This hotel is just super cool! Run as a 1 man show the hotels offers so much. Great breakfast, snacks to take away at the reception, great beds and bathtub, nice sauna area, bar with pool table and darts, a golf simulator and much much more. 70+ TV programs with deluxe music channel. Reptiles and eichhoerchen in the hotel make a very special atmosphere. Love it and will be checking out more locations in the future as I will settle in Freudenstadt and don't need a hotel stay here. Thank you Mr. Kohl for the nice conversations Nd insider knowledge. Boris

Fun & Whacky & Super! Traveling on a budget with the family. Found this hotel quite by accident and was not sure what to expect. But it’s an absolute gem. The front desk and housekeeping super kind. There was a foosball table, pool table and other games for kids. AND there are animals here… how totally bizarre and very cool! The breakfast is pretty basic.

Property was nice and clean. Breakfast was nice. Check in was a bit awkward. It was late but still well before they closed front desk. When we arrived the woman was not expecting us. She stayed in office behind front desk woking to get us a room. Finally came out to give us keys. Room was large and roomy. Lots of suggestive comments posted around room and hotel that were off-putting. I was traveling with my daughter.

Friendly staff and nice free mini bar and facilities, could maybe just do with a fan or something in the room for the hotter days. But other than that perfect nice modern room.

It was a property we needed to book since the property we had closed because of Covid. This property needs a new manager. The staff was overworked.

Let me start with the thing that made us leave asap: there was dried up urine all over the toilet seat and floor. I have been travelling a lot and have over 100 hotels only on *********** and probably an other 100 hotels through work and other agencies. And from those 200 hotels this is the fist time I have arrived at an hotel and just walked out and decided to stay in an other hotel. We did arrive at the hotel and the parking is just in front of the hotel, there are no safety measures, there are no gates or fences or lights, so your car is not any safer here than next to the public road. But nevertheless the hotel asks a fee of €10 for parking there. The lobby of the hotel feels like an 80's techno club: dark, black&red painted and decrepit. So after checkin we arrive at our room and put all our suitcases down (didn't felt safe to leave anything in the car) and we sit down at the bed for a moment. At that moment I noticed a black hair next to the pillow. So we take the sheets of the bed and there are multiple hairs all over the sheets. the sheets looked clean at first sight, so I don't know if it were the housekeepers hairs or the previous guest. So we clean the hears from the bed ourselves and I went to the toilet, the toilet cover was down, but the seat of the toilet was full of yellowish dried-up urine. Not just a few drops that somebody could have missed cleaning, but at least 20% of the seat was covered. This made me almost puke and I did notice that the ground was covered as well. I went to the reception, but they clearly don't like to deal with complaints, because they wouldn't help us. When I felt that the discussion was going nowhere and the receptionist was getting angry we just left and tried to contact the hotel via ***********. I've had a great experience with the customer care center of ***********, but unfortunately even they never got any response from the hotel. to the point that they even gave me the direct contact information of the hotel. I'm not a difficult person, mistakes can be made and everybody deserves a second chance, so the thing that bothered me the most was just that there never came any response or excuses from the hotel. Not to me or to their partner, ***********. there are plenty beautiful places and hotel in the Black Forest, enjoy your time there, just go in a large circle around this hotel.

I was planning to stay at this place as there are not other brand or chain hotels around and from the internet reviews and pictures I thought this could be a good walk-in option as I was not really planning an overnight stay in the area. When approaching the place a first doubt came to my mind, if this is a good idea. Standing in front of this run down building surrounded by big housing blocks, in movies often referred as a "ghetto-area" I was actually shocked. Still I thought as this a nation chain with certain good reviews and as it was only for a night and a spontaneous decision I was daring to walk inside to realize this was an abandoned place and the lobby used by the locals from the "block-buildings" around as a shelter; possibly a shelter for refugees, what is actually nice, but the management should consider to remove this "hotel" from all online channel and post real pictures from this place. The lobby was fully littered and no staff members around. The reception and back office were open to everyone and papers with former guest's details laying around. It seemed as someone was "helping himself looking for something" if you know what I mean. This is definitely not a hotel in operation ready to welcome guests. Rather a very spooky and abandoned place like in a horror movie. So I sticked to my original plan an left... Wow, if this the Dormero standard one would better sleep in his car or go to one of the many family run hotels. As it was on a Sunday and just for a quick night and sleep I thought I could consider, but I did not feel safe at all and the hygiene and cleanliness was worse than in a public restroom at a busy train station. God help the people who possibly work there - I have not seen anyone! And the feedback system at the door was out of order... What else to expect. Maybe it was the site for a end-of-the world apocalypsovie. Definitely not a hotel or stay you could feel welcome.

Not only the location within a very filthy and abandoned area was shocking upon arriving; there were people sitting in front of the hotel and moving around the 'lobby' which defiantly belong to the 'project-complex' (HLM) and not to the hotel. The doors were widely open, but no hotel staff around. As indicated by a sign, guests have to use a very dirty and sticky (defiantly not hygiene and certainly not in-line with COVID-19 sanitary regulations) telephone to call a reservation agent. Unfortunately you only get to know, that there is no staff around until 16:00 hrs (official check-in time). Never the less, even the back-office was completely open and also on the reception desk registration cards with personal information were laying around - visible for everybody, with all personal information, one should keep at a discrete place to cope with official data protection policies. The furniture in the lobby was old and damaged. With all the garbage laying around, broken glass on the ground no staff on place but strange people hanging around and squatting in the lobby befitting from the vacantness this place is the most horrible 'hotel' I ever (almost) stayed. The driveway in front of the hotel was full of potholes and the signs at the entrance seemed like this place was abandoned a while ago and serves now as a retreat for homeless people. Don't get me wrong: if this is the intention to give shelter to homeless people, this is a nice gesture. Still you would need a bit of surveillance and should defiantly not sell rooms at this place to guests, which might have a certain need of security. I would defiantly not want my personal data, including credit card details laying around in a doss house / hostel for homeless people. There are other ways I help people in need! After I have called the group reservation to complain about the state I found the hotel / hostel, asking for a staff to speak with in person on spot, as I could not imagine, that this would be the standard DORMERO would strive for, I was told, that the hotel manager should be around and will be called to the lobby via the reservation agent I had on phone. Well, still after 15 Mins nobody showed up, so I had nothing else to do but leaving from this spooky and creepy place. How could someone leave such a place and run it down to such a bad state?! How could ever someone rate the location and state better than terrible?! Have a look at this place - you would not believe you are in Germany / Black Forrest / Freudenstadt but somewhere else, where nobody lives or took care for ages! I traveled the world and am not only staying at 5* Hotels; but the worst 1* Hotel is cleaner and safer as this place. I understand one might chose the location for the cheap construction site. But not hotel should place their name / brand proudly on that abandoned, filthy, down-and-out garbage dump! Luckily there are many family run places in the area, where I found an alternative quickly. But as I am bit

An impertinence, very neglected, mold, hair and stains everywhere. Very disappointed as every hostel is cleaner and cheaper. Not recommendable. No restaurant no bar, only one employee at the reception. It's a shame for the area, because it's beautiful
