Grand Base Hakata Premium

Hakata
The room was quite large and very cost-effective, matching the hotel's description. Just over 10 minutes walking distance from JR station. Self-service check-in, if you have any questions, you can press the help button at the front desk for assistance.

We stayed for 6 nights. Place probably more suitable for at most 3 nights because they do not clean your room throughout the length of your stay. If you can bear not having room vacuum & mop for more than 3 nights then this is a very good place. Towels can be obtained from front desk any time which is good. Pillow is soft, not sufficient support. Harder pillow ran out. I used 2 soft pillows & 2 bath towels beneath them. Near to Hakata train, JR stations & Bus Terminal. Also walking distant from Hakata Old Town. Generally, room was clean & bright. Staff were polite & helpful.

I chose the washbasin on the bed side and the bath and toilet are separated. Because it was used by a private car, after arriving, I told the front desk to use the parking lot in the hotel, and the three-dimensional parking lot cannot be used by the approach of typhoon 14, so please look for the parking lot by yourself. Then, I wanted to guide you by the map with the parking lot near the hotel at least. I was disappointed to think that the stress of looking for parking while examining parking fees in the land I didn't know was not understood by this hotel.
Tenza Hotel at Hakata Station

The first is the advantage. The location is close to Hakata Station and is a 5-minute walk away, which is very convenient. In addition, there is enough space in the room, and it is no problem to open two suitcases flatly. Then the hotel lobby provides DHC makeup remover and facial cleansing products, which is great. The hotel's hardware facilities are good, but the hotel staff is seriously unprofessional. First of all, when we checked in, the two male staff couldn't find our order. After fussing for a while, they suddenly said they had found it, but they couldn't explain the reason to us. Then the male staff member Eda gave us the room card for room 710 for the first time, but when we went up to the room and opened the door, we found that the room was still occupied by guests. The staff actually assigned rooms that have not yet checked out to newly checked-in guests. Such serious negligence is unimaginable. We immediately returned to the lobby and found the male staff member Eda to explain the incident, but the other person just changed a room card, and his attitude seemed to be a normal thing. After this incident, people are really worried about the security level of the hotel.

The hotel is close to the river and the view is very good; the community is peaceful and clean; there are shopping malls and convenience stores nearby; it is convenient to walk to Hakata, and it is also convenient to walk to other shopping locations and restaurants.
ANA Crowne Plaza Fukuoka, an IHG Hotel

My second visit to Fukuoka, but first time trying out the Crowne Plaza, as I was in town to catch the Cirque du Soleil show Kurious in Fukuoka. I took a taxi from the airport as many travelers recommended this and the distance is quite near, as Fukuoka is not a big city. However, one could also take the subway from the airport as it’s just a couple of stop to Hakata station. The hotel is about ten minutes walk from Hakata station, may take longer if it’s your first time. Most of the staff here are very friendly and helpful, I was checked in quickly and, thr room size is very large if one compares with most Japanese hotels. Room was super clean and everything works well inside. Sleep comfort was very good as well, and the breakfast room on the lobby level was very good as well, a great combination of local and western favorites. Don’t miss a wonderful ramen shop near the hotel near Hakataekimae, it’s called Hakata Ikkousha Sohonten can can be found on Yelp! It’s where the locals go, and so much better than the overrated Ichiran. I would definitely return again in the future.
