"A good 1 night stop on our long journey from queenstown to the glaciers and Punakaiki. The room was basic but met our needs with microwave, kettle etc, plenty of hot water and a warm bed (it was very cold in Haast at the time). The staff were very friendly and informative of the area. On the managers suggestion we drove to the nearby haast beach to watch the sunset. A well worth it local excursion."

"After arriving, because the hotel pump we booked was being repaired, the boss contacted another hotel nearby in advance for the passengers on this day. The room was very good and belonged to the business hotel. It was upgraded 🌝"

"Do not recommend dining in the bar. As I was heading to the beach to watch the sunset, I asked for the pie in the case and was told I will have a 45 mins wait along with other diners! There is another restaurant before Heartland where the fish n chips was really good. Had it for lunch."
