It is basic, which is what you would expect for the price. Unfortunately we did have to move room as the bed had not been changed however the room that we moved into was very clean. (This may have been due to early check-in however we did notify them ahead of time). It is directly off the motorway so there are no pubs/restaurants nearby (apart from one across the motorway, if you want to risk it on foot). Two villages, 10 and 20 min drive away which have lots of choice but not ideal if driving and wanting a drink. The man who checked us in was lovely and very polite. Would be higher rating if not having to change rooms. It is a drafty room, but the electrical heaters soon warm you up. Only thing i would say is treat it like you’re in a caravan/lodge as food/drinks etc, not close by and no breakfast. Defo only a one or two night stay whilst heading up/down country, not ideal for a getaway.

Me and my partner had a great 2 night stay, surprisingly quiet considering it's close to the A1 slept really well wasn't woken up by the traffic atal. Really friendly hotel manager offered to carry our bags to our room. The room was clean and cosy, modern bathroom with a lovely walk in rain head shower, bed very comfy. All rooms are situated around a very pretty courtyard all with there own front door.

Arrived at hotel having pre-booked a room. I was turned away being told the room had been double booked. Colleagues also booked into the hotel complained of trailing leads in the bedrooms, plug sockets hanging out the walls, nearby rooms where the door handles were missing meaning the doors were slamming in the wind all night, being followed to rooms by staff and asked to leave good reviews, water not working in bathroom.

I recently stayed at this lodge and had a fantastic experience. The staff were extremely friendly and accommodating, making me feel welcomed from the moment I arrived. The room was spacious, clean, and comfortable, providing a relaxing a**osphere during my stay. Overall, I highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a comfortable and enjoyable stay. I will definitely be returning in the future. Also, this place is full of surprises. I love it.

Flooring peeling up, kettle left on with no water, smoke alarm covered up, dirty shower not been cleaned with opened empty bottles, grime and hairs around shower and toilet, dirty mug with the kettle and with teabags milk etc, grubby floor not cleaned in a while, car park looks like a scrapheap. Shower only has scalding heat water no cold so couldnt shower very dangerous. The list goes on I didnt bother to want to change rooms as i thought they would probably be the same.

Be prepared as when I arrived I thought the place had closed down, in fairness I arrived early but wasn’t able to check in. The rooms are good but unfortunately due to the very cold weather the rooms were also cold as there was no radiator heating and the rooms were relying on wall electric heaters. The room I was first put in was too cold for me. The bathroom was fabulous. I moved room which was warmer tbh. The bathroom was fab but the main walk in showers was too cold, the bath had no taps but had a shower over the bath which was just about warm enough. Good value but be prepared for a place that simply doesn’t look finished. No good option either. All this hasn’t put me off and I will stay here again.

DO NOT BOOK THIS HOTEL ! I booked this hotel for our staff members, one of my colleagues had a mouse in his room, and there are plug sockets hanging off with wiring exposed so strong health and safety risk, electrics keep going on and off and problems with the shower only scolding hot no other option. When my colleagues informed the staff of these problems they basically did not care !! I have had to find alternative accommodation for our guys but when I asked for a refund the hotel denied any of these problems existed ! Disgusted

Absolute disgraceful service from pulling into the car park. Seeing fence panels broken and render falling off walls. Went to reception which smelt of damp and mould growth on the walls. The receptionist didn’t know how he had booked our rooms. Whilst the receptionist prepared the rooms we were asked to stand out in the cold and rain with two Law Enforcement officers who were there to see the hotel owner. Went into one of the rooms and the toilet and shower was dirty. Ply socket hanging off the wall. The other room the floor boards lofted as you walked across the room. One floor board leading to the shower lifted above the rest of floor which created a trip hazard. There was no heating in the shower and lights didn’t work properly. Stains in the toilet and curly hair on the shower tray Ewwww!! Wardrobe fell over when you hung your clothes and tv was fitted at an angle. Stain on bed sheet. The icing on the cake that I’m 5;10 and my feet hungover the end of the bed. They advertised on the website restuarant but no restuarant to be seen and was directed to the local kebab shop. We handed our keys back within 20 mins and the only acknowledgement we got from reception was from the law enforcement officer whom was trying to collect funds. For those of you who don’t want to waste 20 minutes of your life and £300 ready this warning and do not stay here. Absolute disgrace of management and hygiene standards…. ABSOLUTE DUMP!!!!!!!!!!
