Mercure accommodation in Cologne

As soon as I arrived at the hotel, I was impressed by the warm hospitality of the staff. The room was wider and cleaner than the photos, and the bedding was soft and I was able to get a good night's sleep. The breakfast was varied and fresh, so I was satisfied every morning. Above all, the location was great, so I could walk to major tourist attractions and restaurants, which made my travel route very convenient. It was a satisfactory stay that I would like to visit again next time.

Strategic location next to subway station. Clean and spacious room for 2 pax. Walkable distance to Cologne Cathedral and attractions in Cologne. Recommend for first time traveller.

Struggled to get through to the hotel as the phone number on the app used to make booking was in correct. The hotel is easy to find and transport links from the airport I give a 10/10 plus connection to the city was super easy. Upon arrival, the service desk staff were pleasant and apologised. Finally checked in and the room was clean and well done. However, my room was facing the major road and extremely noisy during the entire stay as the road is a busy one.  Ordered a late dinner and disappointed with my under done beef patty, the bun it came with required an electric knife to get through. I did complain and an apology was given.  Now, the hotel room doors bang whenever they’re being closed and made my stay unbearable. Something definitely needs to be done as I was put off!! Before retiring to bed, I hung the notice to not be disturbed..alas! the following morning after breakfast I just wanted to have a quiet time but I was rudely interrupted, disturbed coupled with the loud doors as the cleaners went about their inspections 2 x in a space of 10 minutes.  I would have loved to stay here on future visits but it’s a NO!!  The breakfast was lovely, sauna and swimming pool facilities too. I did not use the gym. Otherwise it’s in a good safe location.

There is air conditioning in Germany, which is very life-saving in the hot summer... The front desk is very good, the facilities are not dragging four stars. The location is very good, the city center is convenient, and the surrounding supermarkets are all available. Five-star recommendation, I don't know why Google score is so low... The front desk is very polite
