You can walk to the famous cathedral and easy to sightsee the old town. However, the guidebooks and so on wrote that the old town was badly secure, so I think it is necessary to be careful when staying. I stayed alone, but I never thought about being mild and dangerous, such as the nearby shop 々 and the Uber driver when I went to the hotel. Depending on how to catch it, it is safe because your family is always around the front desk. But sometimes you feel noisy with laughter and TV volume. If you can't speak English 々, you responded well using translation.

Location is wonderful, the territories of the super hotel, there are hot sources. The room is good, convenient, there are storage spaces for the hangar, convenient bath. A lot of greens and flowers, very beautiful. There is a euro socket that is rare in Guatemala. The only thing that doesn't fit all beauty, the chumy staff, is very badly responded to requests. Simple request to pour hot water for tea and give a cup turns into a problem and we see dissatisfied people.

We loved Barcelo Guatemala City hotel. We arrived around 7 pm at the airport, the shuttle driver was already waiting for us at the arrival area, the hotel had nice, clean van and it’s only 5 minutes from the airport. Fast check in, the hotel is big and clean, our room was on the 8th floor with 2 balconies. We had a king bed and they provided us with 2 bottled water and a tray of fruits. They have a pool but we didn’t have enough time to enjoy it. Breakfast was very nice, they have different guatemalan food choices for breakfast everyday like fajita, plantains, beans. They also have the usual eggs, bread, cheeses, yogurt, cold cuts and lots of fresh fruits. The servers were so kind. We also ate at the restaurants inside the hotel, Kyoto for japanese cuisine and Strikers for american food. We exchanged currency at the front desk everyday since we don’t know how much money we will spend for every tour. We made Barcelo our base hotel and took tours everyday. We did Hobbitenango, Antigua, Chichicastenango, Guatemala city tour and Lake Atitlan with San Juan la Laguna, which we all booked via Viator, we were lucky that most tours it was only the 2 of us. There is a supermarket Paiz just one block from the hotel where we bought drinks and snacks. The area is very safe and the hotel has 24/7 guards at the lobby and gate. We also booked the shuttle going back to the airport, our flight was at 6am and we took the first shuttle at 4 am, plenty of time to get to the airport, security and immigration. I’ve been there two days ago for a one day visit of Ciudad de Guatemala (which I recommend!) two days ago. Very nice place with welcoming people. It is quite close to the airport, a 20 minutes bus ride from the center in a nice residential neighborhood. The tropical garden is very relaxing and beautiful, the room was okay, maybe a bit on the dark side because it was ground floor, but nicely set up in a traditional way. The restaurant could offer more vegetarian options, but all we had was good. I recommend and would come back!

I only stayed at the hotel briefly due to a late flight arrival and an early flight the next day. However, the room was decent and it was close to the airport which was all that mattered. When I checked out in the early hours of the morning there was no staff to check me out so I just gave the key card to the security.

The breakfast is very good. The location is very good. The front desk and restaurant waiter are warm and patient. The luggage storage and hotel driver transfer service are also in place. This is a great hotel. If you come again next time, definitely choose this hotel.

My room had 3 double beds with a sofa and a huge TV. The view was straight into the Courtyard Marriott across the street. However it was very comfortable. There are dozens of restaurants within walking distance. the Oakland mall and Dollar City are about 15 mins walk from the hotel.

It is a hotel converted from a villa, the equipment is not bad, the key is that the hotel owner is very beautiful and the service is good. It is rare to speak English. Don’t order me food, and take me to the market supermarket for free, and take me to the airport for free
