"Fenix Furano was a quaint little hotel with little frills, but it suited us fine... we understood the green policy behind minimising housekeeping, and we are totally fine with in.
One downside is that they didn't have non-slip mats for the bathtub when you used it to shower. The body soap was very soapy and with the tub surface; making it a potential safety concern... and indeed, my elderly mum-in-law fell and hit her head.. she had a bump and some bleeding. We hope that the management looks into this for the safety of all guests.
Apart from this, we enjoyed the tranquillity of the vacinity and drove out to wherever we wanted from there. We would recommend this place if you have a rental car."
"Online check-in in advance always got stuck at the credit card registration stage. I changed three cards but it didn't work. This is a bit inconvenient. It may be that most domestic cards have restrictions on registering on the Internet.
We proposed to pay a cash deposit, but the hotel's verification was in the afternoon after check-out, so the hotel could not accept this proposal. In the end, the hotel took a photo of the credit card for record, which is a bit unsafe. The hotel must have had a very bad experience in the past (some guests lived in a very messy place), so it is understandable that there is a shadow in this regard.
In terms of service, the pick-up service and check-in staff are very nice. The only shortcoming is that the wifi password was not informed in advance (?) There is no booklet in the room, and no one responded to the inquiry on WhatsApp at night."
"This air bnb-style apartment is simple and clean. Although the place is small, it is comfortable and cheaper than the new apartment hotel nearby. The location is actually quite good. Open the door and you will find the ski trail, which is very suitable for friends who love skiing. When we came to Furano in summer, we did not ski or take a car, but there is a bus stop outside the accommodation, from which we can take a bus to Nakafurano and Upper Furano to see lavender, which is very convenient. We go out by bus at 10:49 every day, and return to the hotel at 20:06 in the evening. You can buy wagyu, bread, etc. in the supermarket near the scenic spot and cook for yourself in the apartment, which is very convenient!"

"I like this accommodation very much. If you come to Furano (self-driving), you must recommend it; I can see that H2 is very hearty and has prepared a welcome card and refreshments; In terms of facilities, everything is available, the kitchen equipment and electrical appliances are first-class, cooking is very convenient, there is also a washing machine and a dryer, although the room does not have air conditioning, but at least a fan, if the window is opened, the summer night is also very cool. No photos of the room, but it feels similar to the website, it is the same beauty."
"The facilities were clean and easy to use.
Everything was good except that it was a bit difficult to contact the landlord.
I recommend this as the best accommodation in Furano."
"It’s perfect for a self-driving trip to Furano. The breakfast provided by the hotel is also very rich. It’s very healing to see the squirrels and Hokkaido’s unique birds while eating breakfast. The whole hotel also has a Hayao Miyazaki feel."

Great
CC Lam LWe had a very pleasant stay in Felix West.
I had to specially give compliment to the hotel staff and service team. They are very helpful, friendly, patient and professional. Their service and attitude impressed us a lot and that would be the reason for staying at this hotel upon our next visit to Furano.
We were a group of 6 and staying at 3-bedroom suite was incredibly nice and comfortable. We had certain privacy by having 3 rooms in the suite and we could also gather in the dining area. Kitchen is fully equipped. Rooms are tidy and neat with amenities. Beds are very comfy and the whole environment was very quiet, so we slept very well. There is also a cafe downstairs.
We travelled by car, so quite easy to get to the hotel and there is hotel carpark. If no car, reaching the hotel would be a bit challenging.
Overall, we loved and enjoyed a lot our stay in the hotel.
GGuest UserHotel is slightly off the city centre but not a problem for us as we were having own transport. Hotel front desk staff having excellent services. Free access to lounge with drinks and snacks were nice of hotel hospitality.
Highly recommended & is my choice of stay if I visit Furano again.
HHighland NomnomMost things were great and enjoyable at La Vista Furano Hills. Minor booboos were observed in (1) room size wasn’t too great, we could barely open 2 luggages at the same time without moving the small table aside (2) slight yellow stain was seen on one of the pillow covers, but wasn’t too much of an issue as we have a habit of bringing our own pillow covers (3) one of the reserved bath house (40deg) had some stuff floating within, not sure if it lacks maintenance or something else. (4) late night noodles would’ve been better if there were vegetarian friendly options.
That being said, the breakfast spread was wonderful and we really enjoyed the facilities eg. Private bathhouse with Mountain View, laundry (FOC for washer wow!), ice cream, probiotic drinks, massage chair, comic library were really great. Lots of vending machine options available, and rooftop viewing deck was spacious too. Pudding was phenomenal!
We would come back again ^^
GGuest UserI really like the modern design of this hotel. The lighting and artwork was exceptional. The room was comfy. My favorite hotel so far!
The service and the onsen were amazing.
The food was a but pricey for the quality though. Would prefer eating around the area
TTRuthGreat value and location if you travel solo. I found the quality of the hostel dropped during the peak ski season as it is almost at its max capacity, other than that I love the kitchen and common area. Has bus stop right in front of the hostel too.
VVaganovaGreat location and service, couldn’t fault that. Helpful staff and literally across the road from the gondola. Great inclusions like afternoon tea with desert bar with nice selection of tasty deserts, ice cream and drinks in the evenings. Breakfast could be improved, great for those that like seafood, but not so great for more western food options. I am sure even in winter there are apples, bananas and other options rather than frozen fruits and pastry that comes in packages that lasts a few weeks or at least that is how pastry tasted. One of the kids only eats toast and eggs or pastry and milk for breakfast and couldn’t find anything to eat there. But my husband loved the buffet. Rooms are pretty outdated, so be mindful. Bathrooms haven’t had anything done to them since probably 80-90th, but it was clean and public bath was good. Restaurant was booked out for dinners for a week in advance (at least) when we checked in but it seemed like there is only one seating in general for dinner.
AAnonymous UserService: so far so good.
Location: ski in ski out hotel. Location was good
Buffet restaurant was good. Don’t bother to pay and try other restaurants apart from buffet!
GGuest UserExcellent view & distance from Furano station! Very nice & sweet of the hotel to provide a map and marking out the restaurants of different cuisines, the kobini and tourist spot nearby. Check in & out were fuss free & simple using the machine. In addition to the mentioned points, it was very nice of the staff to agree with helping to dispose off unwanted winter boots as not all hotels will do that especially without additional charges. Too bad i was only in the area for a day, will defintely be back to this hotel if i ever go Furano again.
GGuest UserI stayed 5 nights in July 2025, and I am fully satisfied and would totally recommend the hostel.
The hostel is located in a peaceful area, you can get there by bus from the airport or from Furano Station. The hostel provides slippers, a towel, a toothbrush, a hair brush, and earplugs. You will find shampoo, conditioner, and shower gel in the showers. The bunk beds are spacious enough for a tall person (I'm 170 and had lots of space left), have and entrance with a curtain that totally covers from the light outside if you need to go to bed early, and you can charge your phone inside. I met many nice people, both Japanese and foreigners, the hostel is very international, we had some convenience store food for dinner/breakfast in the common room and shared our travel plans and recommendations for the local area. I was advised to go to Biei Tourism Information to book a half a day tour, which can be booked on the day there, and includes all the sightseeing spots around Biei, so you don't have to worry about how to get to these famous tourist spots. Also, I was advised to rent a bicycle (the 2nd one from the station is only 2000yen for a day) and where to go around Furano, so I'm really happy the hostel provides a common area for us to help each other, and to never feel alone there. All in all, I'll be back in the winter season and for lavender season again. Thank you for having me.
AAnonymous UserGreat hotel for its price, nearby the Furano Prince ropeway and ski areas only 5 minutes by taxi or their daily shuttle bus that only service once 8.30am and back 6pm to and from the prince ropeway ski area. For dinner, it was close when we're there so I had to walk 15 mins to the nearest Lawson convince store in the snow. Recommend to get your lunch or dinner prepared before coming here. Room was clean and complete. Thanks for the hotel for a great stay
