We had 5 rooms during Orgatec Exhibition. Hotel was new, employees were kind, breakfast was good and in general it was a clean hotel. It is not in city center but really easy to reach Rudofplatz or Heumarkt with 2 Tram Lines and it takes only 5 stops. Also there were some restaurant and supermarkets around for our needs. Therefore we enjoyed our stay in hotel. Only thing which was negative, you need to inform reception each morning for cleaning rooms. Otherwise it was not cleaned. (we are not informed about this during check-in so we learned that after first day) Despite we informed that for each day, second day of our stay 2/5 rooms are not cleaned. Except this, it was all well clean

Excellent location opposite the cathedral and very close to the main station. I had a single room on the top floor that had a balcony with an amazing view.
Only negatives were no tea or coffee making facilities in the room and the reception staff downstairs were not particularly smiley or welcoming. I hadn’t paid for breakfast in advance but they should still have mentioned it to me as an option when I checked in.

I’ve had a wonderful stay at the Rescidence Hotel. Staff was very friendly and kind, the room was clean and there was enoough space for 2 persons. The bed was a bit hard for my preference but we stayed for just two nights so it was ok. The location of the Hotel was perfect, between the bars/pubs and the centre. Allthough the busy environment, we were not bothered by noise. I would definitely visit this Hotel if i’m going back to Köln.

Stopped in May 2019. Considered Cologne as a point for basement. Hotel is not from cheap but very good rooms (only not to take the most budgetary). Comfortable bed. Good furniture. Not far from the cathedral. In foot shopping availability. Breakfast at 4. opposite (I think in the building new hotel) parking (2 level) for 4 days - 50 euros. But for some reason all the time the lift was barracked. All the time I had to call for support or go to the resepshne.

Had a wonderful 3-night stay at this lovely property. Located just a stone’s throw away from Köln Messe/Deutz station, which was very convenient for us who travelled directly from Frankfurt Airport. Its surrounding was peaceful and quiet. Checking-in by Clemens was a breeze. Clemens was friendly and answered all our queries with patience. He also gave us helpful information on dining options in the vicinity. Our courtyard facing Studio room was spacious and quiet, had every amenity we needed for a comfortable stay. We used the washer and dryer every night and it was definitely a great to have. USB charging ports and power points could be found on both sides of the bed and at sitting area. Internet speed was fast. Was able to screen mirroring with my device and hence we were able to enjoy watching Netflix on the big TV screen. Daily housekeeping had also done a wonderful job of keeping our room clean, replacing our used towels and replenishing the laundry detergent. There was a small indoor pool but we didn’t have the time to use it. Our room didn’t come with breakfast, but we did try it out on one morning. Found that it was a tad overpriced at €22 as the spread wasn’t big and choices were pretty limited, the only disappointment we had of this property. Overall a fantastic stay and is value for money. Would strongly recommend this property to anyone who is visiting Cologne.

Definitely one of the best hotels I've ever stayed in and the best hotel from Accor Hotels. I had accidentally booked the wrong dates for my stay. As soon as I realised it, I contacted the hotel. The staff helped me to change my reservation dates. While on my trip, due to the strikes in France and problems with the train connections I had to postpone my meeting online. I sent an email to request to check in early since I will be having my meeting at 1 p.m. Ms Wulff made the necessary arrangements prior to my arrival. On my arrival I was able to check in early and able to proceed with my online meeting. Without her help I would not be able to conduct my meeting. On the next day, I had another online meeting. Her colleague made the necessary arrangements so that the housekeeping team could get the room cleaned before lunch and my next online appointment. Till date I have stayed in a number of hotels from the Accor Hotels group. In comparison to M Gallery am Konzerthaus in Wien, Hotel Mondial am Dom in Cologne exceeds my expectations. Professionalism The staff at the reception were not only friendly and good at what they are doing, they are also willing to help and went an extra mile to make things possible. I would not have been able to get my work done if they did not help me. Even when checking out, the staff was professional and showed interest to assist customers whenever they dan. Splendid Location Situation a few minutes walk from the train station and the main city area, is this hotel definite one of the most strategic location in Cologne. View of the Cathedral I managed to get a glimpse of the cathedral from my room. Dinner I had dinner at the hotel restaurant. It was not only affordable, the service was impeccable. The waiter even suggested where I could sit so that I can get the best view of the area. Awesome! I would like to thank the remarkable staff for making my stay in Köln memorable und unforgettable. I would definitely be staying in this hotel again when I visit Cologne. This was my first time back since my military days and having travelled through Germany in the 3 years I was here, I haven’t changed my opinion that Cologne is the best city to visit. This time I was here for the FIBO fair and stayed at the Mercure for the first time. As expected it was first class and the hospitality of its staff was impeccable. The hotel is out to the west which means a 20-30 minute tram ride into the main area around the cathedral and river but once you master the payment system you will enjoy the experience, with the trams being on time throughout. The only criticism is that being a fitness person and witnessing others like me staying at the hotel, the gym was poor consisting of only 3 cardio machines in a tiny room. A small set of dumbbells would be a welcome addition and would have justified a 5 star instead of the 4 I have given. Otherwise well done to all the staff for a highly enjoyable stay. The check-in could be more swift and in a slightly more polite tone. The smallest room has plenty of space for one night, the bathroom could be more functional with more storage options, the shower is amazing. The unpleasant surprise came the next morning when breakfast was ”delivered”, which is to be taken literally as it handed out in a cartonage box. Inside were two sandwiches (ham and salami), one hard-boiled egg and fruits. If that's not to your taste - tough luck! Do not get me wrong: I can live with terrible breakfast, I am okay to (over)pay for good/halfway acceptable breakfast, but for 14€ I expect a level of choice that goes beyond vegan, vegetarian or normal. If you hope for that to have changed in the future, I also have to disappoint you: The receptionist was well-aware of the fact that this offer is a rip-off.
Bordering the Rhine River, Lindt Chocolate Museum and Cologne’s city center, the NH Köln Altstadt hotel, formerly known as NH Köln City, is a feast for all of the business or leisure traveler’s senses. Located in the heart of the energetic Rheinauhafen business district, the hotel’s prime location allows visitors to walk all over the Old Town to top local sites including Cologne Cathedral, Kölner Philharmonie, the Roman-German Museum and Köln Messe exhibition center. A short walk to several tram centers including Severinstrasse, Ubierring and Köln Heumarkt stations link travelers to the greater Cologne area. Built in 2002, the NH Köln Altstadt has 204 spacious, plush, modern rooms, many with views of the Rhine or Cologne Cathedral. Guests can seek additional refreshment in the ample spa facility, which includes a sauna, steam bath and relaxation room. For dining options, enjoy the breakfast buffet or a meal at Mediterraneo Restaurant, featuring Italian, French and Spanish cuisine. Guests can converse and unwind on one of our two terraces: an intimate courtyard or another adjacent to the stylish Unico Bar. The hotel also offers eight meeting spaces and can host events for up to 220 people or 180 wedding reception guests.

There was no air conditioning (AC) even though the hotel advertised as having it. Their excuses was that it was too cool at night to operate the AC for the hotel even though it was actually very warm outside. Translation: the entire hotel is either on heat or AC, they are too frugal to allow use of the advertised AC, or their system is outdated and does not actually work properly. Very hot and stuff room. The odd thing was is that the hotel lobby seemed to have AC. The hallways and room were uncomfortably hot. Upon checking in there was only a little bit of toilet paper was left on the roll. Fortunately there was an extra roll provided. Only a few sheets of Kleenex were in the box. Also, the hand soap dispenser was nearly empty. It seems not much care is given to the rooms between guests. On our last day the housekeeper knocks on the door early in the morning even tough the “do not disturb” sign was hung on the door. It was a basic room with furnishings that included a desk, a small round table, 2 small nightstands, a desk chair, and one sitting chair. There was no usable refrigerator, just a mini bar. The was only one suitcase rack situated in the closet. We had to use the sitting chair for our other suitcase. The beds were not too comfortable. Also the pillow case did not completely cover the pillow, so your head might rest upon the exposed portion of the pillow where the lasts hundreds of guest placed their heads. Bathroom was OK but a bit smelly. The shower had low water pressure. Some water will leak out under the shower door to the floor. Stepping over the high tub with a slippery shower floor is a bit precarious. Internet speed was 3.81 Mbps in both upload and download, with 8 ms latency. The location is near the chocolate museum and a good pizza and pasta restaurant is nearby. The cathedral is less than a mile away. At almost 400 euros a night, it was very expensive for a poor experience. Perhaps HN stands for “Not Happy.”

GGuest UserThe Courtyard Marriott of Cologne was clean, beautiful and a great location. It was a short walk to the Central train Station and near all the sights of Cologne. I was only there for one night and did not get to experience the breakfast as we checked out before it was served, but they did provide me with a lunch box which included a ham and cheese sandwich, a banana and a water. There is coffee and boxed water 24 hours a day in the lobby. The beds were super comfortable and the temperature of the room was ideal, as we had control over the air conditioner, whereas other hotels we stayed in the same week, did not allow us control and we were very warm. The room we had was a nice size and the view was of the empty courtyard which was extrememly quiet and definitely highly desirable. Front staff upon checking in, was not friendly, however after check in everyone else we came in contact with was very friendly. I didn't get the ladies name at the front desk, but she definitely didn't give us a positive welcome. Glad her shift ended and everyone else we dealt with, and passed was extremely friendly and that is what the experience should be like.
GGuest UserWe had to check in very late (about 02:30), but that was not a problem at all. The service was very friendly and helpful. We had booked a room for 3 people over Booking.com that was unfortunately no longer available on site. We were fully unproblematic and without additional costs ”distributed” to two Comfort double rooms and received another drink from the house bar for free as an excuse. The rooms themselves are very well equipped and comfortable. The included breakfast was the “hammer” and very rich and varied. Of us absolutely recommended. A parking house is right next to and has not cost us anything.
GGuest UserThe (non-upgraded) room is relatively spacious, well designed and quiet. I'm glad I did not accept a higher cost upgrade option. It was great for a 4-day stay. There's a separate area for clothing and storage, and a small refrigerator. There was a wall of windows, good light and effective blackout curtains. The in-room coffee service is nice - I didn't find this in my other hotels. The breakfast buffet is worth the price, especially considering the quality, and that a single cup of coffee elsewhere can easily be 5 Euros. It's not a train station hotel (one mile away from the HBF and the Dom), but this hotel is in a very nice area, and is convenient to a great many dining and entertainment options for a Cologne tourist. It's not horrible to take the train here (with one connection) if you are reasonably mobile. Public transit options are many once you figure them out. The USB charging outlets are helpful -- and I did not find these in any other of my hotels. Overall, this chain is a significant step up from the likes of Ibis and Motel One. This hotel is very much worth the reasonable premium it charges. Desk staff was very friendly and helpful throughout my visit. I would happily return to this property.
GGuest UserWe stayed in the hotel as a family with 7 years old child without any problem. We didn't eat breakfast at the hotel so we have no idea about restaurant. Employees are kind and doing their best. Very good location. You can walk all the touristic places. We went to Cologne on December and it was cold. Whenever we felt cold, we turned to hotel for rest in 5-10 minutes. The best christmas market (Heumarkt) is near the hotel and you can use public transport in front of the hotel (if you need). Walk distance to the Dom Cathedral, Love Bridge, Chocolate Museum, Shildergrasse and all the christmas markets.

Excellent
GGuest UserThe room is a bit small, a hotel with a sense of design, suitable for young people or tourists, our business trip is a bit inappropriate. The bathroom is too small, and the price is very high during the exhibition. Fortunately, the transportation is convenient, and the city is within walking distance for eating and shopping. This is pretty good.
GGuest UserIn short; facilities did not live up to expectations and the price. Basically it felt like a fancy looking overpriced regular hotel . Wouldn't book again. ___Full honest review ___ * Our stay Booked a studio room at the hotel for two nights as a getaway weekend with my partner. * Spa was closed!!! :( I chose this hotel because it had a spa included, but when we got there the spa was closed due to water damage. I was quite disappointed, but didn't complain. * Misleading information, fixed easily The hotel then offered to upgrade us to a premium superior studio because I had asked for a bathtub in my booking. It had said on the website the studio I chosen had a bathtub or shower, that was wrong, none of them did. But they upgraded our room so we could have a bath and a shower, which was nice. * Aesthetics exceeded expectations The hotel looks very beautiful and luxurious, so did the premium superior studio room we had. It looks much better than the photos and isn't as dark as it looks (though it still is). The dining area and bar look very nice and have comfortable seating. However, I found the vibe at the bar a bit underwhelming compared to the inviting brauhouses and bars in the city, it had boring lounge music and is very mellow. If you like a more quiet space it's perfect. * Delicious cocktails, good but underwhelming breakfast The waitress at the bar was very nice and the cocktails were delicious. We didn't have dinner there but the food looked good too. However,, the breakfast buffet was rather small but had variety. A few salads, few fruits, fresh salmon, eggs, bacon, waffels and a limited array of breads. The food was quite good but I had expected a larger buffet with more options considering the price. * Rooms way too hot!!! No AC We noticed instantly that it was very warm in the room, when we checked the thermostat it was 23 degrees (oktober, 15-19 and raining outside). We tried to turn down the thermostat but it did not work. It stayed 23-24 degrees all night with the windows open, which was a uncomfortable night's sleep. The next day we asked the reception about it and they said they do not have AC but ”climate control”. The temperature could only be changed 3 degrees up or down. They send someone by to fix it for us, but it stayed 23-24 degrees for our entire stay. We believe it was broken. * Bed was so so The bed was fine but not the most comfortable. The warm room certainly didn't help. * Lacking guest items The studio room had the very bare minimum of guest items. There were no shower caps, sewing kits, lady items or little soaps. Instead they had large containers with soap to use by all guests untill empty, and a small kit with some cotton buds. That was it. There were no slippers or bathrobes. The kitchen was fully stocked with cooking utensils however, and there was a simply hairdryer. * Staff was nice, but a bit forgetful The staff was very friendly and helpful but also forgetful. We made use of the valley parking
GGuest UserJust an absolute great experience staying there easy to find from central station. The staff are very welcome in. Everything we requested before we arrived. Was there just the overall great day and a great great location. Definitely want to stay there again. Would recommend this to anybody.
GGuest UserBreakfast is not bad
The hotel is a bit old, but still clean
Convenient transportation
Parking is charged, it would be better if it was free
The hotel is large and the rooms are not small.
Overall OK
The reason for the location of this select hotel in an area devoid of personality, tourist attractions or facilities is totally unknown to me. And to get to the hotel, from Koln central station you have to change several means of transport. The price is really indecent for what it offers. He tries to stand out but fails miserably. For a 4-star hotel, the rooms are small, with limited equipment. There is no minibar or mini-fridge, no safe for valuables. Even a wardrobe for clothes is not provided, instead you will find a sheath in the wall with several hangers. And the concept of the bathroom is totally impractical: open bathroom in the room, with all the steam that spreads in the room, without towel holders. There is no possibility of heating the room, or at least it didn't work, given that the outside temperature during the night was close to freezing. A big problem was serving breakfast: around 7 am it was impossible to find a single seat at the table. At check-out I was asked to pay for the room again, although I had paid at check-in and I also had the issued invoice. In short, there are much better places in this world to stay and feel welcome!
GGuest UserWe enjoyed our stay and would go again. Room comfortable, staff pleasant and helpful, we slept very well indeed. Breakfast is good and plentiful but at 19 euros a head on top of the cost of the room it is expensive. The Mauritius feels more like a spa with a hotel rather than a hotel with a spa. So you do see people going through reception (and the restaurant area) wearing bathrobes, which is what happens in a spa. The spa itself is terrific and unlike breakfast is included in the price (although it may be that you need to pay for robe hire). This being Germany, full nudity is obligatory in all the saunas plus the steam room and cold plunge pool. It’s optional in the swimming pools and jacuzzis although in practice this means that most of the people using these are also fully nude. That said, if shedding your costume isn’t up for discussion, there is absolutely no problem with wearing it in the pools and jacuzzis so long as you’re comfortable sharing them with people who aren’t wearing a stitch. It does follow from this that there is an age restriction on entering the whole area, so it’s not the place for a family pool experience. You might also want to take your own flip flops as the hotel-issue ones don’t have much grip on a wet surface. A final word on the costs of the hotel overall – it seems to make quite a difference which night(s) of the week you stay – it might pay to play around with different combinations of nights to see which options are most cost-effective.
