Hotel Barchetta Excelsior Reviews

We stayed three nights in a room advertised for lake view. The actual view is half blocked by a tree. This is very disappointing considering the images at the website. There was a huge bug on bed sheets and blonde hair noted on towels before we started using them. Lastly the hairdryer was broken. After I requested the hairdryer to be replaced, even though the reception staff said they would do it, it just never happened. Air conditioning was unable to be adjusted and the room gets freezing in the evenings. Overall, it was the worst experiences I have had during my three weeks of travelling in Italy. It was a huge disappointment.

Room is normal standard but really clean I love it Water tap are clear & fast But the view is absolutely unbelievable it's beautiful day & night I love this hotel compare other 4 star hotel because here has big balcony ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Nice and considerate staff, kudos to the lady at the front desk who is named Nives. The service is always available, the location is conveniently located. Despite the fact that i had some misgivings regarding the smell of the room (it is okay, but heavily scented somewhat with cleaning products; a pleasant smell of course i can live with but prefer to not have smelled at all), the view here is amazing. Would recommend again for someone who is trying to stay at lake como, a value choice.

A nice hotel overall with excellent service, and a great breakfast. Although we didn't try the bistro, it looks very promising. The building is old and outdated however, and beside noisy plumbing, it's not a big issue.

Super location overlooking the lake. Close to everything. Check in staff very professional and friendly. Spotless clean. We have a room with balcony straight viewing the lake. We all love it. Breakfast area was comfortable. The best hotel service we can expect.

The hotel is in a great location, close to the pier. The room was spacious and was upgraded to a lake view room, which was satisfactory.

The location is very good, the lake view is beautiful, and the breakfast is also good. This hotel is close to Como lago station, but far from another station, Como S. Giovanni. Please pay attention when buying train tickets from Milan; It is very close to the cathedral business district and the lake pier, which is convenient for island hopping by boat; the breakfast is also good

The most satisfying thing is the location. The pier is just across the road from the hotel. The room is average. The breakfast is OK. There are only cucumbers and tomatoes as vegetables. There are several kinds of fruits, but the kiwis are not ripe, sour and hard. It was like this for three days.

Except for the good location, the other things are not suitable for this price

I chose this hotel after hesitating for a long time. I paid 50 Euro more to get a lake view room. Italian hotels are generally old. Although this one is older, the facilities and rooms feel relatively new. It was very comfortable to stay in and the breakfast was delicious. I can rest assured to book this hotel next time.

The hotel is in a superb location, facing Lake Como, and it only takes 5 minutes to walk to Lake Como Train Station and the cruise ship terminal. The front desk upgraded me to a lake view room for free, which was very much appreciated. The buffet breakfast was rich and delicious.
