The hotel is very small, but very distinctive

Poor service and bad management. Have been staying with this hotel for years . The service level and lounge has been slow and closed during Covid. (Just as an update Covid restrictions are over so wake up)My latest stay was not acceptable. Missing items in the room like iron . Had to call house keeping and they were all but rude to bring to me. Checking in was also rude and no Bonvoy recognition nor did that have any recognition for titanium status until I ask them and they said ok however because lounge is closed . They gave me a breakfast voucher and told me good for $40 breakfast before 12 and $20 after for snacks . First day did not have any issue I had a beer and candy . This has also been the same for the last 10 visits. When I tried this second morning to get a water and snack the manager in store told me I could not and only breakfast items . He told me he has been there for months and this is the rules. He then brought over a front desk manager who told me that this has always been the policy and therefor only breakfast items which by the way the have like two. Bottom line as Bonvoy hotels comeback and think they can skim from the customer on service and amenities they will soon learn and pay the long term price of lost customers. The hotel rates have doubled and I understand inflation however cutting service and loyalty is not good business.
Fort Pontchartrain Detroit, a Wyndham Hotel

The furniture was badly scratched and damaged. The carpet was nearly worn out. The desk chair fabric was worn, and even the trashcans were rusted inside. Overall, the room needed to be remodeled. My room was cleaned once after the first day of a five-day stay. The cleaning staff didn't come until 2:30-3 pm on days three and four. I attended training classes and events between 9 am and 2 pm. I will probably not book a room at a Wyndham Hotel again. I should have taken photos.
Element Detroit at the Metropolitan

The hotel room is very nice, the decoration style is modern, the area is large, and the cleaning work is done well. The building where the hotel is located has a sense of character and age, but the breakfast is relatively simple
Quality Inn Detroit Downtown

Friendly staff, the usual continental breakfast fare (cereal, breads, hard-boiled eggs), and great central location for exploring downtown Detroit. Our room was nicer than the outside of the motel looked, with a little fridge and microwave. My only complaint (& not much of a complaint) is that the room was a bit stuffy - we were told that the A/C didn't get turned on until June. But overall, a good stay, and with free parking! Good value for the price.
Baymont by Wyndham Downtown Detroit

The staff was rude from the very first phone call. Refused to take our reservation over the phone. When we arrived we found out there was a $100 deposit that was required-talked to others in our group-they were not charged that fee. I tried to talk to the girl at the front desk she wanted no part of listening to me. Our entire group ( we were there for state wrestling finals) and our keys were all uncoded for our 2nd night. So after a long day we ALL had to go to the office and get new keys. The rooms were dirty-very dirty. Hair in the shower, our friends room had glass on the flower and messages left from Valentines Day on the counter. Almost no hot water-the front desk person had no way to get extra towels. Rooms had 2 towels with a 4 person occupancy. We tried to book somewhere else but due to the wrestling finals we couldn’t find any other place with availability. This is not a Baymont standard hotel and we are very dissatisfied. I will be disputing these charges with my bank.
