management Ignorance. I would Hi

I have visited this hotel before, and little has changed. Service was good, but not stellar. The breakfast bar was not proactive replacing omelets as the chafing dish emptied, but more arrived within ten or fifteen minutes. Some staff wore, while others eschewed masks. In the room, there is a padded bench at the foot of the bed whose padding was visibly relaxed. The heavy bed cover was good to combat a thermostat set to 76 degrees when first going to sleep, but proved too heavy after the bed warmed. I am an Arizona boy, so your results may differ. I set the AC to 82 degrees - the setting I use at home, and the next night's sleep under just the sheet was solid. Television is kind of bland, but not overly so. There seemed to be pay options, but I did not partake. Wireless served the room adequately. There was a small coffee maker with those coffee-filled paper filter pillows about the size of a silver dollar; two caffeinated, and two regular with cellophane packets containing creamer, sugar, a stir stick, fake sugar, and a napkin. Several paper coffee cups with separate cardboard sleeves for serving were in the coffee basket, which also held travel lids. The big elegant shower took a while to heat; not unexpected. Plenty of towels were there, along with a rubber shower mat and bath mat. The countertop held shampoo, conditioner, mouthwash, lotion, a shower cap, and a sachet with cotton swabs (I think). Bar soap was boxed beside the sink, with no backup bar. The towels are not within easy reach from the shower, so remember to position a bath towel in advance or at least put down the terrycloth bath mat before you step in. The room was neat, clean, and tidy. The second day, I posted the Do Not Disturb sign in the morning. Taking it down as I left meant the room was not cleaned, or supplies refreshed. I did not check to see if I had to ask for the room to be serviced. There is a closet with hangers, ironing board, iron, and a luggage frame. The window had blackout curtains, but if you don't wake with the sun, make sure you get a tight closure. Regardless, some light did seep in under the blackout curtain. I didn't try out any other amenities. The room served its purpose. To improve, let's begin considering that some of us are night owls, who are discomfited when compelled to wake before the crack of noon in order to take advantage of a breakfast we are compelled to subsidize. Figure out the calculus of providing a 24-hour continental breakfast, and you're going to grow quite the loyal following.

I paid for breakfast, but I ended up making coffee for breakfast. The room that didn't have breakfast was also used as a utility room, and my name was taped on. It feels bad. The sanitary conditions are also relatively poor. Some rooms are under renovation.

within Walking distance to many local stores, restaurants... we didn't hardly use our rental Car. This place was nice, a bit older, but has a lot of historic characteristics. Built in 1913, it used to be the San Marcos Hotel and has some haunted history, pretty interesting read. We will stay again. Downtown Chandler was really clean. You're minutes from the 101 Interstate & the 202. If i had to critique one thing: rooms facing the Pool can be a bit louder if there's a lot of people having fun in the water.

I am titanium lifetime elite with marriott. Over 2000 nights with marriott. US, CANADA AND HAWAII. Checked in 5 pm dec 24. Two ladies at front desk rude and combative. We asked for room near elevator facing front of property. Was assigned a room that is the last one on the floor farthest from elevator facing back of property. We refused the room...finally given room by elevator ..room 302. After a near shouting match. A ordeal to get fresh towels...no housekeeping for the 4 nite stay. Breakfast poor selections. Property not that clean ... When we left and returned over 4 days, nobody was At the front desk...security is lax ...anyone can come and go. You can do better elsewhere. Stay somewhere else. I would rate the hotel a 3 out of 10 ( 10 being the Best) 4 year old property not being maintained. No general manager on duty during the 4 days. Bob t Houston, texas
