Fabulous historic hotel in the center of the beautiful YueXiu district. Rooms are huge, staff is efficient, speaks English, and very polite. Rooms have high ceilings, huge windows and very well decorated in a classic but super comfortable classical China style. Yuexiu Park metro station is 5 min walk, and next door is a Starbucks and McDonalds. Across the street is a new mall with lots of Chinese restaurants. It’s also about a 10 minute walk from Guangzhou’s famous clothing wholesale markets. Hotel lobby is huge and totally fabulous! Staying here makes you feel like you are living a life of luxury, but still at a reasonable price. One thing I would tell the staff to improve : showers need to be scrubbed better because any mold in the shower is unacceptable, even a little. This is a common problem in China, different standards than western cultures I guess. Otherwise, this is the place to stay. Standard Rooms here are a lot larger than at the China Hotel next door, and usually rooms rates for both properties are similar. Why not stay at Dong Fang and get a nicer room for the same price ?

Great hotel, really good quality price ratio. Very conveniently located close to Yuexiu Park and the metro station for Line 2. Close to Guangzhou Train Station South. Great buffet breakfast at the Veranda Cafe. And if you're in the mood for fast food there is a Burger King, Starbucks and a Domino's in the same block. I will book this hotel again if I'm back on GZ.

Given the high rating and reputation of this hotel, I was shocked by the conditions of the supposedly newly renovated rooms. I was staying at the standard room on the twelve floor , facing the historical buildings. We checked in after 10:30pm under the drizzles and chill - the outside temperature was around 10 degress. I noticed the holes of the linen of the blinds when they were rolled down, though it could still function. Yet, the light shield was worse. It was trapped on one side and could not be let down. The plus side was we were offered another room on the same floor immediately. Leo who helped to bring our luggage up was very polite and patient. He stayed outside our room when his colleague brought the new key of the new room and accompanied us to the new room to ensure everything was all right. He was worth 5 out of 5 for service. However, I would further explain why I only gave 4 out of 5 for service. Yet, the new room was smaller and for any other international hotels , from my experience, would offer an upgrade of the room. This hotel did not. Thats why I gave 4 out of 5 for service. The linen of the blinds in the new room was still far from 100%. I could still detect torn tissues , most probably because the blinds were dated. Thats why I gave a 3 out of 5 for facilities.

I live in a suite, and the washing machine has a drying function. In Guangzhou, which is hot and hot, it is very convenient for me, who has to wash and dry clothes every day. The hotel is in an excellent location. It is within a reasonable distance from Shangxiajiu Pedestrian Street and Chen Clan Ancestral Hall. It takes more than 10 minutes to walk and 7 minutes to walk to the subway station. The hotel actually occupies three floors of a residential building. The room is really not flattering. There is a bed as soon as you open the door. There is only one bed in the whole room. Two people can only sleep on the bed in the room. There is no place to put it in the room. The toilet is small and pitiful. One person can't take a shower and the other person can't use the toilet. . This is the smallest room I have ever booked on Ctrip. The order indicates that there are windows, but there are no windows, and the area is definitely not 20 square meters. Won’t book again, poor experience

We really enjoyed our stay in Yizhi! The location itself is worth every penny, we could just walk across the street for the metro and also venturing to the famous XiHua street for all local delicacies! The only regret is, we didnt extend our GuangZhou days to stay longer. This would be my first choice hotel on my next visit!

Hands down the best hotel one can find at this price range, I booked for two days but ended up extended another two. Here is the list of things I truly appreciate: Attention to details : from coffee (I love their Yunnan coffee! to comfortable disposable slippers to awesome pillows , marvellous TV wallpaper) Technology : Xiaodu voice controlling of light, TV and curtains - I can't get enough talking to xiaoduxiaodu :D Location: just outside of xihua lu where u get best food in Guangzhou Shower: Great shampoo and shower gel and super good water pressure!
