Malmaison Edinburgh
3.9/5103 Reviews
This hotel is historic and grand, I highly recommend it. Was once the Harbor Master's house for the port of Leith and it truly holds all of the charm of a historic building, but with many cool upgrades! The area is really charming, just off the water and a fairly quick bus ride to all the downtown sites. Every single member of the staff from the restaurant, to housekeeping to the front desk really went out of their way to be kind, helpful and attentive. This was a trip of a lifetime for me and they truly made my visit to Edinburgh all the more. I highly recommend The Malmaison. Thank you so very much for an excellent stay.

Very good, the feeling of going home, you have it, and some people have cleaned up. Away from the city, it is 10 minutes to drive into the city center. The parking in the city is very expensive. If you have the opportunity to go to Edinburgh in the future, you will choose to live here. Then you can choose the bus. The station is conveniently located next to it. A big supermarket 10 minutes walk nearby, I still have a very beautiful scarf inside~
Holiday Inn Express Edinburgh - Leith Waterfront, an IHG Hotel

Hotel was clean and Quiet.Reception staff friendly and helpful Easy access to city via buses. Sea food restaurants nearby. Hotels breakfast was good except scrambled egg not to my taste.(Dry) Toilet in the room no toilet brush. Bar did not have bloody Mary. Was a bit disappointing.! The hotel staff especially Madina and Lucas went beyond to help and give good advice for first time visitors. Worth trying Holiday Inbn Express Edinborough.
A-Haven Townhouse Hotel

On arrival we were greeted warmly by our hosts who proved most helpful in getting a room we liked and opening the secure car park for us. We took a room in a separate building opening onto the car park which, while small, was cosy and precisely fitted our desire not to climb stairs and to have easy access to outdoors. Breakfast was exceptional with both the 'Full Scottish' and Smoked Haddock and poached eggs (a particular favourite) available. The location was superb with a bus stop within 100 yds offering a service into Princes Street one way and the Royal Yacht Britannia the other. It was also an easy walk to Newhaven Harbour with great seafood restaurants. I cannot recommend it more highly. Absolutely fabulous.

Although it is a bit far from the city center, tram is very convenient! Next to it is the Spanish Visa Center. If you are coming from Scotland to apply for a visa, you can stay here for a while if you are not in a hurry to return~ The boss was super nice and even checked us in early when we arrived early. The food and drinks prepared are all delicious! The environment is super cozy 🥲I love it! ! If you need to stay in Aibo next time, you will stay here again! !

New to Edinburgh but not Premier Inn. We were warmly greeted and staff were very helpful throughout our stay. Great view from our room overlooking the harbour. The room as expected everything you need. Continental breakfast more than adequate and well laid out. Easy access into Edinburgh city by tram a short distance away. Booking all day ticket cheaper option and easy to do on smartphone. We didn't eat at Brewers Fayre in the evenings but choose the Fishmarket just along the harbour Best fish and chips ever ! Service great in the resturant. A great stay and we would recommend.

Weather and the best time to travel to Edinburgh:

Edinburgh is the capital city of Scotland. It is the second-most populous city of Scotland and is among the 20 most populated cities of the United Kingdom. The city has an overall population of about a million as of 2018, and the total area of the capital city is about 102 miles squared. The city includes its former villages and towns from the 19th century after expanding and retains its true old character in many aspects. The New Town and Old Town areas of Edinburgh are listed as UNESCO World Heritage Sites. The climate of Edinburgh is very similar to the rest of the country. The region experiences a maritime, temperate climate that is mild in comparison to other places (like Moscow) which lie on the same latitudinal level. This temperate nature is due to the moderating effect due to Edinburgh’s proximity to the sea. The city is situated in between coast and hills and is often referred to as “the windy city”. Winter temperatures of Edinburgh cannot be called freezing, but yes winters can get a bit cold there. Talking about summers, the days are not very hot or scorching, rather they are mildly warm.
