No-one about to check in on arrival First room has a flooded bathroom, which my grandson was quizzed as to whether he had caused it. Had literally just been shown to the room. Second room no leak, but toilet seat hanging off, and mirror dirty. Also reported to reception. Not concerned. Breakfast for 2 adults was included, according to invoice.....Options...continental/full english/Irish/vegetarian. We're then told only Continental was included, to be picked up from Reception & we must pay £6 each extra for full English breakfast. Invoice did NOT specify this. In the morning, they had run out of any nondairy products. Then charged my grandson £10.99 for his breakfast without milk/hot drink/yoghurt. Absolutely appalling. No-one seemed to be in charge, staff shrugged and appeared to not understand what was being said or the points being raised. Chose this hotel due to breakfast being included, as had an early start, and a long drive. Had to eat later in the morning again due to being hungry. Whole building needs serious refurbishment, only smart looking bit was the room doors which appear to have been updated. Beware false advertising......regarding Breakfast!

Avoid at all cost! .This hotel is run down and shabby.I booked for one night .We were escorted out of the main house to a tired looking annex at the rear of the property. This was about 4 pm , I had to take my wife for an appointment so she quickly changed and had a shower We left the hotel at 4.30 pm , After dropping my wife at her appointment I returned back to the hotel about 945 pm the room was cold , no heating the whole room smelled of mould it was overpowering , the bedding felt damp and the pillows had barely any filling in. That walls were dirty , I went to the hotel reception and pressed the button for some help but no one came ,so I went back to my room 130c and packed our overnight bag and picked my wife up and went home , I did try and ring the hotel but it went to answerphone and I left a message but I have had no response from the hotel. We have stayed here many years ago and had such a nice time so we did not think that it would have changed, I have notified Trip.com about our stay and still waiting for a response from them, the problem we have is we have also booked a further 3 nights at this hotel on 1 June and the 20 to the 22 June as we are at a wedding and are hoping to get our money back , but Trip .com are saying it is up to the hotel to refund us or not as we don’t have cancellation cover on the booking , it looks like I will be taking to BBC rip off Britain to see if they can help

Nice and quiet, close to the airport if you want to get your head down before an early flight.

We booked a room for one night as we were flying to Rome the following morning. We booked a room which included a cooked breakfast in the morning. The room was alright and quite spacious. We went for breakfast and was brought out some toast by a man wearing a coat. Not too bad unlike another couples which hadn't seen any heat at all. We then waited for our breakfast which never came. We finally managed to get hold of the man who had brought the toast. He said that breakfast wasn't included even though we had papers to prove it. All he kept saying was no breakfast, even when he was asked about the knives and forks on the tables and the sachets of red and brown sauce. BE AWARE THAT IF YOU STAY THERE AND EXPECT A BREAKFAST THEN IT WILL NOT ARRIVE.

There was a microwave in the room which is very beneficial and very nice. Location is too far but there's a Co-op nearby to get food. The room is a bit manky on the walls and ceiling and there were some tiny insects of some sort in the room. But it's a 6/10 in terms of booking here because of the location and cleanliness.

I stayed here a few weeks ago. Usually, I try to do positive reviews. Unfortunately, in my opinion the hotel needs some attention and deep cleaning. I think the photos I took there, say everything. Maybe the owners need to take a bit more pride in what they offer to customers. Also why was there red wires hanging from the ceiling and no smoke alarm in my room? Trip.com have been brilliant but the hotels response to my complaint has been poor.

I've stayed here before when it was a lot better. Nowadays the outside of the building is in desperate need of decorating, with paint flaking off the walls. First thing that went wrong was the booking from Trip.com somehow became lost in the system despite us have received an acknowledgement number from the hotel. Next, the sink did not hold water because the rubber seal in the plug was worn out. The bathroom has no windows and the fan did not work so smells linger. On the second day the hot water tap in the sink stopped flowing - no water, neither hot nor cold. They readily fixed that for us when we complained, but we decided not to risk showering for our stay in case the water failed again. The TV remote did not turn the TV on - I found that there was a switch on the TV we could use to turn it on and off, so we used that instead and the remote fortunately worked for everything else needed on the TV. On the last morning my wife wanted to use the hairdryer and found it did not work - upon checking, I found that the wire had been pulled right out of the switch. We never found the bar. Lastly - the breakfasts. The Friday and Saturday meals were very good, but the Sunday breakfast was served by a different staff member who was quite parsimonious. My wife and I both ordered the full English breakfast, but what we got on the Sunday was one breakfast shared between two plates. Two rashers of bacon were simply cut in two, with my wife getting the meaty end of the two rashers and I getting the fatty end. There was one egg each - not two - and the scrambled eggs we ordered were merely stirred to break the yolk rather than properly scrambled. The portion of beans was minimal, not even a child's portion. We saw another diner having the same treatment and he was not pleased either. The room was a bit too warm for us but we could not find any way of adjusting the temperature. On the plus side, the bed was nice and firm. Reception staff were not always easy to get hold of or we would have passed all our complaints on to them as we came across them, but we had lots to do and did not want to waste our time. It's a shame, because it is the best hotel for us location-wise, but we won't be going back.
