I stayed at many hotels, but the Royal Hawaiian was the best among them. The room was not large, but it was good with a classical and solid feeling. The bed was fluffy and comfortable, and I enjoyed it in my room. The staff are also very friendly and helpful. I checked in quite early because I was moving from another hotel, but the room was available and I was allowed to enter. I enjoyed the banana muffin service and free yoga lessons. If I had to say, there was no bathtub and slippers, and the amenities were different depending on the day. But I definitely want to stay again.

First time staying here but definitely won’t be the last. So many people we met who were staying at the hotel were regular guests over many years and it wasn’t difficult to see why. A perfect sanctuary in Waikiki - close to everything but a luxury escape when you want a little peace and quiet We had an Ocean Suite which was spacious and very well appointed, but what made our experience was the the staff. Without exception they were first class and so many had worked at the hotel for 20+ years which says a lot. Already dreaming about our next stay and we have only just arrived home.

Stayed here for 1 week,location is great. Right on Waikiki. This hotel doesn’t have its own beach but offers free sitting chairs to bring with you to the beach and towels. Takes 20secs to the beach.Really tall hotel so you can see sunset over the ocean,staff is SUPER friendly. Building is old like all of them on Waikiki,furniture needs updating,mattress is hard but they give you 4 pillows,asked for our room to be freshened up when came back sheets and duvet cover never got changed.Asked next day to freshen up and left sheets same way.Not sure why,cleaning staff spoke perfect English!Mon&Wed they got farmers market downstairs,outrageous prices a Coconut for $20US, a small cup of fruits for $20US,youll also find bracelets and other junk! Overall it’s affordable and central,we didn’t eat on the resort nor used their spa so can’t recommend!

In the Maui fire, the hotel was full, and I wanted to upgrade temporarily but there was no room). The room is old, with an area of ​​less than 20 square meters. This location is the best. 1 block from the beach, within walking distance to anything you want in Waikiki. The lobby is an open, grand lobby. Hotel employees are extremely friendly and helpful. I was very concerned about the hotel when I got off the elevator on the 14th floor. The hallways are dated and uninviting. However, upon entering the room I was pleasantly surprised. The room was clean, plenty spacious for a solo traveler (and would be acceptable for 2 travelers), and had a great view of the ocean. The continental breakfast offered fruit, pastries, boiled eggs, cereal, toast, and waffles. The best part of the stay was Leo at the bell desk. He was extremely friendly, and provided excellent service (he even noticed that I dropped my apple watch cover and held it for me until my return later that day). Be sure to get to know Leo, and don't forget to tip your service providers!

When you stay at a hotel that has a roach trip in the room...does anything else need to be said? Okay, great location. Also, a super fun bar (Wang Chung's) inside the lobby, one of the best in Waikiki. After that...blah. The bed was comfortable, except for the fact that my feet hung off the bed....and I'm just a medium-tall person. Pancakes at IHOP thicker then their pillows...and I'm barely exaggerating. TV never worked. There were big rainstorms, which was their excuse....but after 3 days of bright sunshine, still no tv. Even then, there's so little furniture in the room that you can't even see the TV cuz the lamp covers it up...you have to place the lamp on the floor to see the TV, when it works. Finally...manager....PLEASE stop pulling your mask down to speak with guests. You should know better.

Booked this in 2019 for our 20th anniversary and had to cancel due to COVID and they said they would honor my booked rate for the next year. Had to cancel again and they honored my price for 2022! I was impressed with that. Hotel is in a great location-you can play in the ocean and see Diamond Head and we were lucky enough to spot two sea turtles. (one was a baby) You can walk to International Market Place, Al Moana shopping center, and Beach Walk Street with many good Restaurants. and Lewers Street. Royal Hawaiian Shopping Center down the street also. We didn't get a rental car and took an uber 4 times and had several tours booked where you get picked up and dropped off. Much cheaper than a rental car and having to pay $50 a night just to park the rental car at the hotel. Hotel was in definite need of a remodel. Was told would have a higher level room and put on first floor. We requested to move next day. Moved to 9th floor. Room was clean, hotel was clean, restaurant was very clean. People were friendly. Lots to do on Oahu. A lot of people here.
