"We stayed for 2 nights here in the top floor family room. We had a nice large terrace facing the mountain. The room was spotlessly clean, the mattress was good and there was enough lighting all around. Plenty of free bottled water was provided. The bathroom was huge with both a shower and bathtub. Breakfast was fresh and delicious, with pancake and pho and fresh fruits. The service was very good, whenever we had a query, we were promptly addressed via WhatsApp with the owner. The location is just right for us, who want to be a few mins walking distance to the main street and restaurant and is quiet enough away from loud music from the tourist bars and restaurants. We highly recommend this place for anyone staying in Catba. Thank you to the owner!"

"My second attempt to review. The first attempt ended up in my profile but not on the Thân Coffee and Homestay page. The host Trang is kind and considerate. She went out of her way to help me when I arrived late in the evening. The hostel facilities are good. The dormitory shares the fourth floor with a spacious kitchen/eating area with a fine view. The dorms have it all: aircon, wifi, privacy curtains, charging sockets and reading lights. A plus is that the toilet and shower are separate - no wet toilet floor. However the toilet is cramped and the temperature control of the shower is tricky - it's hard to find the sweet spot between cold and scalding hot. There is a pleasant cafe downstairs. Buses for Cat Ba leave from across the street."

"Great hotel. Feels very new, fancy public areas and rooms are nicely decorated and very clean and fresh. Balcony was a nice thing also. Location is not that bad but there was a really annoying trumpet playing early morning from the nearby military compound. Otherwise no noise from street or corridor. Staff was good and mostly helpful but check in and out a bit cumbersome. Breakfast options really amazing. Also had some drinks and snacks at the rooftop bar but plenty things sold out. Would definitely come back but then try get a room facing the other side away from the trumpet people."

This place has it all for everyone, beautiful scenery around, great bungalow for singles/couples/families and clean dorms which were quiet and dark, met so many friends here. Great Buffett breakfast, freshly cooked eggs to order. The staff couldn’t help you enough (Thanks Le) helped organise a great day trip around the island for only $25, he doesn’t try to push tours on you but happy to help with local transport around and to from hanoi, Sapa, etc. plenty of bikes on hand to zip up to the national parks and do some more sight seeing I will be back!"
