The island is private and quiet, and there is a turndown service every night. The hotel has sea activities every day, which will be staggered with the island hopping tours outside. There are relatively few people at several attractions. There are snorkeling beaches, fish feeding caves, boating, and three meals are included. At the buffet, the Filipino island hopping guy is also very enthusiastic and will help you take photos. Winter is the peak season in the Philippines, so the price will be more expensive. It would be more perfect if there is a bathtub.
We loved our stay at Seda Lio! The staff were hospitable and accommodating especially with our requests since I have a special needs son. It has a clean environment and easily accessible to the airport. Seda Lio has a serene and relaxing environment. It has restaurants near the area too. I would highly recommend this hotel.
The hotel is located behind the Town Square and in front of the beach. You can walk to the Canopy Walk tourist spot to see the beautiful Island from the top hop on a tricycle or rent a motorbike outside the resort to explore the island.
There was a good selection for breakfast and it was slightly different every day.
We had a deluxe room with a terrace and pool access. ( see my photos below)
The staff was welcoming and friendly.
We enjoyed our stay and would recommend this place.

The resort is very beautiful. The panoramic pool from the cliff has amazing views! We had a nice view too, from our room (Deluxe). The room was spacious and beautiful, with high tech fancy light switches. Automatic curtains with switch.
The food at the restaurant was nice.
Something unexpected was, the pillow case had holes and yellow marks, when we said to the staff about it, the lady was surprised of why this is even a problem... Anyway they changed it for us... the pool towels were very tired and with marks too.
There is not attention to detail, the maintenance of the resort is of a very low standards, a quick half repainting of the walls ( I am saying this as a professional in renovations).
Anyway, overall we had a nice stay.
The place is amazing - intimate with a lot of character. Perfect for couples. We got upgraded to a better room which was beautiful and spacious (they mentioned we’re the first ones to use that room). Since the room was new, the staffs weren’t familiar of the room number/name, and we needed to keep on reminding them for make up room and change the towels, else they would forget to do it. The food was amazing too! Just wish they included coffee/tea/juice in their breakfast package.
Meanwhile, there is one amazing staff called Joe. He always has a smile on his face and goes an extra mile to remember all the guests’ names, and make sure the guests are happy and comfortable.
Nice hotel. Clean and a good location from El Nido beach. Some good bars and restaurants nearby. It is a little noisy at night, but ok. The breakfast is ok. Nothing special. We thought the omelette had no taste. But a decent stay. Vanilla Beach is lovely and 10 mins drive away. Tour A boat trip is incredible.Ps, a huge issue in El Nido is ATMs. They always run out or do not accept cards. Please be prepared. A few places accept credit cards, so save your money if you are running out.

Room facilities are a bit poor, but El Nido's conditions are here, there is no way to choose. El Nido's play can completely ignore the problem of the hotel, it is a budget hotel ~.

Outstanding
SSun GlobalThe best facility you could have in El Nido - budget or premium. Everything is so well planned and designed. There is not a single point you could complain about. Let’s go one by one
1. Location - right in heart of El nido township. 450 meter or 6 minutes walk to El nido beach where tours begin
2. Pricing - facility provides best available features but pricing is very economical. I was born an Indian. I understand the value for money, this place is what best describes it
3. Staff - they are very courteous and welcoming.
4. Cleanliness - this facility started in 2024 I think. Everything is new and so well maintained
Sheets are super clean , so are washrooms and all other places
5. Comes my favourite part - facilities and layout - this hotel has everything you would need. Now if you expect Casinos or shopping malls within a hotel - please don’t come to El nido , you are better off in a tier 1 city anywhere in the world.
This hotel provides free breakfast. I booked @ 22.5 CAD a night. If you book early , you could get a dorm for 15 CAD or 11 USD or whatever currency you use - please convert. I could not get it for my first night as only female dorm was available by the time I booked. I booked my first night at One hostel. One hostel is ok, price is super cheap @ 500 php for a mixed dorm but is no where compared to Spin.
What Spin offers - free breakfast, there is a free laundry, washing machines - do your laundry here , just get your own detergent , swimming pool - beautiful layout of hotel , a in-house full sized bar with staff - don’t need to go out for a drink at all, one complimentary mock tail voucher upon your arrival ( I got it when I arrived , rules may change with times ) , there is in-house ATM by the bar ( this is the most importantly feature - I have a night limit credit card and I don’t feel comfortable using it in unknown places especially in Asia and compromising it. You are secure to use a ATM which is in your hotel ), there is a designer space for hanging out just besides reception, a beautiful and spacious cafeteria. You can book your tours , hire a bike and book your return to Puerto Princesa from reception. They just note down you name and you pay directly to their partner. The rates are standard and fixed rates of market. They have game nights like beer pong when I arrived, check the short video.
The layout of this place is so so good that I wish I could stay here yearlong. Everything is where it should be - it’s indeed a designer hotel. There is a faucet outside hotel to wash your feet - they do get sandy when you arrive from beach- everyone in El nido is a bag packer and wears sleepers when going out. The dorms are so spacious. The lockers are so big for every bunk bed , there is curtain for your bunk bed - full 360 degree of privacy , shared washrooms are big and toilet and shower areas are completely different - you will feel so clean during and after taking a bath as there is no possibility of a urea smell. The sockets in your bunk are so ideally positioned, big mirrors available in washroom and your own room.
What it doesn’t have - only a shuttle to the moon I believe
Now I did mention I had to book one hostel for my first night of stay. But I visited SPIN upon my arrival , checked out the facility and asked them to book me a tour as I would transfer here next day anyway. When I arrived here early at 7.30 am next morning, the receptionist gave me free breakfast. ( due to be noted that I had not stayed here the last night and that this was way out of the way for early checkin)
10 out of 5 stars for giving me the unexpected and unimaginable at such a great price. I have an option to go for Coron on last day of my stay but I will rather stay here not to loose my one night stay opportunity. Coron can wait , I won’t waste my SPIN night
GGuest UserThis place went above and beyond for my family when we stayed at El Nido - The Funny Lion (June 26 - July 3). The staff are very friendly and professional. Their Customer service is 10/10. When you ask for something, they give it right away. The Manager was really kind and helpful especially to my 2 yr old daughter, Valerie. I am thankful and grateful for the team at El Nido - The Funny Lion.
There are a few suggestions for improvements I would like to add: Better drainage system for shower. It always seems like the water would go out of the shower especially when it’s raining outside. Also, an elevator would be great for the guest and especially for the staff when carrying heavy luggages. The wifi spotty and could also be improved especially inside the breakfast area. A better mosquito control on the outside near the pool/restaurant area would be nice too. The people on the backyard would burn their trashes and the smoke would fill the whole air of the hotel area and would not be healthy to breathe in (I wish they wouldn’t burn right next to the hotel). This is probably nitpicking but sometimes the music that plays at the bar/restaurant area is not family friendly and uses profanity. The rooms could use a bit of feng shui or something to make it feel more spacious. The room lighting could also be improved (it always seems a little dark even with all the lights turned on).
GGuest UserAn excellent hotel in the heart of El Nido town proper. It is in a chaotic area but the hotel itself is well managed and calm once you get off the street! On reflection I probably would have stayed further out of the town but that's not a comment on the hotel itself.
The hotel breakfast is great, even if you're not vegetarian or vegan which I'm not. The rooms are a good size, not to small and had balconies which is good for drying clothes.
Reception and all the staff are lovely but I'm marking down the hotel slightly due to communication. When we got to the hotel by public tricycle they seemed surprised I hadn't gone with their free hotel transfer yet I couldn't see this option anywhere on trip when booking and they hadn't attempted to contact me. Perhaps that could be improved. On the communication front it seems they have some perks which they don't advertise at all. I discovered when visiting the Heiroglyph gym by vanilla beach that access is free if you're staying at H Hotel which is a superb perk but they don't advertise it at all! Apparently they also have a sister hotel near nacpan Beach where you can use the pool.
Overall it's a very good hotel. I think it's a bit expensive but then again hotels in Philippines are generally overpriced so in that sense the price is fine.
GGuest UserThe resort is in a great location with a small but quiet beach and a nice house reef outside. Beware that some units require walking up a lot of steps and the ones set away from the beach have a lot of mosquitoes around.
The staff are super friendly and nice although the service of the hotel could be more attentive i.e when lying on the beach you don’t get asked if you want drinks. Room cleaning was only done once in our 7 day stay and only because we asked for it. Towels are not automatically offered to beach goers all the time.
The restaurant is pretty slow with almost an hour for food to arrive sometimes. The food itself can be nice depending on what you order. Some is pretty good actually…others a bit average.
Pricewise, this isn’t a cheap hotel and I feel that if you compare the price to resorts in other tropical beach locations around the world, you get much better service in other places like Sheratons, Marriotts and Hiltons etc. that said, overall I would still recommend Matinloc for the great beach and reef.
GGuest UserEverything was really nice in this hotel. I love it. The hotel is on the beach and it has really great view. The stuff is really friendly and kind. All the people here are totally polite. The supervisor of this hotel is Gorgeous woman she helped us several times and you can see that she’s almost involved in the everyday life of the guests. Well, we have the problem with the Wi-Fi, she didn’t just said they cannot do anything. She gave us another room with a good Wi-Fi that was more expensive, but they didn’t take any money from us. I strongly recommend this place to anybody who wanna live in the heaven with a great facilities.
GGuest UserThe place looks exactly as advertised. Clean room, beddings, lobby and dining area. Breakfast is good too. Rooms are cleaned , organized daily with bottled water replenished daily. There's a water dispenser at the hallway & lobby. Also there are free massage chairs, which is a plus .
Staff are very helpful always wearing a smile.
Highly recommend One El Nido Suite.
GGuest UserThis is a bit of a special place. The hotel is right at its own private beach. It‘s very isolated from everything else which can be nice if you don‘t want to leave the hotel at all. We wanted to go to the town some evenings and that is a bit of a challenge. You first have to take a golf car (which only runs until 10pm) and then change into a tricycle. The tricycles won‘t go directly to the hotel because the last bit of the road is too steep and winded. The other option is to walk along the beach for 20 minutes instead of using the golf car for the last bit, which we did a couple of times. It‘s not too dangerous but there are stray dogs.
The food in the hotel restaurant was Italian and just ok, nothing amazing. The service was not great. Two women seem to know how to run a hotel but the rest of the staff were rather useless. They often seemed annoyed, even when we were just ordering food. We once asked about the zipline that is literally next door and they didn‘t know anything about it (price, time, how to get there). They organised a tour for us, which was great, but messed up the booking somehow so the tour guide thought we were only two people instead of four, which resulted in less food for lunch. And then they even charged us more for the tour.
Our room was fine. Clean and no bugs. Yes, you can hear everything but we didn‘t mind that. The room was only made up on request though.
The whole area is beautiful but there were a few things that annoyed us. So I wouldn‘t come back.
IIrina UshakovaI really liked this place. The location is close to the port and the beach, but not noisy.
The hostess offers a wonderful breakfast.
There is always cold and hot drinking water.
The garden is quite cozy, lots of greenery.
The room is clean and nice, comfortable bed.
Nice place)
GGuest UserThe premises are not suitable for living. There is no ventilation in the room, it is constantly damp and this causes an unpleasant smell and stuffiness. The fan is not working. Water with a good smell comes out of the tap. But if you still decide to choose this place, then be prepared for the fact that you will be staying with cockroaches. These are huge, nasty cockroaches. And the hotel administration is very pleasant, this is perhaps the only plus of the hotel.
GGuest UserSmall rooms, next to a party street. The size, service and even the location are not worth the money, to be honest. But at that moment there were no options, no choice. All the ports were closed, and the hotels were sold out and there was nowhere to go. We took it for one night.
