Village Hotel London Watford Reviews

Staff were very pleasant but there were a No towels in the room and when we asked for some at reception they took 20 minutes to arrive. Worse was that I booked a twin room and they gave us a double bed. Unfortunately my mate is *** so it was bit awkward 🤦🏻

Great facilities for the sporty person, also good location.

This review was based on a visit that I should of stayed in last week. Received a call today to say boiler has broken down so no hot water but we will give you 10% off the bar bill. Don't really cut it so i booked another hotel. Room transfered to another week. But based on previous stays thats my feed back. Not really the hotels thought boiler packs up.

Good , pleasent hotel

Indeed I don't indicate that hotel to anybody. My room was so dirty. Dust in the Blinders, nobody changed the bin after the last client. The towel was on the bathroom floor. I did my check in and then I went to meet some friends, when i came back and i went to talk with the manager he told me it was too late to complain, i should check my bedroom early. He was extremely sarcastic and useless.

Yeah for such a nice hotel the friendly staff were amazing it was being felt like we were treated like being felt like we were treated like royalty we couldn't ask for a better set of staff and as for the the accommodation well Mike gorge it was just fantastic it was just fantastic 5 star 5 star better than 5 star better than some London hotels and considering it seems the area of Watford since the area of Watford we were most pleasantly surprised we would never ever have expected something so glamorous we would definitely be staying here again

Nice Stay

Hotel was ok.too many kids hanging around kicking a football in the carpsrk.hitting cars staff nowhere to be seen .breakfast was a joke room was ok but have too many people that are just walking in to.use the gym they hog the seating and parking so.wasnt really impressed

I stayed here for 2 nights on a business trip. I arrived at the hotel early and couldn't check in but there is a business hub in the hotel where i was able to have my own booth and work for a couple of hours. I booked a club room which was a great size and very modern and clean and included the use of the Gym and pool in the hotel. All the facilities were immaculate, there is a great restaurant and bar on site and the hotel is a very nice environment. there is also a Starbucks in the main reception area. 10 miles outside central London so also a great location for traveling in to central without having to stay in the city. Will definitely stay again

Arrived very late and given a room on the 3rd floor. Rooms on the 3rd and 4th floor are designated "club rooms" - the room I was given was nice, had a couple of chairs in it, but unfortunately, it had twin beds. My booking was for a double room and this had been automatically added to the booking as a special instruction. When I tried to call reception, I found there was no means of doing this. A QR code is provided but this didn't work. I had to go back downstairs. I was now given a room on the 2nd floor. I asked if it was the same kind of room as I believed I had been allocated a club room. I was told that none of the available rooms were club rooms - the room was the same. Except it was not - in place of the two chairs was a single footstool. It being long after midnight by now, I decided not to make a big deal about this and to go to sleep. While getting ready for bed, I discovered there was no toilet paper in the room. I don't understand how such a mistake can be made. I had to get dressed again and once again go downstairs. The guy on reception went into the communal ladies toilet behind his desk, but could not find any there either. He promised to bring me some. Once again, I asked about the type of room. He insisted that floors 3 and 4 were not made up of club rooms despite it clearly saying this on the lift. Toilet paper arrived soon after. Next morning, my shower was tepid. Surely, not too hard to do a bit better than this.

Very comfy bed & pillows, had an issue with our room initially but we were soon moved to another room. Unfortunately on our second night we had very noisy neighbours so didn’t get a great nights sleep, could do with more sound proofing!

Nice hotel my bath wasn't great chipped and rusty lighting in room to dim sometimes other guests noisy late at night but ok great bar and food good

Stayed here for work which was a first for me. Room had some issues with blinds that were broke so couldnt use them, stain on the duvet and chips in the bath/shower which were sharp on the feet! However, the bar staff and reception are amazing. I was served by Maria and Adam, both were fantastic! Receptionist was also really lovely and helpful, for these reasons alone i would return. Perhaps it was just a bad room?

Arrived on Xmas eve and the hotel was over-run by dozens of some not so savory clientele. I understand that the hotel has no right to discriminate over who it allows to stay there, but there were zero measures in place to ensure there was order, i.e. some security personnel. We came back to the hotel on Xmas day evening and there was trash all over the lobby area floor and many many young children running around unsupervised and messing with the elevators so nobody else could use them. On Boxing Day evening and early hours of the 27th, we were kept awake beyond 1.00am by the sounds of both children and adults outside of the building. Awoken in the early hours of the morning by drunk unruly adults. Again, where was the security? Condition of the rooms has really deteriorated with mold and rusty shower door/other fixtures. ***** hair found on bathroom floor from previous guests. I’ve been staying at this hotel at least once/year since it first opened and I’m unlikely to stay there again.
