The Royal Savoy undoubtedly occupies the best location for the leisure traveller. Since 2004, when it first opened on the site of the original Savoy Lido, this hotel is popular with all ages, newcomers, and regulars year after year.
Recently refurbished the hotel fails to disappoint

I knew it was a timeshare/vacation club before we booked with TUI, but that makes for regular and prompt attention from the excellent staff. Our Junior suite - large en-suite with seating area and small well equipped kitchen (including real teapot pot and kettle) was very clean and comfortable, kept that way through the day by the very professional cleaning staff. Evening entertainment was very good, suitable for older travellers, and importantly prices even at the Pool side bars were very reasonable, a change from the usual rip-off hotel prices. Loved being able to dive into the sea from the platforms provided, and the 2 outside salt swimming pools were both large and a decent depth. Will certainly return, as do many others we spoke to. A little gem of a hotel, a short walk to the Port and town of Funchal.

Always enjoy the annual trip to Madeira. The RS location is perfect for a short walk to town and the view of the ocean from the balcony is just right. A restful venue, easy just to remain within the resort but there are also plenty of restaurants, bars and other shops with easy walking distance.

This was our third visit to the Royal Savoy and once again it didn’t disappoint. It is an amazing hotel with the most wonderful staff you could wish for. One of the best things is its location, giving an easy walk into Funchal. Would we visit again? YES, YES, YES it is like going home to visit family, that’s how it feels.

We spent a week in a studio apar**ent which had everything you needed for a comfortable stay. The bed was superking and the linen pillows were super comfortable. Cleaning everyday to suit your timescale and every member of staff we encountered was friendly, smiley and very welcoming. All communal areas were kept extremely clean and the whole resort was neat and tidy. Excellent service in bars and restaurants and the food offered was extremely tasty and well presented. Reception and concierges were courteous, knowledgeable and nothing was too much trouble. Thank you everyone for looking after us so well.

We stayed in an apar**ent (a friend lent us their timeshare). It was very well furnished with large bed, 2 bathrooms, lounge, kitchen with microwave, hob, sink, kettle, coffee machine and dishwasher. Balcony. Excellent WiFi, lovely spa. Good service, choice of bars and restaurants. Easy walk to promenade, 15 min walk to cable car station.
