Top rated hotels in Guildford

The Angel Posting House & Livery
3.9/5103 Reviews
Guildford itself has 4 hotels. This old hotel with a history of more than 100 years is located on the high street. However, the other side of the matter is that the hotel is indeed too old. The facilities are outdated and there is no elevator. The floor of the house is all sloped. Be careful and you may fall down.
Travelodge Guildford

After visiting Edinburgh, I went back to Surrey and stayed at this hotel, because I booked in the country and wanted to stay one more night, but there was no room. It is a 15-minute walk from the University of Surrey and close to Risari Railway Station Along the way, you can enjoy the English country style, quiet environment and fresh air. Breakfast is subject to additional charges.
Barnett Hill Hotel

The building is fantastic - Grade II* with the most fabulous ceilngs and a stair that quite takes the breath away, and, even in March, terraces outside that give more than a hint of the fabulous when all is in blossom. But my daughter and I went in search of a 'proper traditional' Easter Day lunch in a Grand Hotel, and in that we were not disappointed. Barnett is the latest in our personal Grand Hotel series and is a winner so far, Shiny clean, with comfortable furniture and decor that struck a sensible balance beteen modern, comfortable, and the traditional and a pretty impressive oak panelled Dining Room. The lunch staff had, unlike an earlier hotel, clearly been trained - a desirable change in table setting to accomodate a slight idiosyncracy of my daughter was spotted and immediately executed. While a pretty large prebooked family party was accommodated in the Drawing Room next door without affecting the service in our dining room. Roast Lamb on the menu - what else for Easter Day? - a wee bit tough [ but, yes, they did remember the Mint sauce] and Roast Potatoes that were a little tired, but the starters and puds were beyond criticism. The bar lightly stocked [ no Tio Pepe sherry and no GranMarnier, but acceptable alternatives were suggested without prodding, which suggests the staff knew what I was asking for. Not cheap, but not unexpectedly expensive the basic Easter Day menu £45. The hotel is strangely unknown in the locality - even my ”Lunching Advisor” - 30 years largely at the top end of the Hospitality Industry, was not really aware of it. Which might explain why the bar was not properly open until 12:00 or so and the dining room only half full ? Yes, we will be back; maybe next time to try the Afternoon Tea on the Terrace
