Lovely atmosphere at the reception and wonderful view from the room. Staff is very friendly. However, the buffet breakfast was a bit disappointing and there were no staff to support at all.

Very good hotel, clean and comfortable. The staff is very friendly and helpful. We had a small incident and they helped us in a very kind and efficient manner. A special thanks to O’Shea and the front desk who saved the rest of our trip in Ireland.

The front lobby has a lovely appeal, which is the only positive aspect we had. We rented two rooms. One was supposed to have a king, and the other was supposed to have two beds. Ours had a double, or a small queen, and our other booking had a double and a king. The restaurant menu listed allergies on the menu. We ordered the lamb because it was dairy-free, but we were told that a few items (the mash and the carrots) of the dish contained dairy despite not being listed on the menu. We were offered a few baby potatoes instead. Typically, when there are questions about allergies, Chefs come out to ensure the safety of the meal and not let young servers who are untrained guess what the dish contains. The servers also seemed uninterested and did not check on us or refill our drinks. Regarding the meal, it was unseasoned. Just because we need dairy-free for safety doesn't mean that nothing else could be used. Lastly, we arrived at the hotel after 12M on our second day after visiting Galway, and the lack of security was shocking. A key card was not required to enter the hotel, nor was there an attendant at the front desk when we arrived to ensure we were guests of the hotel. Coincidentally, our card did not work to enter our room; I went back down to the front desk and called out for assistance with no answer. Eventually, I had to ring a bell for assistance. He finally heard me as he appeared to be cleaning the bar area after it closed. He was very friendly but strange a key card is not required to enter after hours at such an establishment. Overall, I was disappointed in the entire stay.

Stayed one night in 2 rooms ie family and triple which very spacious and comfortable and clean. Greeted by Emma at reception who was very efficient. Lobby very spacious with tea/coffee for guests. Hotel quiet on a Friday night so not much activity in Bar but restaurant was busy but then season not in full swing yet. Adjacent to golf club so people use restaurant. Used swimming pool with jacuzzi, sauna which were very good and clean. Good choice at breakfast, even catered for gluten free breakfast with helpful staff. One of our party took ill in the lobby but one of the housekeeping staff Eddy was exceptional and compassionate in her assistance with my aunt while another staff member was rude and very unhelpful. Finally on check out we met Caoimhe who was very welcoming and professional in checking us out. She was very pleasant. Hotel out from Ennis but plenty of parking. Exterior may need upgrading but while we were there landscaper looking at same. Lobby and hallways cold somewhat as exterior doors left open till late. Definitely would stay here again.

I had high hopes for The Woodstock but unfortunately our stay was a huge disappointment. Our room was extremely outdated but in all honestly it served the purpose and was clean. My main problems with the Woodstock was with the staff and the restaurant. On the first morning of our stay, I went down to the lobby to find some coffee to take back to the room for my wife and I. I was told to go to the restaurant which I did. At the restaurant I was told to go to the bar and there was coffee there for guests. I went to the bar and was very abruptly approached by two staff members to very rudely told me to "leave now" and "go to the restaurant!" They actually yelled at me! I was confused because there were people sitting in the bar eating and drinking coffee so I couldn't understand what I had done wrong. Finally, a server came out from the back, saw what was happening, made me some coffee to take to the room. The staff I encountered was so rude to me I was very taken back by their attitudes and extremely embarrassed. I reported this to the front desk and never got any feedback from them. My next issue was that the restaurant which was worst I've ever had the displeasure of dining. I've been with my wife 15 years and this was the first time I've ever sent food back. Everything was terrible. I actually asked if there was a real chef on staff or were they just heating up plates of pre made food. I asked because my plate was very hot and the mashed potatoes were coagulated with a hard crust. My fish was bland and old tasting. It's been my experience that when a plate is hot it means that it was prepared, refrigerated and then flash heated on the plate. Next, my wife chicken was terrible as well. We ordered a seafood starter that was ice cold. Plate and all. When we asked if it's supposed to be cold we were told "No. That is served hot". Well this was iced cold. Then another server told us it was served cold. Who knows! AllI know is that it was terrible. It was a shame because we were celebrating my birthday but the bad meal ruined the whole experience. I would bypass this place if you are staying in Ennis. Bad situation for sure. They definitely need a lesson in customer service.

My experience at this hotel was very unpleasant. I would not recommend this hotel nor would I ever book here again. Our room was in dire need of a deep clean. There was makeup smeared on the head board, our bed sheets were dirty and appeared as through very little cleaning was taking place between stays. We were not aware the hotel also had permanent residents who made us feel very uncomfortable for the duration of our stay.

Absolute gem of a hotel, staff were friendly, rooms were spotless and the restaurant menu was delicious. The hardest part of the stay was figuring out what to have for dinner, the options were all so good, and when they came out they were amazing. We can’t wait to stay here again, one of the nicest hotels we have stayed in staff wise and cleanliness.

What a wonderful facility and experience. The hotel has old world charm with lovely amenities. The best feature of the hotel, by far, was the people! The staff was charming, responsive, and genuinely cared to make our stay special. They offered suggestions for local places to visit and helped to make sure our family trip to Ireland was exactly what we were looking for. Highly recommend!
