"The hotel is fantastic! Opening the window reveals a breathtaking view of snow-capped mountains, and its location is perfect for enjoying the snowy scenery. They even provide oxygen and humidifiers, which is a thoughtful touch. The room also has underfloor heating, so it's never cold. All the towels are disposable, and there are even disposable toilet seat covers. The landlady is incredibly warm and welcoming, making me feel right at home. Overall, I had a great experience, though I was a bit disappointed not to see the 'Golden Mountain bathed in sunlight' due to the cloudy weather this time. "First off, I really loved the room's layout and decor. It came with underfloor heating and oxygen supply, which was a nice touch. The common areas were also very cozy and inviting.
Secondly, the service was excellent! Every staff member was kind, thoughtful, and proactive in resolving any issues. They offer a lovely afternoon tea on the 5th floor, and breakfast was plentiful.
The biggest highlight is being able to see the snow-capped mountains right from your bed. You can also capture the 'Golden Mountain at Sunrise' phenomenon from the 5th-floor terrace, where they have plenty of tripods ready for use.
It's about a 30-minute drive to Feilai Temple, passing through Deqin County.
I usually don't leave reviews, but I had to for this one because I really enjoyed it and wanted to provide a reference for future travelers."

"we arrived late and exhausted. the staff was very well welcoming, pleasant and caring. they contract us a day before for all the arrangement and even a lovely gesture of a strawberry cake for our anniversary. the bar was wonderful with comfort atmosphere. we woke up early (the hotel will provide a forecast too) for the sunrise view at the bar, and there is even a thoughtful staff there to prepare us warm teas for the cooling morning. we went back to rest as not well after the viewing, missed our bfast but got the staff to help us on checkout. it was pleasant staying there but unfortunately we didnt get to see the beautiful sunrise due to the heavy frost."

There's a viewing balcony, but you can't see the 'Golden Mountain in the Sun' from there; you have to go to the viewpoint for that. Be sure to try the roasted yak skewers by the road near the snow mountain, they're really good!"

I stayed 2 days to ensure I saw the sunrise which was a good idea because first day was cloudy and 2nd was not! bunks are a little small, I kept hitting my head. and the rooms lack a comforting feeling as they are modern with no homely decor or furniture. No towels provided, only micro towels."

"The overall experience of the hotel is particularly good, the location is excellent and convenient to travel. The room was clean and tidy, no smell, the bedding was soft and comfortable, the sound insulation was good, and the sleep was very stable. The facilities are complete and intact, and the sanitary details are in place. The staff is warm and thoughtful, the check-in is efficient, and the attitude is gentle and polite. "The room was spacious, bright, clean, and tidy, with comfortable bedding. The 24-hour hot water and separate wet and dry areas were fantastic. The hotel thoughtfully provided local seasonal fruits and snacks in the lobby for guests to help themselves. It was my first time trying Naxi apples, and they were delicious! The sunlight streaming into the hotel restaurant and kitchen made breakfast feel warm and cozy. The breakfast selection was plentiful, including corn buns, rice noodles, and unique fried barley pastries. The owners were very welcoming; they answered all my questions about Shangri-La and provided information on nearby attractions and routes. I stayed for three nights! Also, Benzilan is located in a valley at a low altitude, with a cool and comfortable climate."

"I rarely write reviews, but the obvious pros and cons of this stay prompted me to do so. First, the positives: the hotel service was commendable, with many organized activities and complimentary souvenirs. The location and views are indeed excellent; you don't even need to go to the Feilai Temple observation deck. However, room 06 has its view significantly obstructed by the neighboring hotel, so you'll still need to go to the rooftop for the best panorama. Now for the cons: the hotel's facilities are truly subpar. The sink drainage was incredibly slow; a staff member came up and worked on it for a while, saying it was a bit clogged and just draining slowly, but couldn't fix it properly as it was late. The door frame was cracked from the wall, and the floor gaps were visible as shown in the picture. Based on the facilities alone, it's not worth the price. On this trip, I stayed one night in Wunongding and one night in Feilai Temple. Considering Snow Mountain Awakening is one of the priciest hotels in Feilai Temple, my overall assessment is that its value for money doesn't compare to similarly priced hotels in Wunongding."

HHuoxiniI planned a trip specifically because I had this hotel, designed by Wu Bin, saved in my favorites. The moment I saw the snow-capped mountains, it was all worth it – the combination of Meili Bo Duo and the 'golden mountain bathed in sunlight' is just perfect!
Even the most basic courtyard rooms offer a glimpse of the snowy peaks, and there are plenty of spots in the public areas with even more breathtaking views and fewer crowds.
The breakfast was absolutely delicious, and the thoughtful evening dessert was a lovely surprise – the butler quietly brought it to my room when I was out, which was both unexpected and heartwarming.
Moreover, the hotel offers many activities. I participated in Thangka painting and making ******* incense bags, which were excellent. Upon check-out, the butler even gave me a gift of soap and a prayer wheel.
All in all, to find a hotel like this at an altitude of 3500 meters where you can simply relax and gaze at the snow-capped mountains, I personally feel it was well worth the price.

We had originally booked two twin rooms for four people, but two of our group fell ill with altitude sickness and couldn't make it. According to policy, canceling one room would have incurred a 30% charge. However, after hearing our situation, the owner proactively offered a free cancellation, which I truly appreciate. Secondly, the hotel really pays attention to the details. For example, the rooms come equipped with electric blankets, binoculars, oxygen concentrators, and even high-quality tissues. The bathroom has a heater/ventilator, and the Western breakfast is both generous and delicious. Lastly, the hotel is located in the first row, offering unobstructed views of the Meili Snow Mountain directly from the rooms and the rooftop. The rooftop even has tripods available for guests. We were very lucky to witness the stunning 'Golden Mountain in the Morning Sun' phenomenon on Meili Snow Mountain. Tashi Delek! 🙏

PparaworldThe room was spotless, and the 1.2-meter single bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was plentiful with a wide variety of options. The hotel staff were all warm and professional. The staff on the 4th-floor viewing platform, in particular, were outstanding; they taught us how to capture beautiful photos of the scenery. The butler service group was incredibly responsive. The hotel is located near the Wunongding viewing platform, so you don't have to brave the early morning cold to see Meili Snow Mountain; you can see it directly from the 4th floor. We were so lucky this time, from January 25th to 27th, we saw the breathtaking 'Sunrise over Golden Mountain' (Rizhao Jinshan) of Meili Snow Mountain for two days, as well as the 'Sunset over Silver Mountain' on the first day. The two documentaries shown at night, ”Kawa Karpo” and ”The Salt Road,” were fascinating. The small gift we received upon check-out was lovely.
However, the dinner selection was uninspiring, and the portions were small. For instance, the stir-fried Pipa pork with matsutake had very little meat and mushrooms, but a lot of green onions. I hope they can improve this aspect!

GGuest UserFirst off, I have to say, this guesthouse is destined to be a hit! I'd been planning my trip to Meili Snow Mountain for a long time, did a lot of research, and ultimately decided to stay in Feilai Peak.
There were quite a few hotel and guesthouse options around Feilai Peak, but I eventually settled on this guesthouse with zero negative reviews.
1. **Transportation:** The guesthouse is less than a 10-minute walk from the Feilai Peak parking lot. The national highway is now fully paved, making it an easy walk. It's also only about a 10-minute walk to the Feilai Peak observation deck, where you can see the 'Golden Sun on Snow Mountains' phenomenon – very convenient.
2. **Facilities:** The room facilities are brand new because it's a recently opened establishment. They are very modern, with oxygen supply, electric blankets, heaters, and heated toilet seats, all readily available. I was truly surprised by how advanced everything was.
3. **Food:** We weren't arriving at the guesthouse until almost 10 PM, and I was initially wondering how we'd get dinner. To my surprise, the guesthouse offers a variety of meals, and the selection is very rich. Guests even get a 15% discount, and the owner personally delivered our food to the room. The taste was excellent!
4. **Personal Touch:** The main reason I'd recommend everyone stay here is the incredible hospitality from the owners. From the moment we checked in, the proprietress informed us of the 'Golden Sun on Snow Mountains' viewing times, helped us with our luggage and storing our suitcases, and even turned on the oxygen and electric blankets in our room. Because we spent a bit longer admiring the snow mountains the next day, the proprietress patiently waited for us to return and prepared a lavish rice noodle breakfast, complete with eggs, hot soy milk, and fruit. It was incredibly thoughtful and touching.
Finally, I want to say that travel isn't just about enjoying beautiful scenery; it's also about experiencing the local culture and people. From the owners, I felt their warmth, kindness, and attentiveness. At this price, not only is the accommodation great value for money, but the human touch is truly priceless. I wish the owners all the best!

ZZhixiao-The room was fantastic, with a balcony directly overlooking the snow-capped mountains. They thoughtfully provided two foot bath tubs. We were quite tired upon arrival at the village, and soaking our feet completely refreshed us, making us ready to head straight to the glacial lake the very next day – what a thoughtful touch! The chicken soup noodles were delicious, and the packed lunch they provided for our journey was great too. The resident cat was adorable!

Opening the window revealed a stunning view of snow-capped mountains and a sea of clouds – the romantic snowy scenery was just breathtaking. The room was cozy and clean, with plenty of oxygen, so I didn't have to worry about altitude sickness at all. Just sitting on the balcony quietly watching the snow was so therapeutic and lovely. The service was incredibly attentive, and even though it's located at high altitude, the stay was absolutely fantastic. Highly recommend it!

AAnonymous UserThey say you might not see the ”Golden Mountain in the Sun” in October, so I booked this place to avoid wasting money on a view that might not deliver. Turns out, we actually saw it! Super worth it!! The location is right next to where the bus drops you off, so it's a very easy walk, and close to the Feilai Temple viewing platform. The room was unbelievably spacious, and the underfloor heating worked perfectly. There are only four or five rooms, and the view is absolutely stunning. The owner is very simple and enthusiastic. I highly recommend this for anyone hoping to catch the Golden Mountain but worried about a wasted 4-hour drive if they miss it. The accommodation quality is easily more than triple that of other scenic hotels at the same price point, and the courtyard itself can help ease any disappointment if you don't see the sunrise.
Let's talk about the downsides:
1. Feilai Temple is currently under construction, so there are large vehicles at night. I personally wasn't bothered by the noise, but I can't guarantee others wouldn't be. This seems to be a common issue for hotels along this road.
2. The room was very clean and tidy, but I wasn't a fan of the air freshener scent. My partner didn't notice it, though.
3. There were some really large flies. I hope the owner can improve pest control. Although they'll probably freeze to death in a few days, seeing them definitely puts a damper on the mood.

You can see the golden mountain in the sun from the room, especially the terrace on the third floor which is particularly photogenic against the backdrop of the Meili Snow Mountain. The hotel service is also in place and is worth recommending.

GGuest UserThe location is fantastic, right in the heart of Upper Yubeng, making it super convenient for hiking to Ice Lake and Sacred Waterfall as the trails start right outside. But the absolute best part is the view. The guesthouse has two panoramic platforms, and even from the rooms, you get a direct view of the snow-capped mountains. You can literally lie in bed and watch the sunrise turn the mountains golden, and in the evening, enjoy a stunning sunset with fiery clouds. Every photo you take here turns out like a postcard!

GGuest UserShangyubeng is a beautiful B&B. Enjoy breathtaking views of snow-capped mountains and meadows from the floor-to-ceiling windows. The service was exceptionally warm and attentive. Because the village was undergoing road construction, we had to hike in. Mr. Hua called ahead to let us know, which prepared us well and saved us a lot of trouble.
The owner's cooking is impeccable. After a week of Yunnan cuisine, we were treated to authentic Cantonese barbecued pork and scallion chicken, which my two children raved about. He even thoughtfully prepared sandwiches for us to snack on on the hike back. May Mr. Hua's business flourish and may his fortunes flow.
